Okay so, I've been asked why i don't like Piper.
Well First of all, i don't LOVE her, i don't HATE her and i don't LIKE her.
So here is how it is:

The Things I like about Piper

She is, as Thalia said, tough for a child of Aphrodite. But that doesn't necessarily mean she IS hardcore tough.

Even though she is scared, she stands up for her friends, she does not betray them and she fights even though she may not know how and is risking a lot.

She isn't a typical child of Aphrodite. She doesn't care about beauty or style. She knows what is more important.

She isn't (thank GOODNESS) a flirt like DREW! I DO NOT like flirts... I don't think anyone likes someone who is too flirty.

Things I don't Like about Piper

She may be tough for a child of Aphrodite, but she has more weakness than a kind of girl i would like to be friends with. I admire that she tries hard, and i admire her strength, but there IS a weakness in her. And yeah, we are all weak but maybe i don't like girls like that so much. she is too weak for my liking. She tries to stand up and for a second I'm like "way to go piper!" and then she backs down. I actually get disappointed and hope to see more from her character. Proof of this is Chapter 34 Piper. The first page pretty much says it all. I understand she was scared, heck i would be too. But that's the diff. She is a half blood. She should be stronger than that.

And about the attention seeking. Now, I'm not saying she's a full on attention seeker, but she did do a few bizarre things trying to get her Dad's attention. I agree, she had good reason. It's not her fault her dad doesn't have time for her. And she never meant to hurt anyone. Her intentions were pretty much pure and i 95 % blame her father and 5 % blame her. It doesn't change the fact that she did it. It made her a minor attention seeker. At least when it comes to her dad.

Bottom Line
I like a lot of things about Piper, she's not all that bad AT ALL. The above was only my opinion. The reason why i don't like her is because i find a weakness in her. I don't get along well with weak people. I don't hate them, but i don't get along.
So in the end, I'm not trying to influence anyone 's opinion. I just didn't want anyone to think i was a hater. I wanted to share my opinion fairly.
If you like Piper, i totally get why and respect that.
Though for me, Piper McLean isn't awesome, horrible, good, bad or anything. She's just there. She is a character, a big and important part of the story, but i don't like her.
And if you disagree with anything, don't be afraid to comment! I'm open to other opinions! And sorry about that Piper and Jason pick. That wasn't a fair one. Another reason why i made this clear!

Hestiarue39 Most Charaters have a weekeness, plus this is just the beginning, most people hates Jason and some piper, but dint judge them yet, you might never no what's gonna come our way

athena305 I understand where you're coming from. Piper isn't my favorite either. However, there are other ways to come about her rather than just 'weak.' She is a lot of things, but definitely not weak. She is a brave girl who holds steadfast to her beliefs. A weak person would succumb to the wrath of Drew. A strong person would fight. A weak person would get her dad back and not save her friends. A strong person would try to do both. Any of this sound familiar? As to the attention-seeking things...She is one of MANY kids who do that. There are so many kids who are neglected and can't find a positive way for their parents to notice them. If you've noticed, a big theme in RR's books is neglect and what it can do. It was said in The Last Olympian that if the minor gods hadn't been snubbed and the demigods hadn't been neglected, Kronos might never have risen. He was trying to show people that unity and equality is the way to go. Piper's problems with her dad are just continuing that. I definitely respect your opinion (I halfway agree with it), but I'm trying to politely (I hope) disagree with the things you pointed out.

LeoV44 Too tired to comment on everything so I'll just counter one thing: Everybody has a weakness. Whether they like it or not; it's not up to us to judge whether it's clear or not either. Not liking weak people would mean that you don't like anyone. So what you're saying is that you are a Misanthropist.

xharrypotterx ^ i said we ALL have weaknesses. I said i don't get along well with ppl who are weak. like seriously weak. i said i do like them, but i don't get along. THAT is what i said. Now YOU are making it hard to share MY opinion. I think i clearly stated that piper is strong and tough in her own way as well. But she weaker than the rest of the characters. She is weaker than characters i would like. And thats where you are wrong. we can't compare OURSELVES to demi-gods. Yeah we all have weaknesses, but we are just regular humans, we haven't been through what they have in the books. They're weaknesses and ours are diffrent. I hope u get what i am trying to say.

LeoV44 I get it, but I don't see how Piper's weakness is clearer than Leo's or Jason's. Mind you, Leo was the one that was afraid to go on the quest because he thought that he was going to die but went anyway to help his friends and not look like an idiot in front of the camp. Piper is nearly the same, just in a more personal way that can only be seen through her perspective. Maybe it's your personal bias/first impression of her that's getting to you. Maybe not.

Perseus54321 everybody is seriously weak, Annabeth is weak when it comes to spiders, Percy hates being enclosed in small spaces, and Grover, well he's Grover. In case you don't remember Jason was scared out of his wits when he was offered the quest, but he took it, so did Piper. If you can also remember Percy was rather terrified of the Minotaur, or going to Hades, but he did it to save his mom. And remember, we barely know Piper, it's just the first book

xharrypotterx ^That is being scared. I'm talking about weakness. and mabey LeoV IS right. It could be my first impression. And thats why im saying for like the third time i would like to see more from Piper.

chocolate10 It was a good opinon. I personally didn't love The Lost Hero. It disapointed me. I didn't like most of the characters. But Piper was okay I guess. I liked Leo's character. I didn't like Jason. I thought (and my friends agreed) he wasn't very um interesting. We all stopped reading it and gave up at chapter twenty. It was boring. But the series can get better...... Well maybe. I don't know. I don't wanna dislike the series but the first book put me off and i'm having second thoughts about ordering the next. But we'll see, we will see.

chocolate10 But I also disagree on the weak. She can be at times. But not all the time. My friend said she was slighty spaced out. Not um I cant think of a word for it. I didn't like her character that much. I don't really like aphrodite. I'm not into love. I like mystery. I like Artemis and Athena. I hate makeup and dresses. So if I were a demigod I wouldn't be friends with the aphrodite cabin. But put yourself in Piper's shoes, she has Jason who won't get a clue. And Leo who always is just being annoying. So I kinda felt for her. I mean I have a big family so I know what it's like having to be with clueless annoying people. It does bug me that she won't toughen up. I mean seriously if I were being attacked by monsters all the time I would buck up. And what's with the 'She will just end up betraying them' thing???? God. Think about it. What is there really to like in this story? Why on earth do people think its so great. Maybe (now tell me if i'm wrong) what's the point of even the point of buying it? It didn't grab me from the start being a new up coming author I really started thinking about these things. Sorry if this is spam. But this is my honest opinion!

chocolate10 Oh and on the flirty part, when I was in third grade a boy named Michael would always flirt with my friend Sarah on the way down to exstended care. It was annoying. I wonder if now he shaves puppies and spits on kittens??? He slapped me once so I wouldn't be suprised if he did.......

Will Leo and Piper date in the Mark Athena? Or in the other books?

I thought of this at night. Will R.R make Leo and Piper become a couple? Maybe. Anything is possible. Jason will probably choose Reyna, no offense to the Jiper or Pipson fans. R.R can make Leo and Piper become a couple. Another possibly answer to Piper's love life. Leo could comfort Piper when Jason picks Reyna. Then BOOM! They kiss, in the heat of the moment. It could happen. Tell me your thoughts about this.

R.R could make this happen because he is the author of this series, he could make Leo and Piper, fall in love. Since, they both knew each other before they were demigods, they both tease each other like Percy and Annabeth.

I am not saying that Jason will pick Reyna, I am saying he might . I did not write this article to explain your thoughts about who Jason will pick. I am talking about if Jason picks Reyna.
