Twilight Series Article: To all the Breaking Dawn Haters

I am stunt. I cannot believe what the “supposedly” Twilight fans are saying about the last book of the saga, Breaking Dawn. When I first finished reading the novel I was so grateful and thankful of Stephenie Meyer. She has giving us the best love story ever written. But as I was searching the net for the opinion of other fans I was shocked. The majority of the people didn’t like the book. They are saying horrible things about Meyer. Oka…One thing is to criticize the novel with a perspective point of view and another thing is insulting and disrespecting Stephenie Meyer.

•    First people didn’t like that Bella got pregnant. In my opinion that was very awesome. As fans may know one of Edwards regrets is not giving Bella the opportunity of having children. Ok, Bella was supposedly fine with that, but as you may know that totally changed when she found out that she was pregnant with no ordinary child, but with Edward’s.

•    Second, fans didn’t like either that the personalities of the characters changed. Hello! Off course the characters changed. It’s been over 2 years for them in the books. They are all grown up. They have responsibilities and priorities. Bella & Edward are married now and the dynamic between them is completely different. Jacob finally accepted that he is the Alpha of the pack. For me that was very mature of all the characters.

•    Third, they didn’t like that Jacob imprinted on Bella & Edward’s daughter, Nessie. In my opinion that was one of the most beautiful things in the book. Is like Jacob couldn’t have Bella but at least he could have part of her. Beautiful!

•     Fourth, the fact that Bella saved the day and they didn’t have to fight with the Volturi was not very welcome in the Twilight community. People, what in the hell are thinking. A friend of mine was saying to me that maybe the author was making a point. Not everything in life has to be resolve with a war. Communication is the key to success. I’m very glad that there wasn’t a fight and nobody got hurt.

•    And finally Twilighters didn’t like that the ending was too happy. Okay that is just ridiculous. The end of the book was perfect. Off course they live “Happily Ever After” they are immortals. They have each other for the rest of eternity. That was how it was suppose to end all along. Hello!!!
I’m just gonna say this; stop complaining and disrespecting Stephenie Meyer. You have to be grateful that she published the saga at all. She said that she wrote these books for her own entertainment, not because she wanted to become famous of anything. We have to thank her not punished her for giving us this amazing story of love, passion and friendship. She gave us Edward, the most beautiful and perfect character ever created. Don’t pay her back with hateful thoughts. If you didn’t like the book that’s okay, everybody has different points of view, but please watch what you say and write about the author.
In my opinion Stephenie Meyer is one of the most talented and creative authors of all times.

Sweetiecheeks Good job with this! I totally agree with everything, but for the part where no one got hurt....ummm Irina was murdered....lol, yeah just had to point that out. But the first time I read it through it was hard to love because it was so shocking! lol, so the second time through I completely loved it...it was just so DIFFERENT from what I expected so I was in shock the first time around.

Bandgeek_XP OMG, You are soo right!!! LOVE LOVE this article I toatlly agree with you!! I love how you said that Communication is the key to success because that soooo right! over all i really did love the book, but you know people and there reasons..... love your article! you know i'v realized that the people on fanpop had alot of love for breaking dawn, if you go other fansites they'll just bash it but i've found that fanpop is almost like a sanctuary to really appreciate the book for what it is. It really good that alot of people on fanpop at least really like the book!

angelas_price I totally agree. I cringe when I see a hateful comment about the book. Stephenie Meyer did her best. There was NO WAY she could make EVERYONE happy. Truth is, I didn't care who Bella ended up with or how SM decided to do it. I just wanted a good book with closure for the end of this Saga. I got both. Perhaps my expectations weren't as high as some of the so-called Twilighters out there who wanted it THEIR way or NO way. I do agree -- People on FanPop do seem alot nicer with their opinions on the book versus other sites (like YouTube).

mandapanda i do agree with you on most points also. the only thing i was a little disappointed on was Bella's transformation. I wanted Edward to change her when she wasn't dying. I feel that if Stephenie did write that, it would be one of the best things I have ever read. I believe that without a doubt. But, I like the book! Im trying to get that point across so I dont get chewed out or bitten!

