It was cold in the gloomy basement, and dark. And the Beatles were all so hungry, and thirsty, and bored. There was absolutely nothing in their little corner, save for the dripping end of a pipe that could prolong their lives a little bit, leaking a tiny amount of water into their prison. It wasn’t enough to satisfy any of them, though. And sooner or later, they were going to need food. And while there might be an accidental source of water in here, there was no way to get food.
How could they have been so wrong about their girlfriends? Now that the boys looked back on it, they could think of a hundred little signs that their relationships weren’t right. Had they really been so blinded by these four women, when they had thousands of girls they could have chosen from?
“That’s just it, though,” George reminded them. “They were the first girls we found who weren’t fans, what we were looking for.”
John made a face, curled up against the far wall. “And that plan went well, didn’t it?”
For about the hundredth time, Paul pushed against the chain-link fence. Just like every other time, the metal held firm. Paul didn’t even know how it was attached to the walls, but the women had known what they were doing when they built this prison. The fence wouldn’t budge. “We could have chosen any girl in town,” he said angrily. “How’d we end up with these four?!”
“We didn’t have that much choice, as we were looking for non-fans, did we?” John pointed out reasonably.
Ringo’s wide mouth sagged into a pout. “Wish we could do these last few days over again. I would have just chosen a fan. At least they don’t lock us up and try to starve us.” He sat against one of the walls, hugging his knees to his chest.
“Maybe I could go out with that pretty Karen girl.” George couldn’t help smiling just for a moment at the memory of how lovely she was. Then, frowning again: “She knew. She warned us about all this, remember? She even told us not to go looking for just any old girlfriend.”
John looked at him and nodded. “Yeah. But why should we have listened?” The ghost of his old smile returned for a brief moment, too. “I’d give that bird Emma a ring. The one who wrote me that letter telling me not to go out with her. She knows what she’s doing, that girl.”
“And me and Ringo wouldn’t have had any problem finding dates with fans,” Paul added. “There were fans everywhere when we got here. Like that bird in the boot of our car.”
Ringo nodded sadly. “Even that girl with the big dog would’ve been all right. Anything’s better than this.”
Paul sighed. “I’m bored,” he muttered, leaning listlessly against the chain-link fence.
“Me too,” sighed Ringo.
“I’m hungry,” George added.
Paul turned to John. “Want to write a song?”
John nodded. “Good idea. Write one last song before we go.”
“Don’t say that!” Paul flared up immediately. “We’ll get out of here; you’ll see!”
John just looked at him, unconvinced. “Figured a way out, have you?”
“We will!” insisted Paul. His mates were all looking at him, waiting – hoping – for him to give some evidence to back this up. Paul gesticulated wildly with his left hand, grasping for some solution. “Well – we’re the Beatles! Someone will notice when we don’t turn up anywhere.”
“How will they find us, though?” George reminded him. “Morag told me all about this house. No one lives round here, and there’s nothing around us but trees. No one ever passes by.”
Ringo was looking more and more upset at this exchange. John stepped in. “Thought we were writing a song, Paul,” he said smoothly, and the subject was dropped. George sat down beside Ringo, ever-so-subtly laying a reassuring hand on his arm, as they watched Paul and John toss ideas back and forth, humming bits of melody and making it work without any guitars around to use. The song became, very quickly, about the Beatles’ current disaster with their latest girlfriends, and more specifically, what they might say to any new girl – like the fans they had encountered on their first day in town – if they ever got out of here to pursue a relationship with them.
“If I fell in love with you, would you promise to be true, and help me understand? ’Cause I’ve been in love before, and I found that love was more, than just holding hands....
“If I give my heart
To you
I must be sure from the very start
That you
Would love me more than her....”
It was a good song, one of their best yet. John, Paul, George and Ringo just hoped that they wouldn’t be the only ones who would ever hear it.
A Great Decision

Now that their day was done, the Beatles and Laura walked back to the train station for the ride home. As they bought their tickets, Ringo asked, "Geo, can we come with you and Laura back to Kinfauns? We'd like to stay with you again for a while." John and Paul nodded in agreement. George replied, "Yes, you certainly can, mates! We'd like that, too." Laura added, "Indeed!" "Great!", exclaimed Ringo. Sparkie did a back flip in response. They soon got settled inside the train, and the three Beatles decided to take a nap while Laura leaned on George's side. This made him smile...

