Congratulations to x-menobsessed26 the winner of Fan of the Month for July. Here is the exclusive interview.

How does it feel to be the first X-Men fan of the month?
It's nice knowing that it wasn't just myself that sees that I'm all about the X-men, and others see it as well.

Who are your favorite X-Men?
This is a hard one, but obviously I love Jean Grey and Scott Summers. I'm also impartial to Alex Summers, Lorna Dane, Laura Kinney, Julian Keller, Rogue, and Remy LeBeau.

Any favored villains?
I like Mr. Sinister because whenever he is involved, it is usually leaves a complicated and fun storyline to follow, especially when it involves the Grey-Summers family. I have to say Magneto is also at the top for being the original X-villain, and Mystique for being one of the most kick butt female villains in comics.

Who are your least favorite characters?
Everyone who really knows me on this site knows that I can't stand Emma Frost. She seems like a nymphomaniac and someone who wants what she can't have...and gets it by knocking the other characters out of the books. I've also never really been a huge fan of Wolverine (that's going to get me some hate). I don't see what is so special about him, and to me he seems like a anger-crazed jealous "little man".

What do you think is one of the best X-Men stories?
*sighs* This question is probably the hardest one I have to answer. There are obviously plenty of great storylines. Again, anyone who knows me on here knows I really get tired of the way the media portrays the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix sagas, but I really believe that that is the best story, because you can find almost every other story in some way or another tying into that one. It is without a doubt one of the most iconic X-men stories and one that has eternally tied Jean Grey in the minds of the public to this uncontrolable cosmic entity. If you didn't have the Phoenix saga, there's no way that Madelyne Pryor would have survived in the comics the way she did, and then Cable/Stryfe/Rachel Summers/a bunch of other characters would never, ever have had their chance at print.

Do you have a favorite issue (or issues)?
I adore X-men #30 (Jean and Scott's wedding issue), The Uncanny X-men #294 (executioner's song pt 1), X-men #44-Lost and Found (published September 1995; not to be mixed up with the 60's #44), and X-men #97 (My Brother-My Enemy). The Phoenix/Dark Phoenix sagas can fit in there too, but those are some of the specific single issues I adore.

Do you like any of the T.V shows or movies better than the comics?
In my opinion there is nothing better than the comics, unless it's the REALLY new ones, because I'm getting really sick and tired of them killing off or majorly messing with every good character they had, but I love the way X-men (90's animated series) portrays the comic stories as close to what they were. X-men: Evolution is my all-time favorite t.v. show because of how it uses the characters and stories in ways I didn't think they could be. None of the movies come close to what I feel for the comics, and Wolverine and the X-men? No. Maybe if it would have had a second season to redeem itself I would feel different, but at this point in time I don't

If you could pick the storyline for one of the movies or T.V shows what would you pick?
I have to say I like the direction the second season of Wolverine and the X-men was going with Age of Apocalypse. If I had to start from scratch, that is exactly what I would do. People forget that if the public is intrigued they can make enough money to expand on what they had. I would start with the original 5 and work with the comics to come up with a plotline more modern and to what the comics actually were, rather than what a director molds through the comics in his own mind.

If you could change anything about the X-Men what would it be?
I can go on about things I don't like about the X-men right now, but I really can't think of a great way to fix it. If they expand their imaginations and bring back some characters, they could have a good thing going.

Congratulations again to x-menobsessed26. Make sure to nominate and vote who you want to be Fan of the Month for August.

This post is going to be a bit more of a rant than it probably should be, but it’s been weighing on my chest for the last few months since I saw the damned movie. I need to let it out. This is an OPINION piece. Just remember that.

X-men: Days of Future Past was a pretty good movie overall. There were parts I didn’t like, parts I liked, and parts I loved. I was truly impressed with it considering I had no hope going in to see it. My expectations were virtually nonexistent.

Like I said, the were parts of the movie I truly enjoyed. Many parts. I won’t go into specifics because I feel it’s...
