I fought the urge to retch after running for what seemed like an hour. I found Darkseid in the control room, setting a launching time for a few dozen missiles.
"NO!!" I yelled, pulling him away from the dashboard.
He sent me to the wall with a gust of Air. "Just can't stop, can you?"
I rubbed my head and felt some blood. He laughed at my expression.
"Think about it, Human," he said. "At least you get to see your dear friend before your planet is destroyed."
I threw a punch at him, and regretted it. His face was rock hard, and my fists felt numb.
He took me by the wrists and lit fire onto them, throwing me at the wall again.
"OW!!" I screamed, glancing at my burnt wrists.
"Or maybe I should save myself all the trouble and kill you now..." his eyes flashed red again.
I jumped out of the way and ran to the dashboard. I pressed a random button, which started a countdown for the missiles.
"Idiot!" I hissed at myself. I knew I should've paid attention in school.
Darkseid's laugh was deep and throaty. "There it goes... first location, Gotham City."
There were 50 seconds on the countdown. "Shut it off!"
Suddenly, boulders lifted me from where I was standing and threw me to the floor, at Darkseid's feet.
"I'll spend the rest of the countdown killing you, just to spare me more time." His eyes glowed red again, zapping my leg.
I looked horrifyingly at my right leg. It was still there, but it was as good if it wasn't.
I got on my knee and tried crawling out of the room, barely missing Darkseid's laser beams. I crawled into the next room, where the weaponry lay.
At the end of the room, was a giant bazooka-like gun sitting on a stand. I reached for it, and set it on my lap, aiming it at Darkseid.
His eyes narrowed slightly. "That is an atomic particle dispenser, able to disintegrate any atomic form."
"Then it should be able to take you too," I muttered, my hand on the trigger.
He raised his hands in alarm. "Kill me, and the Furies will come after you."
"I think I'll take the chance," I snapped.
To my surprise, he smirked. "You don't want Jeannette to come back, even if I did bring her back. You hated training her, for she took your powers."
"That's a lie!" I shouted, pulling the trigger. My shaking hands missed him by just an inch, but I was more than welcome to try again.
He actually looked scared. "Granny Goodness will wage war on the Earth!"
"Then stop the countdown!" I ordered.
He sighed. "Fine." I followed him back to the control room, using the gun as a crutch. He shut off the countdown, and put his hands up when I threatened him with the gun.
Robin ran in looking exhausted. "Erica, are you okay?"
"Barely," I answered. I put an arm around his shoulder, and he heaved me up, holding the gun.
"Let's go," he breathed, motioning Darkseid to the room we arrived in.

"Batgirl, in position."
"Wondergirl, in position."
"Kid Flash wishing he was at the buffet."
"Good. Maintain your positions. The show is about to start. Nightwing out."
"See? This transmission was picked up by security officials at the olympic celebration." G. Gordon Godfrey stepped in front of the image of the celebration in Rio De Janeiro. "Its obvious that this Nightwing was planning something. On top of that, Kid Flash admits that he would rather be eating than watching over some of the richest and most powerful men in the world!" Let's watch what else happened that day. See if you can find a connection with the heroes, and the murder."
