Severus Snape Article: Severus And Lily, Possibly?

I was going to put this in the links section,but I wanted to focus on the lyrics itself,not the actual song.

This is the Nightwish version of the song, "Beauty and the Beast." Nightwish is my favorite band, and this is probably my favorite song of theirs (other than their version of the "Phantom of the Opera" song). It just seemed like the more I listened to this particular song, it reminded me of Severus and Lily. I was wondering what you guys thought.

P.S. Take the lyrics both FIGURATIVELY AND LITERALLY (we all know Severus is not ugly,I don't mean physically ugly.)And with the beast reference to him,it's him as being a Death Eater and all dark and all.The kind people would NOT associate with Lily.And naturally,to him,she was Belle(Beauty).

This song just really made me think of him always wanting her and never having her,and how she WAS there for him,but never in the way he wished.And I LOVE LOVE LOVE that last lyric!

SnapesRose Well, I know he loved her, however after all the years knowing him, Lily didn't forgive him for slipping out that one word. In all honesty, I think she is the beast, she let the fake change in JP let her sway her. So Severus was more on the dark side, big deal, yes, she was the sunshine, but in the end, it showed who was shallow and who wasn't. I prefer the Severus & Lily pairing better then him and Hermione, but in the end neither would have worked out. Unless Lily would have done him the kindness that she gave JP, but.. wait, he 'changed' to win her, Severus stayed true.. at least Belle didn't just saw beyond the obvious, because she had to teach him too, but showing him kindness, love, understanding, were as Lily and Severus just argued a lot and she constantly was on his back about what his gang did, but the Marauders she excused.. .. I better stop, get off my soapbox... so, you'd be the judge!

LadyLilith Oh no no, it's not about them being together at all; I HATE this pairing. I hate all that she put him through, and I blame her for his death. And as you said, she was shallow, and she was unwilling to be understanding of him. This song, to me, simply kind of depicted their story. He was the 'beast,' because he was dark and a Death Eater, and someone no one would associate with someone like Lily (not just relationship-wise). And she's the 'beauty' to him. The song's about him wanting her to be with him, but she wouldn't be with him in the way he wanted. She was his friend, but he wanted more, and he never received that. (Beast, aka Severus, part also obvious; Lily is shown as pure and perfect to him while he thinks of himself as a dark, evil monster) ^^;; I may be imagining things, but I think it's kind of cool, and it makes things all the more tragic. I HATE Lily, and I always will, but I respect that Severus loved her. This song breaks my heart to listen to nowadays. Btw, if you'd like to listen to it I'll message you a link!

Mrs-Grint No! Your not crazy at all! Well, you are, but in a good way. ;) I thought it was a great way to describe Snape's love for Lily. I agree with both of you, SnapesRose and LadyCat, I hate James and Lily together. It was bittersweet. You can even understand now why Snape was so cold and unfair to Harry, after all, he was a constant reminder that James and Lily had been banging eachother. Poor Snape. :'(
