I hope you like this, this chapter was emotional for me!
*Brook's POV*
I was missing him already, being away from him made my heart ache. I missed his unique, shining hair. . . his brooding sky blue eyes that could see straight through me. . . all of his impossibly beautiful complexions and especially his smile that always stops me mid-thought.
I groaned and sat up from my small, cozy bed. Well thinking about him isn't going to help anything!
I decided to head out of my room and join Aunt Linda in the kitchen.
"Hi Aunt Linda!" I said in my best cheerful voice as I entered the kitchen and saw her there.
"Hey Brook," she said quietly, which was unlike her. . .
"What's up?" I asked, pulling out a knife to help her chop up the vegetables for our homemade soup - which was father's favorite.
"Just some news. . . you're not going to like it." She stated, stopping what she was doing and facing me.
I did the same. "What news is it?" I asked, worried by the look on her face.
"Well, they've changed the meeting with the Nazahi tribe. . . to a month from now."
I stood there, shocked beyond belief.
"A month?! I only have a month until I'm named the Werewolf Princess?!" I exploded, fighting angry tears. "I thought I had more time, I thought -" Just then Linda took me into her arms and I couldn't hold back anymore. The stressful tears escaped, and I found myself sobbing on her shoulder - soaking her light brown shirt.
"Shh, shh. . . it's okay Brook, just let it all out," Linda cooed, rubbing my back reassuringly like my mom use to do when my emotions overpowered me like this.
"I thought I had more time Aunt Linda. . . I'm not ready to take on my role, I'm not ready to meet our sister tribe!" I sniffed and my voice cracked a lot, but since it was just me and her here, I was not embarrassed.
We stayed like that for a while until I finally gained control over my emotions.
"Feeling better?" Linda asked me tentavely and I nodded and dried my tears on a towel.
"I-I don't know what came over me," I said, breathing deeply - what an emotional wreck I am.
Aunt Linda put her arms on my shoulders. "You're about to become the Princess of all werewolves Brook, it's stressful to even think about all of the obligations you will have with that title. But I do know that your mother and my best friend would be very proud of you, because I know that you will lead us into a brighter future," she said in a confident voice and kissed my forehead tenderly. She was so sure of me. . .
"Thank you, Aunt Linda. I neede some confident boost," I told her and she laughed.
"That's what I'm here for, now you go rest - you get the day off."
"Aww, did you know that you're the coolest aunt ever?" I said as she slowly began pushing me out of the kitchen.
She laughed again and shook her head. I was almost out the kitchen door when she called me back.
"Brook?"
"Yes?"
"You got in a letter today, and no I didn't peek," she said, handing me a white envelope addressed to me.
"Who's it from?" I asked curiously since no one's name was on it but my own.
"Dunno," Linda shrugged.
"Well that's certainly helpful. . ." I mumbled as I scampered up to my room.
When I reached my room, I shut the wooden door and jumped on my bed - laying on my stomach.
I quickly opened it - so I could quench my curiosity, and gasped when I saw who it was from.
Karim Scarlet.
He sent me a letter?! I was amazed at his flawless, beautiful caligraphy. Could he be anymore perfect than he already is?
Dear my beautiful Brook,
I know you're probably shocked right now, but please let me explain. I managed to find your address, and I hope you don't mind. . . but would you like to exchange letters?
We would be able to stay in constant contact this way and get to know each other a bit more.
Please, by all means, feel free to ask me anything you like. . . I will answer your every question.
Yours Truly,
Karim
I was hyperventilating by the end of it and I somehow managed to calm myself down.
He actually sent me a letter! It was so. . . romantic. I've never had any kind of romantic experience since I don't like any of the men in our tribe so I wouldn't know. . .
With my heart soaring like an eagle, I began writing back to the man who has all of my trust.
Things are about to start getting heated up in the next couple of chapters! ^_^
