Chapter 3 - You Cannot Be Serious

"HAHA! YOU GUYS ARE HILLARIOUS!" I laughed. I laughed so hard that I fell out of my chair. Bella helped me up and the others just stared at me.
"You have to be joking, vampires?" I asked with a chuckle.
"We are Katrina, and we are offended that you take this as a joke," Carlisle said.
"I am very sorry."
"Its alright Katrina, but we are telling the truth. Please believe us," Jasper asked. I nodded.
Vampires--you cannot be serious.
"I'm gonna go," I told them, finishing my last cinnamon roll and walking out the door. I sighed in embarassment. How could I tell that they were telling the truth. Vampires were in my nightmares. With long fangs and blood-red eyes, waiting to kill me. But now I figure out my own sister is a vampire? I cannot believe this. I kicked rocks across the way to the cottage but stopped when I heard something in the woods. I started walking over, walking, walking until I came to this tall handsome man. He had golden eyes and had blood dripping down from his chin. A pale human body was infront of him. I screamed. He came closer and breathed in.
"Yum, you smell nice," He said. I got scared. I started running, not seeing myself making it. I tripped over a root from a tree and the thing came closer, only to be hit in the face by Emmett. Bella and Alice helped me up. Esme kissed the top of my head and Renee and Phil came rushing out.
"KATTY! KATTY! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!" Renee asked. I nodded.
"A mad man tried to hurt her. I think he was drunk," Esme said. I knew that person was certantly NOT drunk. He was a vampire, just like the rest of them.
I started crying, embarassed I walked away and hid behind some trees. Jasper fallowed me.
"You alright?"
"Im fine."
"I know that must be scary but dont worry, we only feed on animals," he told me. I was wide-eyed.
"You feed on bunnies and deer?!" I shrieked.
"Not bunnies, just deer and bears and mountain lion."
My mouth hung open.
"I have to go, talk to you later. Stay safe," Jasper said, walking off and grabbing ahold of Alice's hand.
I was all alone, just the way I liked it.