kitkat211 Okay, if you all could stop kissing her ass for 3 seconds, you would realize that this book was pretty bad. "Nessie" was even the problem! The problem was Bella pregnancy, Jacob, Bella Out of Character, imprinting on babies, Jacob, Bella not going through her "newborn" stage, Who the hell "Jazz" was, people feeling sorry for Jacob,(OUT OF EVERYONE, HE IS THE LAST PERSON THAT YOU SHOULD FEEL SORRY FOR) Charlie being cool that his daughter is marrying and going to become a vampire, and Edward wanting to kill the baby. Great father, I hope that when Nessie get 17 she kicks her father in the nuts, kills Jacob and runs off and joins the Volturi! Now thats a story! I will end with the few thing I did think she did right. Vampire on human sex, the wedding(when it wasn't borning) and that fact that she did get turned into a vampire. Thats about it!

funnyshawna the book was NOT bad! just because it was different than the other ones doesnt make it bad! and kitkat211--the pregnancy put a twist on the story, jacob was not doing anything wrong in this book, bella was an entirely different character (vampire, duh!), the imprinting was kinda weird, but not bad, ditto on the jacob thing, if bella had gone through the newborn stage it would have been like "blood blood blood" the whole entire book, i didnt particularly like the nickname "jazz" but it didnt bother me that much, there was reason to feel sorry for jacob in this book, charlie didnt know that she was a vampire exactly (need to know only), and edward only wanted to kill the baby in the beginning when he couldnt hear its thoughts and he thought it was gonna be some kind of monster that killed bella and then attacked everyo;ne else. and if you didnt like the pregnancy how come u liked the sex? the sex lead to the pregnancy, if you didnt get that.\ i did like the wedding. the wedding was really cute. and i liked that she got turned into a vampire. all in all i thought it was a really good book and even though it was differnt i liked it a lot. and we're not "kissing her ass" we're stating our opinions. which isnt illegal, by the way.

sawabear i agree with you completely i guess i was alittle peeved that jacob imprinted on bella's baby, but then i remebered feeling bad for him because he might never get his happily ever after and now he did and as long as bella was ok about it then its all good.

-Jane- I HATE BREAKING DAWN!!!!! Okay, first off, the honeymoon---fine, until she gets pregnant!!!! Jacob should have fallen in love with Leah, and Leah should have liked the Cullens!!!! Edward should just get over himself and bite Bella already!!!!! They can get Jacob on their side and fix the treaty that way!!! I loved Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse, because they were great, Breaking Dawn was pointless and stupid!!!! Bella is dumb for letting that THING mutilate her and kill her!!!!! nataliespn I tottaly agree with -jane-.Not about the hating Breaking Dawn part because I loved the book but about Renesmee.I don't think she was necessary and i didn't like her.All of a sudden everyone cares only about her.Bella was willing for Edward to die to save Renesmee.I mean come on this is so not related to the other books where Bella would do anything for Edward to be safe.I loved Breaking Dawn but I hated Renesmee.I try to ignore her as much as I can.And of course I thank Stephenie for sharing this awesome dream she had with us and for creating Edward Cullen the best character ever but I think she made a mistake by putting Renesmee in her book.She was my only complaint about BD because I loved every part that SHE wasn't in.Sorry but that's my opinion PS:I don't belong to the Breaking Dawn Haters.

snoznoodle No. Think about how they're going to portray all this in the movie. Jacob imprints on a baby?? Yes, he's not "in love" with her but he becomes fixated on her. His whole world revolves around her now. There's an explanation but the fact is that when she becomes physically and mentally old enough (so when she's what? seven?) he can think about sex? How are they going to make this NOT look like pedophilia?? *gag* And Bella being severely bruised after her first night with Edward. WHY do we need to know about their rough sex?! 12 year old girls idolize Bella and are in love with Edward and here Bella is - ok with being physically hurt by her partner! The movie is going to have to be R rated. And how anti-climactic was the ending. Sure not everything needs to be resolved in violence but why the hell would you rope in these "cool" characters for just that purpose when nothing ends up happening. Any author knows you don't set up a big conflict like this, train your characters to fight and then talk your way out of it. If a chit chat is how you're going to resolve the book then don't set your readers up to expect something else. The result - biggest anti-climax in history. So I say, no.

