Tillie: Who's going to run on the new line?
Worker: You all will at some point. Tower's even buying a new engine to help out.

Pete: A new engine, huh?

Pete: Ah, an intermodal. Tower you shouldn't have.
Tower: Sorry Pete. This is for the new engine.
Sayaka: My pleasure. *Happily puffs to her train*

Pete: I wanted that new engine's train. She stole it from me.
Jeff: Come on Pete, you gotta let the new engine learn what to do so she can become successful.
Pete: And steal my work? I don't think so.

Later in Basic, Pete waited for Sayaka to arrive with a passenger train.

Pete: Steal my freights, huh? We'll see about that.
Sayaka: *Stops at the station with 4 passenger cars* Hi Pete.
Pete: What gives? First you steal my freights, and now you steal Farnsworth's express?
Sayaka: *Nervous* I'm not stealing anything.
Pete: Liar. You're trying to replace me, but it won't work.

Pete felt pleased with himself, but Sayaka was hurt. A tear came out her left eye as Pete puffed away.

Sayaka: It's not what you think. *Closes her eyes, and cries. She goes backwards to St. David's Station*

Next morning in Owensville, Tower had a ten car freight for Sayaka, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Tower: What do you mean she's not here?
Yard Worker: She hasn't been here since yesterday.
Tower: Call the manager at St. David's. I'd do it myself, but since I'm a building, I can't really do anything.
Pete: *Stops next to Tower* Good morning Tower. You got anything for me?
Tower: Not yet. Have you seen Sayaka anywhere?
Pete: I saw her a while ago in Basic. Why?
Tower: I was having her assigned to that 10 car train, but since she's missing, I'm getting Georgia & Natalia to pull it.
Pete: *Looks down at the ground* I know why. I got upset with her for taking that one intermodal that I wanted to pull.
Tower: Why did you do that?
Pete: I didn't want her replacing me. She has more pulling power than I do, but I like showing off how strong I am.
Tower: Listen Pete. I get what you're going through. That's not gonna happen though. There will still be plenty of work for everyone. Nobody will be removed from the roster just because I hired a new engine.
Pete: Alright boss. Let me go apologize to Sayaka, and get her for you. *Leaves the yard*
Tower: Thanks Pete.

Sayaka was still crying in St. David's. She was in the engine sheds with all the doors closed. She didn't want anyone to see her in a depressed state.

Sayaka: I didn't do anything wrong. I wish there was something I could do to make things right.
Pete: *Stops in front of the sheds* Sayaka? You in there?
Sayaka: Pete?
Pete: Listen uh...About what I said to you yesterday. I'm sorry. You wanna come out? I'd like to set things right.
Sayaka: *Smiles* Okay.

The door was open for Sayaka to roll out of the shed. Pete saw that her mascara was running from tears she wept earlier.

Pete: Oh. I ruined your makeup.
Sayaka: Heh. I ruined it actually.
Pete: Yeah, but you were crying because of how I was behavin' when we last met. I got jealous because of how strong you are.
Sayaka: You think I'm strong?
Pete: Well yeah, you're bigger than I am, you got more wheels. Your tender and cylinders are thicc.
Sayaka: *Blushing* That's the nicest thing anyone ever said to me.
Pete: Well get prepared for more nice things, because you have just made a new friend. If you're willing to forgive me.
Sayaka: Apology accepted.
Pete: Good. Let's go back to Owensville. Tower's got some more work for us.

After mending fences, Pete and Sayaka followed each other back to Owensville.
