“We’re sorry, Jack. We were meeting the parents of Nicole’s friends. We don’t know when but we’re planning on a group date of the eight of us. When that happens, we were wondering if Nicole could stay at the ranch for the night when that happens and we’d pick her up in the morning.”
“Nicole is always welcome to stay at the ranch. She is a Newman after all.” Victor told Summer.
“She’s always welcome to stay at the mansion too since she is an Abbott as well.” Jack told Kyle.
“We know that, Dad. There might be times where she’ll need to spend the night at the ranch since the land Victor gave us was part of the ranch.”
Kyle and Summer took Nicole and they left the school with their families behind them. As they were walking to their car, they knew that they needed to ask the million dollar question about when they would want to join them for their therapy sessions. “We called Jason and he asked us a question that we want to bring up with you. We don’t want her to overhear so we’re going to put her in the car and turn it on so we could ask it. Summer? I’ll cover Nicole’s ears so we can ask the question without her knowing.” Kyle explained.
“What is the question?”
“Jason wants to know when all of you want to start joining us for our sessions. He said that we could have you guys join us at our next appointment or start after that. It’s up to all of you to decide and then let us know.”
“When is your appointment?”
“Our appointment is next week on the 7th. We also try and make them when we know that Nicole will be in school. She’s the reason why we see him because we want to provide her with a stable home and parents that love each other deeply and support not only her but each other as well.”
Neither Kyle nor Summer had to explain to their families what they meant by wanting to provide their daughter with a stable home but they knew the meaning behind that sentence. They knew what they meant and why they said what they said. “Kyle will call Jason tomorrow and tell him because I have a meeting that I can’t reschedule.” Summer explained.
“What is so important that you can’t reschedule this meeting?”
“This very important meeting is in regards to my wedding dress which you can’t see until I’m walking down the aisle.”
Discovering that Summer’s meeting was in regards to her wedding dress was a shock for everyone because they didn’t even know that she was thinking that far. Summer even had lunch plans with Tessa because she wanted to ask her a question that she hoped would turn out in her favor that she wasn’t going to let Kyle know until after. She couldn’t wait to see the look on his face when he saw her but the one thing they needed to figure out after her meeting was the venue for their ceremony and the reception. Both of them had already agreed that they would fly in bakers from their favorite bakery in Paris to do their wedding cake. Their wedding cake would be seven layers with white buttercream frosting with fondant roses. It would also have the bride and groom topper to symbolize them and a little girl one to symbolize Nicole.
Summer had arranged a conference call with Vera Wang to design her dream wedding dress which she had always had pictured in her mind from the minute she met Kyle and knew that she loved him. Her dress would be long, poufy, lace everywhere, and of course she wanted it to have a nice long train. Summer also knew that she wanted a veil and a tiara because she wanted to look the part in her future role as the Newman queen to Kyle’s future role as the Abbott king when the time came. Prior to their conference call, Summer had faxed over all of her ideas that she had wanted for her wedding dress to Vera Wang and had gotten a sketch of what the dress could like. The one extra thing that Summer had requested was to have a lot of embroidered details since she wanted her dress to be unique and one of a kind. After receiving the sketch, Summer realized that it was exactly like she wanted. She also realized that she needed to fly to New York to get her measurements right and she figured that she could take Nicole on a mother-daughter trip where they could shop at all the best stores for clothes and toys to fill her bedroom. Summer had arranged to meet Tessa at the Grand Phoenix so they could have lunch at the restaurant there where she needed to ask her an important question. “Tessa? I asked you to meet me here for lunch because I feel like we’ve grown close and I do consider you a good friend. I was wondering if you would be willing to be a bridesmaid in the wedding.” Summer informed her.
“I’d be honored to be a bridesmaid, Summer. I can’t believe that you would even ask me. As a bridesmaid, I can get you some entertainment for your reception.” Tessa replied.
“Who did you have in mind?”
“I could ask Tanner if you wanted me to. Tanner and I did use to be married to each other but we’ve become friends and he’s been helping me get my career going. I could give him a call and see if he’d be willing to do your reception.”
“That sounds wonderful. Please let’s just keep it between us now because I don’t want to let Kyle know until it’s been all worked out.”
“When is the wedding in case Tanner asks me?”
“March 15th is the day of the wedding.”
While Tessa and Summer were talking and having lunch, Kyle had already chosen his list of groomsmen which he had started after the meeting with the judge in regards to his divorce from Lola. He had already asked Noah because he had been the only other member of her family besides Daniel, Victor, and Faith who had supported them as well as his older brother. Kyle had a special request for Keemo that he was going to ask him the next time they talked in front of their father Jack. “Dad? I’m fixing to call Keemo and I want you here when I ask him a very important question.” Kyle told Jack.
“I love the fact that your brother and you have grown close, Kyle. It means the world to me.”
“I know, Dad. Let’s go into the boardroom because the screen is bigger and he can see both of us.”
