Tangled Article: Tangled Vs 20th Century Fox’s Anastasia

I saw this movie on YouTube a few weeks back (although I really want to see it in 3D in the cinemas) but this film reminds me of Anastasia for a strange reason maybe its because its all about a lost princess and a bad boy who fall in love. Anyway here is the parts in the movie I think are similar to Anastasia. Forgive me I couldn‘t get any screencaps to the scenes I am talking about but you will probably know what I mean enjoy

#1 The Characters

First lets talk about the characters in both movies. Rapunzel is a fiesty,headstrong woman who is locked up in a tower by an evil woman named Mother Gothel,Anastasia is also feisty as well as headstrong. They are both lost princesses.

Dimitri and Flynn aka Eugene Fitz Herbert are also similar as they both start off very cocky and then they become more nicer and caring. Dimitri is of course a con man who is only interested in the money whereas Flynn is a bandit who stoled a crown from the palace. Both men fall for lost princesses.

#2Scenes from both movies that are similar

The part where the chameleon is covering his eyes during the boat scene is similar to Pooka’s one where Anya and Dimitri kiss.

The part where Rapunzel says “Eugene” and kisses him was like the part in Anastasia except Anya doesn’t kiss Dimitri right away.

In both movies Rapunzel & Anastasia hit their love interests Rapunzel hits Flynn over the head with a frying pan(yes folks a frying pan as what the character Flynn said Man I gotta get me one of theses LOL) and Anya hits Dimitri with her hand on the nose.

Maria7Potter Tangled reminded me if Anastasia too! And so did The Princess and the Frog, especially the way the villans are defited...

Silvermist_94 I think Tangled is much much much better than Anastasia. Not mention Flynn and Dimitri, I see Rapunzel is much more beautiful, funnier, smarter and more active than Anastasia. Other things, well,...maybe you're right! It's just my opinion :)

BelleAnastasia Nice article, I also found these similarities between the two movies! Oh, I totally disagree with Silvermist_94. Rapunzel is really pretty, but she looks 11, not 18. Anya is extremely beautiful and is hilarious! It's just that Rapunzel is funny in a childish way, while Anya is funny in a witty and sarcastic way. Also she's not naive, while Rapunzel is. And Anya traveled from St. Petersburg to Paris, that's more than 2 000 kilometers, so as you can see she's quite active.

Tangled Vs Anastasia

Anya and Dimtri don’t get along they hated each other’s guts at first. Then when they went on their crazy adventure together they fell in love. Anya has a sidekick named Pooka who reminds me of Pascal(see bottom image).

As I watch both movies I see a resemblance to the two films .The story I both of them is about a long lost princess who falls in love with a bad boy who isn’t royalty at all. They go on an adventure together, they hated each other’s guts, they fell in love, someone sacrifices their life for the person they love.

Like I mentioned above Pascal and Pooka both cover their eyes when they see their loved up human companions kissing. Rapunzel & Eugene(aka Flynn Rider) are also like Anya and Dimtri they didn’t see eye to eye they went on a crazy hilarious adventure
