Episode 35: Salty's Salt

Narrator: Salty is a dockside diesel. He likes to be by the sea, but there are a few times where he has to pull trains away from Brendam Docks, and onto other parts of the island.
Salty: *Smiles as he runs without any cars to the shunting yard* We heaved until the old freighter finally caught the tide! Aargh it's good to be useful.
Narrator: Salty was required to help out in the shunting yard, and pull a few freights to nearby parts of the island.
Charlie: Welcome Salty.
Oliver: Good to see ya buddy.
Salty: Why thank you maties. I am honored to be here until Stanley returns from his repairs. This reminds me of when I first came to the island. They needed my help at the quarry.
Workman: Okay you three, listen up.
The song stops as the three engines listen to their orders.
Workman: I require one of you engines to take salt vans to the Fishing Village. There are only six of them, but they must be delivered quickly.
Salty: Is it full of salt for the fisherman's fish?
Workman: Yes. They're running low at the restaurants, and they want to ensure that they have more for people that want to make their fish tastier.
Narrator: Salty was delighted.
Salty: Then I'll do it sir. This is like the story when I found a salt mine in Singapore.
Oliver: He really loves travelling all over the world. Doesn't he?

Salty: *Backs up to a train of six salt vans, and a brake van*
Conductor: *Coupling up Salty to his train*
Salty: *Blows his horn twice, and pulls his salt vans* Off we go to the fishing village.
Narrator: Salty was pleased to explore more parts of the island. He was usually so busy at the docks that he didn't get to go anywhere else.
Salty: *Blows shave and a haircut on his horn as he goes through Knapford Station* Ahoy everyone.
Passenger 57: Hey. That's Salty.
Passenger 39: And he's delivering salt in his salt vans.
Salty: Ah yes. It's a beautiful day to deliver salt.
Paxton: *Waiting in a siding for his vans to be unloaded. He honks his horn twice as Salty passes him* Hello Salty. I see you're pulling vans too.
Salty: Why, yes indeed. These salt vans are delivering salt, and I am the saltiest diesel on the island.
Paxton: Salty, delivering salt. *Chuckles* I see what he did there.
Narrator: When Salty arrived at the fishing village, everyone was very pleased.
Foreman: Attention everyone, Salty's salt has arrived.
Salty: *Stops at the depot platform* Ahoy everyone. Enjoy your salt, delivered by Salty. This is like the story when-
Foreman: Yeah yeah, some other time Salty. Enjoy your salt everyone!
Customers: Ah, thank you. *Collecting their boxes*
Samson: *Stops to let the salt collectors cross the tracks* Aye, what's this? A salt van train being pulled by Salty?
Salty: That's right matey. Salty's salt is going to make everyone crave more salt. *Chuckles*
Samson: uh...I don't get it.
Salty: Then you must learn to have a sense of humor.
Samson: Nah. I'm usually too arrogant to have a sense of humor. Good day. *Blows his whistle, and leaves with his freight*
Salty: Mmm. I guess he won't be craving any of my salt then.
Narrator: This made everyone laugh.
