Edward stood up and came to my side. He had his eyes closed and he was fragile.

-I can’t understand Jasper’s thoughts. It’s like; he empties his mind every ten minutes. Why am I a nonsense creature these days?!

I hugged him and got his hand in mine. I could see that they were all sad and they couldn’t concentrate on anything. When Carlisle showed up, everyone was in the living room. And I could understand that this time, my existence there, was no good! So, I made an excuse and Edward took me home without any other word. Edward wasn’t in a good mood so I didn’t ask him to come to my room that night, as always. Charlie’s car wasn’t there so I got my keys out of my pocket and opened the door. And that was the time when I saw Jacob.

-What… What are you doing in here?

He took a step and came closer.

-I had to come. Bella, I need you.

I looked away and stood in front of him.

-I don’t. So… I guess the idea of you in here may not be the best thing.

I could see his face now, although he had his head down. I couldn’t throw him out or make him stay. His face, made me remember the kissing scene.

-You’re green Bella.

-Of course I am!

He sat on the sofa and got his head in his hands.

-I’m sorry that I kissed you. I really am!

-Jacob I know! I’m sorry too, for being a friend to you while you took advantage of it!

His face got red, and I could see his breathing getting faster.

-Ok Bella. You’re making this too hard for me!

He ran toward the door, and he slammed it after he got out. The whole house was shaking when he slammed the door. Charlie came one hour after Jake left. He turned on the TV and I started cooking for him.

-Bella, did you have a good day, with Alice?

I turned around while I was washing the dishes, and answered:

-Yes, of course. Oh! I think I forgot to bring the things that I bought. Edward will give them to me tomorrow.

He nodded and started staring at the TV once again. With a quick good night, I went upstairs and got ready for bed. When I went to my room, Edward wasn’t there. So, with disappointment, I leaned in bed thinking of what Carlisle had said, while I wasn’t around this afternoon. My head was full of questions and I didn’t know if there was anyone who could answer me. I was almost asleep, when I heard him coming in from my window. The moon was complete and in the light of it, I could see Edward’s beautiful face. He was the most beautiful creature I had seen. And I knew, the world would never have something as beautiful as he was.

-ouch!

I said while his ice cold hand touched my forehead. He was too cold now, even for a vampire.

-I’m sorry.

I couldn’t sleep anymore. Now, with seeing his sad eyes, the questions were killing me, and at that moment, I wished that he could read my mind so I could get answers.
-How’s Jasper? And Alice?

My question wasn’t that good for the time. His face got hard to read and I couldn’t hear any answers.

-Jasper’s really better. I think he really thought on what you said. And Alice… She’s just losing control of her power these days, she can’t concentrate.

-I bet it’s because of Jasper. She was really upset about it.

He agreed and then came on my bed, cradled me in his hands. I felt comfortable the second he kissed me. This time, It was much more careful and Just when we started kissing, he pulled away and chuckled after it. I could feel my face getting red but I didn’t say anything.

-What did you talk about? I mean, the afternoon, after you dropped me here.

He couldn’t find the word to start but then his perfect lips got open and he started to talk.

- Mostly about Jasper, and … you.

I got closer to him and said:

-Ok, what about me?

He shifted his weight, and said:

-Carlisle thinks that you should be one of us sooner.

-So, I guess that condition of yours doesn’t count anymore?

I said with a cheered voice. Every time I thought about his condition, I flinched.

-It does actually!

He grinned evilly. I couldn’t help it but hitting him on the arm.

-that didn’t hurt!

I rolled my eyes and said:

-like I didn’t know!

He pressed his lips together.

- So, how was Jacob?!
I turned around, and looked him in the eyes. How did he know?!

-You promised to never read his mind again! Didn’t you?!

He looked away from my eyes like something had bothered him and said:

-It’s too hard not to read someone’s mind, let alone when he’s shouting them!

I flinched.

-I don’t know what’s up with that pup but if I read his mind once again and he would be thinking about you more than a friend I’ll rip his head off! Believe me this time!

With every word that popped out of his mouth, I could feel jealousy!
