This is a modern day remake of the classic Cinderella. I hope you guys like it.
Chapter One - Being Average
I thought today was going to be a cloudy, grey day. It would match my mood, but, as usual, it was sunny and blue. For one day, can it not be so perfect and beautiful. I am positive that the weather truly despises me. Everyone despises me.
Except for my best friend, Carlie. She must be the only one besides my mom who loves me and cares for me. She has been with me since I moved out here in Georgia. She must be the only one who can imagine what I'm going through. We both lost our mothers. I guess that is how we became best friends.
"Beastly Brie, Beastly Brie," chanted my foster sister, Kira. She rollerbladed right by my door singing that awful song. That is how she wakes me up every day. I'm glad that she goes to middle school and not high school. I would die having both her and her sister with me in the same school.
"Briella, you have ten minutes before I march up to your room and beat you with my spoon!" My foster mother, Beatrice, loves to yell. She loves yelling at me the most. I guess you could say that is a hobby of hers. "James will be home soon so you better leave!"
James is my foster father. He hates seeing me around the house which is why we try to stay out of each other's way. If I leave for school early and come home late, it is almost like I don't live here to him.
I threw on some ripped jeans, a vintage green tee, and my favorite black studded boots. All of my clothes come from neighbors who feel bad for me or the thrift shop which is the only place I can afford. My foster family is rich but before I get a dime from them is when I turn 18. I'm 17.
I shuffled to the kitchen with my wavy hair in a ponytail and grabbed the toast that popped from the toaster. The rest of the family eats in the dining room right next door. They have a proper breakfast and talk about all things proper I guess. I am never invited to one of these breakfasts.
Without even saying bye to everyone, I walked outside to the sunny morning. God, I hate mornings.
I'm barely ten feet away from the estate when this guy on a skateboard skated right to me. I fell flat on my butt. He landed right next to me and his skateboard, unfortunately, gots ran over by a two passing trucks.
"I am so sorry," I automatically said. I jumped on my feet and tried to help him up. He grabs my hand and together we lifted him off the ground. "Are you okay?"
The guy was chuckling and by now I fear that he suffered some brain damage. "What's so funny?"
"You," he said as if I should have already known. "I just ran smack into you and you are apologizing to me. You didn't do anything."
"Oh," I said, dumbfounded. "What about your skateboard?"
"I'll buy a new one." He shrugged his shoulders.
Then it hits me. It hits me like a tornado stampeding towards a house only seconds away. This guy is handsome. His hair is blonde and curly which highlights the magnificence of his kind, brown eyes. If only you could see him. The way he smiled crookedly or his shiny white teeth. He must be a god.
"What about you? Are you okay?" He waved a hand in my face to get my attention.
"Um, yeah," I said awkwardly.
"Before I so rudely ran over you, where were you headed?"
"To school, Glynn Academy."
"What a coincidence. I was headed there too. We can walk together."
"Uh, I guess so, but I promised I would met my friend at her house. I'm probably already late."
I thought then he would leave me alone. It was really awkward having someone extremely hot stand by you, especially with me being average.
"Cool, I would love to meet her."

Thursday
Kyle is the worst boyfriend ever! The party ended with me in a coma. Apparently there was alcohol in my drink. I had an overdose and it almost killed me. Kyle swears he didn't do it. I want to believe him. I really want to. I know Kyle had done it because I know saw him poor something in there. At first I thought it was water or something to make it sweeter. It wasn't water. I couldn't go to school today because they were pumping the alcohol out of my system or something. I'm not entirely sure what happened. All I know is that for a couple if minutes I was pronounced dead. My heartbeat soon started thumping again but I was in a coma. My parents were so worried. I thought for sure they would be dead from shock. Kyle is banned from coming near me. My dad implied that rule. My mom kept crying whenever she talked to me. All she could manage to get out of her mouth besides whimpers were muffled words. I don't think I'll be seeing Kyle for a while now.

What a change Such a dramatic change
Once I was small and ignored
Now I'm called when their bored
Or looking for a friend
To talk to till the end I use to be invisible
Now I feel invincible
They can't hurt me
Look at what I can be
This is new
Something almost true
That great feeling
Was somewhat appealing
But soon disappeared
Whenever I neared
Now I am small
No longer tall
Completely ignored
Always bored
It happened so fast Invisible in the past
Then became invincible
And immediately back to invisible
It changes everyday I don't know what to say
Maybe it won't stay the same
I'll be forever lame

Tuesday
The preps have got on my nerves for the last time. They decides to expose my crush on Kyle. How dare they? Who do they think they are? Their leader was like we all know that Laurie likes Kyle. U was all like please, I so don't. Then we got into this huge argument. Jennifer, L. J, and Tammie had my back though. Jennifer started trash talking their leader, Carly Louis, and they rest of her desperate followers. Kyle interjected and said that if I liked him then it wasn't any of their business. This is why I like the boy so much. After school when I was walking him from school, Kyle caught up with me. He told me that he thought those girls were cruel and should stay in their own business. I couldn't agree more. He whirled around suddenly and kissed me! I was utterly speechless. He started stuttering and then sprinted off in the other direction before I could say anything. Yep, that kiss was everything that I had imagined it would be but why do I feel like it was so wrong.