Myf_1992 ^ Agreed with snoznoodle! I don't understand how the characters being immortal means they obviously have a happily ever after. I also think Bella becoming pregnant is kinda obvious, they fell in love, got married, what comes next...oh yer baby! I'm still a bit confused on how the hell that could happen though. I'm a bit confused on how Edward can have sex in the first place, but thats neither here nor there. The anti-climactic ending, it is nice to send the message, especially to younger readers, that not everything is resolved with conflict, but on a more mature level, with the whole build up and all, a war would have fitted in well, as well as the odd sacrifice. No one likes to see their fav characters die, but it gives a book edge, if forces you to empathise, and get sucked in emotionally. I just feel that it could have done with a bit more... reality in it. I know its fiction, but I think it would have made BD better.

Mrs-Grint Agree with snoznoodle and Myf. Bella becoming pregnant was too much of a 'happily ever after' for me. It's illogical. If you ask me, Bella should have died giving birth to the demon spawn, it would have made a MUCH better storyline, giving Edward something to live for - to care for his baby. But, no, she got chewed out and then her mother becomes a frickin' SUPERMODEL. And then Bella not acting like a proper newborn... Jeez! I see what you mean about LOVE not WAR kinda thing. But... it's boring. We want some ACTION! There was so much build up and I was mentally shrieking "YES! SOMETHING EXCITING!" but I was dissapointed. Again. So, summing up what I'm saying. Breaking Dawn was just fail. Utter fail. It almost gave me cancer.

Hellohoudini Stephenie Meyer wrote a fictional story about fictional charaters...anything can happen and there are no rules in the land of make-believe. I loved Breaking Dawn...it was my favorite of the sage. I love that there was the 'big fight' without the violence...I love that everyone got their happy ending..I even loved Jacob imprinting on Bella's daughter...not once was there any dirty or sick potraited in that other than the pure love he had in his heart for Renesmee. The Twilight saga is a love story and only a love story...alot of people forget about that.

Myf_1992 Nothing's only a love story. Every book and story has more than one theme. Harry Potter - Friendship, love, family, loyalty, classig good vs evil, growing up. Shrek - love, friendship, being an outcast. P.S. I Love You - love, friendship, death, greif, family, growing. You see, they are all about love, but they are about so much more too. And so is Twilight, its not just about love, its not just about Bella and Edward having a happy ever after. Give Twilight some credit, its much more than only a love story.

Deliciousgirl I'm absoulteley a BREAKING DAWN HATER. I for one disliked the final book of breaking dawn, I mean it's the FINALE it's supposed to be good it was a little bit. First of all, I hated the part when that jackass jacob imprinted on bella's baby.WTF? I mean if he couldn't have bella he goes for the next best thning her daughter... I'ts disgusting:and renesmee loves him back sayin "MY jacob" jacob my behind. I want jacob and nessie to get freaken burned, stabbed to death shot or somethin. I'm going to hat stephenie meyer a whole lot if she writes another book with jacob getting nessie preganat. -BLOWING STEAM- Second, no fighting at da end. I didn't want talking, i wanted ass-kicking. Third, I wanted Leah and Jacob to fall in love, it would've make more sense. Fourth, I wanted Leah to curse more at bella. Can't stand her she's not a good role model for teens our age. Thniking she's strong enough to go dangerous obstacles with edward. I admire her courage, but the girl been harmed numerous times taht i lost count. To make this finale, This book changed the way i saw the twilight series. IT'S STUPID AND I HATE IT. let me repeat:I Hate IT, I HATE IT, AND I HATE IT!!!!!

Mcmadness While I don't really like Twilight that much in general I will say this. Breaking dawn was probably the least entertaining of the series. Mostly due to its predictability. I could see just about every plot point coming. And considering how pretentious the whole series is I'm not surprised that it ended with a bs happy ending. But thats just my thoughts on it.

True Blood vs. Twilight

so, Ive been hearing alot about Twilight and True Blood and its similarities. in my opinion, you cant really compare the two. And for those who don't know what True Blood is, it is about a girl who can read thoughts except for the vampire's. They fall in love, and it goes from there. And I'm sure everyone knows about Twilight since this is the Twilight spot.

Point #1- they are both vampire related, but, one is for mature adults. I hear stuff on youtube, and how Twilight is for "sissy, teenage girls", and that really bugs me. Twilight is based on love, and affection, life choices, and adventure....