We Meet Again, Girls

The Beatles and Laura went to have dinner at one of the restaurants just outside the Palace grounds after watching the sunset. While waiting for their food, John saw the same trio of fans sitting in another table close to them and exclaimed, "Well, well, well! Aren't those the birds who flocked towards you, Geo?" George, who was sitting next to his daughter, also saw the girls and remarked, "Why, yes. That's definitely them." They saw him as well and waved happily, to which he waved back. Laura did the same as well, and this led to one of them saying, "We didn't know you're...

Garden Variety

With everything back in place, George and Laura resumed their hiking trip with the other Beatles joining them along. John said, "I wanna play some more football, mates." Paul replied and asked the two, "You've read me mind there. Care to join us?" George responded, "Absolutely, chaps!" Laura added, "We're all in, uncle Paul!" They then had a really enjoyable game from start to finish. Afterwards, Ringo exclaimed, "The crowd goes wild! Woo hoo!", which made the others burst in laughter. They explored the rest of the park and proceeded to the gardens. There, John, Paul, and Ringo...

Found At Last

By the time the Beatles had searched almost everywhere in the park for Laura, their legs nearly felt tired from all the walking. However, George was still persistent and wouldn't give up until she has been found. While checking the map again, he told his mates, "There's only one place where we haven't inspected yet: The hedge maze!" John replied, "Oh, you're right! Speaking of which, I've got a hunch that she might actually be there!" "Then it's off to the maze we go!", exclaimed Paul. As they neared the maze a few minutes later, Sparkie began to make some squealing noises like...

Time For a Hike!

"Rise and shine, Laura, darling!", exclaimed George as he woke her up. She soon opened her eyes and replied, "Morning, daddy George!" He smiled and responded, "Morning, my sweet little girl! Did you sleep well?" Laura said, "Mm-hmm! I did. How about you?" George replied, "I did, too, love. Thanks!" She responded, "You're welcome. That's great! Now, is breakfast ready?" He said, "It certainly is!" "Jolly good!", exclaimed Laura. She then got up and proceeded to the bathroom to freshen herself up and brush her teeth while George waited at the dining table. As they ate, Laura saw...

That's a Wrap!

For the last day of their vacation, everyone decided to go to Pleasure Beach amusement park after checking-out of the hotel. While there, they also bought some more Blackpool Rock. They had an amazing time overall. Laura said, "This was such a fabulous road trip, daddy George! We should have another one next time." George replied, "You took the words right out of me mouth, Laura, darling! Yes, I'd love to do that too." John, Paul, and Ringo nodded in agreement. The group then had a smooth ride back to London and to their homes. On the following day, George and Laura went to have...

The Best Father Ever

Shortly after the fair had closed for the night, Laura, George, and Ringo decided to take a little walk to neighboring Knightsbridge. Laura said, "I can't wait to hear what uncle John and uncle Paul will say now that you have Sparkie as your pet when they return from their vacation, uncle Ringo!" He replied, "Oh, I'm looking forward to that too, Laura! I bet they'll be surprised. What do you think, Geo?" He responded, "Yeah. That's for sure, mate!" Sparkie, who was now back inside his case, nodded in agreement. George remarked, "I can sense that he's excited to meet them...

Shopping Spree

Laura had been enjoying her new life as George's adopted daughter, and he had been such a wonderful, caring, and nurturing father to her. One Saturday, they decided to do some shopping in Regent Street. Their first stop here was of course, Hamleys. Laura said as they went inside, "Oh, George. I'm so happy to have finally come here with you. This has been one of my dream places to visit ever since I was a toddler." George smiled and replied, "Your dream is a reality now, Laura, darling. I know you'll have plenty of fun in this place. If you see a toy that you'd like to take home,...

We're Off To Oxford!

It was time for the tour to continue on to the next stop. After eating breakfast, the Beatles started packing their things up. George said, "You're going to have a blast on this tour with us, Laura." She replied excitedly, "Yes, I sure will! It's gonna be a splendid one!" He remarked, "Indeed, darling!" Soon, they checked-out of the hotel and boarded their bus for the ride to Oxford. However, somewhere near the hotel's vicinity, Laura's paternal grandparents have been eavesdropping and spying on her and the conversations while preparing to do a sinister act. Back at the...

