Cullens residence

It was quite an intensive arguing. Rosalie, Emmett and most of all - Jasper was absolutely sure that police detective appearance was a sign of threat while others were a bit calmer.
"If this really has nothing to do with us then why was she searching our house?" Jasper was extremely persistent. "We should move on immediately"
"She wasn't searching. She just look through magazines which were in an open place and opened a drawer. It could be a simple curiosity. She's a cop after all." - Edward tried to be rational
"And the place? Of all the possible choices she came in front of our door." - it was obvious that Jasper won't give in.
"She said..."- Esme started but Rosalie didn't let her finish.
"Yes, we know what SHE said, but does that mean she's not lying? We shouldn't take any chance of risk."
"And what are you suggesting?"- Edward's face was stern.
"We have only one way. Leave this place" everyone looked at Carlisle. He hadn't said a word yet.
"Alice?"
"I don't know. I can't see anything but it's different then disappearing past when werewolves enter. It's like I couldn't see only her... Maybe she is so unimportant to us that she has no effect to our future or it's something else. I'm so sorry but I don't know" - she looked pissed.
"Don't worry, Alice. We'll solve this. If only we could know what she was thinking but Edward wasn't here last time so..."
"Wait! I have an idea!" Bella was excited "Edward still can read her mind. We can find her and "accidentally" bump into. So we start a conversation and somehow lead it to this day"
Everyone seemed to approve.
"But how do we know were to find her?" Jasper wasn't in a mood to miss anything.
"We can trace her by scent. It's pretty strong and I can still feel her"
"Should I go alone?" Edward was keen on finding out the truth.
"I'll go with you" - though it looked like Bella didn't want to leave him, she actually wanted to make sure Jasper won't come along and if he will - to be certain he won't do it in his way.
"Then it's decided. Bella and Edward will come and bring us back the news" Carlisle was happy to find an easy solution.
"Just don't forget your mission on a way, you two lovers" Emmett joked
"Emmett! Did you forget..."
"Yes, yes. I know I promised. One time lose the match and won't be able to joke for eternity" he murmured.

Motel "Horizon"

