Dear Twilighters,

Greetings to all of you from the link club! I'm Dearheart, and I'm one of the people who first founded the CAT.

Before I say anything else, let me clarify some things for you: No, I don't like Twilight and probably never will. That's just me. But I respect the people who DO like it, and I won't bite any of your heads off just because you happen to have different tastes than me. If you're crazy about Twilight, that's awesome! I won't ever criticize you for that or try to force you to "convert" to the anti side.

I'm writing this to you now because I want to let you all know, once and for all, that the CAT means you no harm.

We will not troll you or harass you. We will not come to your Twilight spots to bash what you love, make fun of you or intentionally stir up trouble. And though it might look like all we do is insult and criticize Twilight at first, we are not an anti or hate club.

To quote link "We are here because some people just want a place to get away from all the Twilight worship and find some good, thoughtful discussion about it. This is a sanctuary for us to hang out, poke intelligent fun at it, share our views and criticisms on the series and get some healthy debate going. Some of us may like Twilight, some of us may not. But we all respect that people can like or dislike whatever they want, and we respect the right to voice those opinions, even if we don’t always agree with them."

Now I'm well aware that most of our content is anti-Twilight...but that isn't because we're a hate club. It's because there aren't as many pro-Twilighters who actively contribute or speak up for their side. Because there are so few Twilight fans there, and fewer still who are 100% in love with Twilight, the more negative and anti opinions tend to overshadow the others. That's just how it is. The only way we can change that and even things out is if more Twilighters are willing to join in the debate and speak up about why they love Twilight.

I'm also aware that sometimes our members look down on Twilight fans and make bashing comments about them. And that's not cool. But I can assure you that this is the exception, NOT the norm, and that link We want the CAT to be an intelligent, peaceful place...and above all, we want it to be fun! The last thing we'd ever want to do is encourage nastiness or thoughtless behavior on either side.

Finally, I'd like to remind you all that a lot of stereotyping goes on in BOTH sides - pro and anti - and that not all people fit into them. Just because someone loves Twilight doesn't automatically mean they're brainless, annoying or spiteful to people who don't like it. And likewise, just because someone hates Twilight doesn't automatically mean that they don't know what "True Love" is, that they're jealous or stupid, or that they're mean to Twilighters.

That's another reason why I made the CAT. I wanted to break those stereotypes and find a way to bring pros and antis together so they could share their views and understand each other better.

I hope this clears up any confusion or misgivings you might have about us. Please know that we hold nothing against you, and that we understand if you don't like our club or agree with it. The important thing is that we respect each other. Right? =)
