CHAPTER THREE

I looked around the camp, Chiron showing me everything. I saw a lot of campers. They all wore the same orange T-shirt Percy had. "And, until your parent claims you, you'll be staying here." I didn't really look up, but I nodded, "Okay."
Then he left.
I was getting hungry, but I ignored it. Dinner wasn't for another hour. Instead, I just walked around aimlessly, trying to figure this out.
So, there are Greek gods.
And I'm related to them. Or more like one. I only new a few of them. Zeus, Athena, and Hermes. I didn't know the other ones.
From what I'm like, I don't think I'm related to any of them.

When dinner came around, I was told to sit with the Hermes cabin. I ate in silence, mostly.
"What's your name?" A boy with bright blue eyes and sandy blonde hair asked me. He looked about my age.
"Emma Yails. What's yours?"
"Carter Henderson." He smiled, "How old are you?"
"Fifteen."
"Cool, me too." So he was my age.
After that, I didn't talk to anyone.
And I slept bad.
And when I did fall asleep, I had a nightmare.
I saw myself lying on the ground, dead. And I saw Eve smirking. I heard a woman's voice. "Don't let the dreams scare you."
And then I woke up.

It was Sunday morning, so there wasn't a any camp stuff going on. I sat on the beach and sighed. I don't get how I could be a daughter of one of the gods...I wasn't cool in any way. The only person I had talked to was Percy, Chiron, and Carter.
I saw Percy and Annabeth talking. I saw some younger campers playing tag. And then a few others tanning.
I shivered. My own cousin had tried to kill me. Was something in her? Posessed her? I didn't want to know.
"Hi." Carter sat down next to me on the sand.
"Oh, hey."
"What's up?"
"Accually, can I ask you something?" I needed to know the answer to this.
"Um, sure." It almost sounded like a question.
"How old were you when you came here?"
"I was 10." He smiled. "Let me guess, you want to know when I was claimed?"
I nodded.
"I was 13 when I was claimed."
"Oh." I sighed, and looked back at the water. "Do you have any ideas on who would be my parent?"
He looked at me. "I could think of a few. Aphrodite, maybe."
"No, my mother is mortal."
"Some are tricked."
I let myself beleive that. I looked more like my "step" father than my mom.
"Maybe..." My voice trailed of in thought.
"Or Athena."
"No."
He sighed. "Listen," he said, "It doesn't matter. We'll figure it out."
Yeah. I hope so.

Hope you liked it! Any guesses on Emma's mom or dad?

The Lost Hero is the beginning of a new adventure, with the lost hero Jason we get a new perspective of the Demigod world. We also learn of how the Gods can help save the world. We also learn of how this connects with the previous series as Jason and his army scaled and destroyed Mount Othyr. With this more of the Demigod lives past are revealed starting with the finding of Bunker 9. As the three heroes battle their enemies, we also find out about the mortals from the myths. As we have two new demigod child (Leo and Piper) we get the idea of the powers of other Gods. The Lost Hero is truly...

Piper McLean is a the kind of character I call a Mary Sue, and I hate her for it For those of you who don't know, a Mary Sue is a poorly written character (commonly found in bad fanfiction). This character is often female (a male version is a Gary Stu), and readers find her hard to believe.
Mary Sues are typically beautiful, to the point where you forget to breathe at the sight of her, and Piper is extremely beautiful. 'But she's supposed to be beautiful!' you say. 'She's the daughter of Aphrodite!' Yes, but in the PJO canon, daughters of Aphrodite are pretty much useless in battle, but not...
