Gwen's P.O.V

We are having our family meeting with Trent. I am so bored! I was practically dying of boredom. Suddenly my cell phone beeped. (I know they didn't have cell phones at that time of period, but this is the 2011 version of Romeo and Juliet) Apparently, it disrupted the whole conversation cause it caused my father to give me a nasty look. I swiftly flashed my eyes at the text. It read,

Gwen, we need to talk. Meet me on the balcony.
-Your prince charming, Duncan

Ugh, he's so tacky, but that's my Duncan.
"Um, I'll be right back." I excused myself from the conversation. I rushed up stairs to see Duncan standing outside my balcony. I opened the glass and let him in. He immediately embraced me into a hug. We pulled apart. "What's up cause I really have to get back downstairs." I informed him.
"You know your cousin, Alejandro?" (Tybalt) he asked me. I nodded my head in disgust. Alejandro is such a hot head. He is so high tempered. "Well, he somehow found out that I sneaked into the Capulet ball. Now, he's challenging me to a duel, tomorrow." he continued. I sighed. "Ugh, Alejandro, why does he always have to make a big deal out of everything?" I complained. Duncan wrapped both arms around my waist. "Hey, don't stress yourself. I'm going to be fine babe." he calmed me down. He leaned in for a kiss and we were soon making out. "Gwen, where are you?" I heard my father call out from downstairs. I unlocked our lips. "I'll talk to you later." I said while I led him outside to the balcony. Duncan climbed down and I sped back downstairs. "Sorry about that." I apologized. Trent told me that my parents went to go talk to someone about the marriage. I sat down on the seat across from him. I mean, I haven't even had a decent conversation with the guy, and I was going to marry him?!

"So Gwen, this is a pretty big thing for our families."
"Um, yeah, it's pretty big."

Trent stared at my gothic style of clothing.

"Of course when we're married, you're going to have to fix....................that, but hey, I'm rich, no worries."

Trent put his arm around me, but I didn't like it. I just slouched in my chair. My parents came back in the room. "Great news new happy couple, the marriage is all set up and will take place next month." she announced. I rolled my eyes and Trent left.



----------------THE NEXT DAY----------------------

I put on my dark purple hoodie and headed out through my balcony. Wow, it was a dad idea for my dad to have a balcony built next to my room. So far, it's been an escape route and a passage of seeing Duncan for me. I walked around and met Duncan at the place where Duncan told me that the duel will take place in. I met him there. We were the first ones. I sighed and gave him a hug. "Why does Alejandro have to do this to you?" I asked while I was still hugging him. "Cause he's a bitch." he joked. I laughed. Soon, many people showed up. Alejandro was the last one to show up. He always liked to be fashionably late. I ran over to Alejandro. "What the hell you jerk. Why are you doing this?" I quizzed my cousin. "Gwen, stay out of this. He is a trespasser and he must be put to justice." he said as he shoved me out of his way. "Duncan of the nation of Capulets, I challenge you to a duel." he pronounced. Duncan rolled his eyes and smiled at me. I don't what it is about his smile, but it made me laugh. "Listen dude, I don't want to hurt you. I'm not gonna fight you." Duncan exclaimed. Alejandro started mocking him. He is so annoying. "Enough," Geoff yelled, "I'll take Duncan's place." Everyone gasped. "Dude, it's ok." Duncan tried to convince him. "No, you're my best friend. He can't insult you like that." Geoff stood up for him. Fist, feet, and blood were soon flying everywhere. Duncan tried to get in the middle of the fight but then Alejandro did the stupidest thing he has ever done. He stabbed Geoff and left him to die. Everyone in the crowd was silent. Alejandro ran away and the crowd soon disunited. Duncan was still standing in place, so was I. I ran over to Geoff to take his pulse. He had none. I looked over a Duncan. "I'm sorry." I apologized. He ran over to me and cried into my shoulder. He sat there staring at the dead body. I got up. "Duncan, I think that we should leave." I said. He walked me to the Capulet castle. He was still in tears. Duncan left once we got there. He didn't say a word he just left. I felt bad.
