Chapter 32
My best friend was murdered by my other best friend
I awoke again to find myself lying on a cold stone floor, I felt just as cold, emoty inside. My head throbbed lightly, but painful, and my chest hurt when I breathed. But that couldn’t compare to the betrayal I felt when I learned that Jessica was the one that killed my sister, and Dorothy’s so called friend were the accomplices.
“Help,” I croaked. “Help.”
“I don’t know why you bother, Des. Your voice is weak and were in the middle of deserted woods, not much to call out for help.”
“Why? Why did you do it, Jessica?”
Jess looked at me sharply, “she deserved, it was like you said. it’s ridiculous for an ordinary girl like her to be treated like our highness at school.”
“You were the girl with the black and white hair, the one that killed Dorothy, Hell! The one that tried to kill me!”
“I freaked Destiny! I freaked! I never meant to hurt you!”
“But if I hadn’t stopped you, would you have killed me?”
“I’d have knocked you out, hopefully enough for you to get a small case of amnesia.”
“You were a part of the drowning man, you were the girl those brats went looking for, even having those missing posters.”
Jess shrugged, “I didn’t think they’d care that much.”
“But…you were with me at the cemetery who was that girl that looked like you?”
“Oh, Destiny, my sweet little friend. I bribed a wannabe to dress up like that to be a part of the funeral.”
“Everyone could’ve attended.” I protested.
Jess shook her head. “Us girl’s threatened half the school, only teacher’s and the accepted were allowed to go, I told the girl if she dressed like that she would wear that.” Jess smiled. “Worked too, the girl’s totally fell for it, but I gave that sucker instructions, which she followed.”
“They never saw you before, as Jesscia Jenkins. They only saw the pictures that Dorothy showed them, which was you in braces. They didn’t know you ditched the braces and glasses. You tricked them into thinking you were a totally different girl.”
“I was called Torn, for tornado, I was like a bright and dark person. Dorothy didn’t even recgonize me either, which was a blessing.”
“Why did you kill her?!” I yell, my voice echoing off the walls, I could hear the wavering in it.
Jess shrugged. “She had everything, the looks, money, popularity…you!”
“What? What do I have to do with anything?”
“You were always with her first, you were layws closer, with your inside jokes and secret smiles. I could never compare, and I would never been a aprt of.”
“You were!”
“No I wasn’t!” Jess snapped. “I’d always hold my tongue, try to be cool, and it worked. You liked me, and I was your best friedn, but she was too. I wasn’t your number one, she was!”
“Jess-”
“The girl’s in that group worshipped me, Dorothy didn’t, but she still thought I was like a goddess. They adored me, they loved me, they craved me, they were obsessed with me!”
“-I-”
“I convinced them to kill her. Said that she crossed a code in the drowning man, and her punishment was drowning, they loved me to much to refuse. They jumped at the chance! They even threw at some suggestions! They were freaks!”
“-always-”
“I was there everything! I was the queen B! I was the highness and it felt great! We Didn’t even have to lure her! That idiot walked around at night on her own accord!”
“-loved-”
“I chased her, I hit her with the bat, and I threw her in that lake to drown, with her so-called friends helping and giggling at it!”
“-you-”
“And it felt good! Once she was gone! I felt invincible! But I knew it wouldn’t last, I knew I had to go.”
“-and-”
“I shed all the clothes and threw them out, gave them to charity actually. I still have the wig, it’s here in this house you know! So I could always come back as Torn!”
“-I-”
“Those girl’s would be on there hands on knees if I did! They would never take me for granted like you did! Dorothy was always first! Well to them I was!”
“-always-”
“I can blend in, as Jess and Torn, I look approachable! I look trusting! I’m awesome! Why wasn’t I your favorite?! Why did you always dump me for her?!”
“-will.”
Chapter 33
Gratefulness is more like sorrow
“The minute Serache said that I knew she knew, she’d been giving me looks and glances throughout the whole interrogation! I’m sorry, but I had to!”
“What did you do? What happened?”
“I threw you to the wall, and knocked out your mother, it’s on the news, there’ll update. The girl’s were freaked, Serache’s tied up in the attic, and the other two, Meredith’s flankees are tied up in a room together, Meredith herself is tied in the kitchen, you should be grateful, your not tied up.”
Grateful?
“Your always the best out of them all, Des. And I’ll always treat you the best.”
“It’s not just about me though, is it?” I asked. “Dorothy took something else, didn’t she?”
“We always had good taste in guys, Des.”
I gasped. “You’re the girl that jerk cheated with while dating Dorothy.”
“Correct, you’d make a wonderful detective, darling.”
“What are you going to do? Jessica you have to stop this, please, Jess.”
I think I’m going to kill the rest and you and I can be on the run, your thoughts?”
“Jess, this is wrong! Stop it!”
“Sorry, but I can’t. This is my game, my rules.”
I was crying now. “How could you? She loved you, as much as me. You were like her sister.”
“Then she was a horrible one, Des it’s me or her.”
“You killed her! How can you just stand there! How can you aks me that question! How could you, Jess! I love you, and she loved you! We were a group! We were a family!” I was screaming and crying.
“Families break a part, especially yours.”
“Jess, you don’t wanna do this. It’s too dangerous, you’ll get caught, please Jess.”
“I love you Destiny, but nothing you could say or do is going to change my mind of the way this is going to end.”
I’m sobbing now, I can’t even say anything because of my loud, uncontrollable sobs.
“I’ve got to work to do, I’ll come back later.” And with that, she left the room.

Anger
Nothing but anger
I should have listened to Mama
She knew best
I didn't listen to her
Yes Mama, they all laughed at me.
The blood.
Everyone jeering and cheering
Just like in the locker room
The pig's blood on the dress I made.
The laughter.
Their ear splitting and cruel laughter.
I start to cry
Tommy yells at them, telling them to stop.
The bucket falls down and he lays there unconscious.
The lights turn red.
Still laughter.
They tried going out the door
I trapped them all inside with only my mind.
The hose unwrapped from the emergency glass.
I turn up the water pressure.
They all scream.
Electrical wiring
The fires
I did it
The town I grew up in
Damaged and destroyed.
All from my mind.
I go home
I go inside.
And I wake up
In a pile of stones from the sky.
All from my mind.
This destruction I caused.
They laugh at me no more.
Nothing but anger
I should have listened to Mama
She knew best
I didn't listen to her
Yes Mama, they all laughed at me.
The blood.
Everyone jeering and cheering
Just like in the locker room

Hope still blazes
Inside me.
I know I can do this.
It's possible,
And hope is entirely on
My side.
I believe I can do this.
I shall soar like an eagle
And touch the sky.
Reaching my dreams,
Achieving my goals.
While the war still blazes away
Outside,
I have a dream
That one day,
Somewhere,
There will be peace.
Everyone will live in harmony
That day,
Peacefully,
Never before to be engaged
In the horrible shackles of war.
Though difficult,
I believe in myself.
I believe in my country.
I believe in the world.
I believe that we can do this.
Hope still blazes.
Inside me.
I know I can do this.
It's possible,