The First Concert Experience

George and Laura decided to sit at one of the benches near the duck pond for a while. As they admired the view, he wrapped his arm around her in a protective manner and smiled lovingly. His dark brown eyes even sparkled under the sun. She held his hand, smiled back, and said, "I want to stay with you forever, George." He replied, "You can, Laura, darling. I'll take good care of you." They then hugged each other once again. Later at around 1:30, the other Beatles went to the park and eventually found them. Ringo said, "It's a beautiful day, isn't it?" George replied,...

Saying Hello To the Other Beatles

The father and daughter-like bond between George and Laura had become stronger as they woke up feeling rested and ready for breakfast. While they were getting ready, George told her, "Once we go to the restaurant at the lobby, I'll be introducing you to my three mates." Laura replied, "Ooh, lovely! I'm excited to meet them." He replied, "Jolly good!" Soon, they went downstairs and proceeded to the restaurant. John, Paul, and Ringo had already gotten a table and were just waiting for George. When they arrived, John said, "Good morning, George! Well, what have...

Laura Escapes the Orphanage

By the time George made it back to his house, he had already thought of a plan on how he could help Laura. He said, "I think it's best for my sweet little girl to leave that place since the other children might insult her again while I'm away. And since me and my mates' upcoming tour around the country will be starting in London, I can write down the directions to our hotel for her to follow and meet me there." With that, he got to work on this and tore the page with the written directions from his notebook. He then placed it under his pillow as he went to sleep....

Best Friends

George came to love Laura dearly, and in turn, she felt safe with his presence. Even despite the fact that she didn't know he was a Beatle yet, she was amazed by how talented he was when he brought his guitar to serenade her during one of his visits. As he finished playing it, Laura remarked, "That was great, George! I really like your singing voice." George replied, "Thank you, Laura! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Say, why don't we have a little walk together outside?" She said, "Certainly! I'd love that." And so, they went out of the orphanage and took a stroll around the area. He...

Meeting George

While Laura was having breakfast with the rest of the children one day, the head of the orphanage told them that a special guest will be coming to visit their place as part of his "Good-Will Mission". When she heard this, she said to herself, "I hope this guest is a friendly one. I'd like to meet him." After breakfast came to an end, she decided to change her clothes for the visitation. The guest arrived at exactly twelve noon. He was a tall, slender man in his twenties, had a mop-top haircut, and spoke with a thick, yet soothing Liverpudlian accent. Laura tried to see him as...

Prologue

For the first five years of her life, Laura was a carefree and energetic young girl. She had parents who loved her tremendously and often got excellent marks at her school. Overall, a promising future seemed to lie ahead of her. Then, one day, her life changed forever. As they were driving back home from a family outing, a runaway lorry suddenly came speeding towards them. Her father tried to steer away, but it was too late. Both vehicles had collided with each other. While she survived the crash, her parents sadly didn't make it as they were severely wounded and died from their injuries...

Hazel was sent to the hospital to be treated for her injury upon Jeremy's insistence. The bullet had only penetrated the skin, so removal wasn't difficult. Hazel was sent home to rest. Jeremy took her home and stayed with her so that she wouldn't be recovering alone. Later, John talked with Paul and said, "I'm going to find out where Hazel lives. I want to visit with her. I never got to thank her for what she did for us." Paul said, "We'll all go." He was also very proud that John started using the word "us" again. John sent Hazel an e-mail. With Jeremy typing for her, she told John what her...

It was the first day of Spring in the UK, and as the chimes of Big Ben signaled noontime, we join the Harrisons while they admired the view of the River Thames (with some passing boats) from Westminster Bridge.

"Well, girls, the next story from the early part of our success is gonna be a wild one. Ready to hear all about it?" George asked his wife and daughter a couple of minutes later. "You know we are, darling! As a matter of fact, I was just about to ask if you had any girlfriends during that period and how the relationship went." Pattie replied. "Yeah, that'll be quite interesting." Laura agreed. "Great. You'll find out the answer to your question soon, my dear!" George replied.

So with those words, it has commenced.