It was 2.a.m. I felt even more frightened then usual. This case was a bomb. I quickly replayed day's work in my head.Firstly, I met one old friend - he owned me a favor so I asked him to bring me some more data on Cullens. He worked in financial department so he was able to access information about accounts, stock, obligations and other stuff. And the main thing I found out was that Cullens were always quite rich but their wealth extremely increased in 50's – I guess it might be somehow connected to the fact that there are no earlier records about Alice and Jasper. When they have shown Cullens became from rich to impossibly wealthy: they had hundreds estates, accounts in many countries by all their different names, damn, they even had their own island somewhere near Brazil. And after examining all the news I got I realized the reason of this – the stock market. I had no idea how but they always bought only those stock which later became very popular and that means very expensive. And they always sold these stock before one or another event that made their cost decrease. But how? I had a few hypotheses: one – they caused events that were related with company, second – they have some important connections that always whisper about the upcoming rises and falls in market, third – what if they simply predict it? If there exists people who doesn't get old, it also might exist someone who can see a future.
But analysis of Cullens finances was only the tip of an iceberg. Since I was already in Seattle I decided to visit Mr. Jenks. You should see his face when I mentioned him Cullens. He was totaly freaked out. I just hope that he won't say anything to them about our little conversation. He didn't say much but I could read something in his eyes – he looked like a man who knows more than he can handle. I left him for now but if I won't get more information I will come back.
Finally I tried one long shot which gave me some more ideas. I used new advanced internet search created specially for police. I wouldn't have the right to use it but old friends sometimes can be a real help. So I typed all names they ever had. It didn't give much use until I wrote Rosalie Hale. One text at first seemed not to fit – it was an article about monuments of Rochester. I thought of skipping it but I always call myself observant and clicked on it. There were many pictures of Rochester's park, sculptures, fountains and other things like that until I found a picture where Rosalie Hale was mentioned. It was a gorgeous white marble angel photo, the text under it said that it was built by R.King Jr. for his missing fiancee and local beauty Rosalie Hale. I clicked on her name and the article from 1933 newspaper appeared. When I read it I couldn't move for a long time. What happened to her? They took her away from her family? Or does she wanted to become one of them? Suddenly I realized that once she was a normal human, only later she became the member of the family who doesn't change. What if I could have this opportunity? Never get old... I decided not to think about it. I was too tired to consider such possibilities so I gathered all documents and my laptop and hid it in a suitcase under my bed. Not very creative but this time it should be fine. I didn't have a time to fell asleep until I heard a loud sound, maybe a car hitting one another, followed buy rough man voice. I sighed, pulled on my jacket with a gun and a badge in pockets and went to check it.
I was right – two cars have collided. One was old jeep, other was silver Volvo. There were two teens standing in front of yelling old man. When I got closer I felt a wave shock – those teens were Edward and Isabella Cullen. I tried to act normally so went straightly to an old man.
"What happened?“ I asked him
"You want to know what happened? This brat just hit my jeep! I'm gonna take his head of!“ he was angry and stepped towards Edward so I stood between them and showed him a badge. Old man looked at my face like he couldn't believe a woman can be a cop.
"Of course this is not my jurisdiction, but if I see anything going into wrong direction I'm not going just watch“ - man looked even more angry but before he could say anything Edward came to him and gave something that looked like a bundle of cash.
"I hope this will help to repair you jeep“ his voice was pleasant but I could feel something threatening. When the old man went off he turned to me but suddenly his expression changed into, I don't know, anger? Confusion? Surprise? While he stared at me Bella started talking.
"Thank you very much. We are so lucky to have you near, this man was so angry. Thank you for interfering even it's not your jurisdiction“
"Oh, that's nothing. I chose to be a policewoman after all“
"But you're not from here? Hey, aren't you that officer that visited Esme, Edward's sister-in-law? Buy the way this is my husband Edward and I am Bella.“
"Nice to meet you, Bella, Edward“ his face didn't change. Maybe he knew something? Maybe all of this was directed in order to find out something about me? "I'm Lilibeth Wells and yes, that was me. Mrs. Cullen is a nice woman“
"Yeah, she is“ Bella smiled. I decided to be cautious and not to give them a chance to talk to me. "It's pretty late, you should go home, kids“ I felt so stupid for the last word. Firstly, they were probably much older then me and, next, she said they were married so that also showed they weren't kids anymore.
"We're so sorry, we don't want to interrupt you anymore“ her gaze went to my pajamas. Another reason to feel stupid. "Have a good night Mrs. Wells“
"Actually it's still Miss“
"Sorry“
"That's nothing. Good night“ and I went to my room but with a corner of my eye I could still see how Bella took Edward's hand and dragged him into their Volvo.

Cullens residence

"What does it mean you can't read her mind?“ Rosalie was angry. And even worse, Emmett tried to joke.
"Hey, bro, does your ability is getting weaker? Cause first was Bella and now this girl. You're not dumping Bella, aren't you?" And though it was clear he was joking Edward snarled.
"How can you even consider such possibility? I love Bella and...“
"Calm down, Edward. Lets think about for a moment. We haven't decided what to do yet“ Carlisle was keeping peace as always.
"Does she smells so appealing like Bella did too?“ Esme was concerned
"No. Actually her smell is much less noticeable then average human. And her silence is much different then Bella's if it's possible“
"How?''
"Well... Bella's mind is a free space. If I couldn't detect her by my other senses I would tell that there's no else with me, but this woman... I feel the presence of her mind but I can't hear a single thought. And what's more is that when I try to concentrate on her I slip. Like she would be pushing me away“
"Wow" Emmett's reaction was the same as others.
"That's amazing. I wish to know does she understand what kind of ability she has?" Carlisle was being scientific.
"Amazing or not but we have to decide is she a threat or not“ Rosalie was still angry.
"I have an idea“ - Jake spoke for the first time this evening.
