His head pounded and his eyes were sore. He tried opening them but found he couldn't. But he could still feel the fabric of his mask on his eyes. He sighed inwardly. His hands and ankles were strapped to a hospital bed; judging by the bars at the sides of the platform, he guessed it was a bed. He could feel a warm liquid entering his body. Sounds and hums filled the room (he guessed it was a room). Pain ran up and down his legs and his arms felt heavy. He heard voices.
“How is our patient?” a man with a heavy German accent asked.
“Everything shows as normal. Sir.”
“Excellent. Vhat about now? Vhat are his status reports?”
“The cells are in place, the sensors are showing pain in the legs. And..oh dear.”
“Vhat? Vhat is it?!”
“He's awake.”
There was a growl and then loud slam.
“Put him under. Quickly! Put him on the brink of death if you must. Just sedate him!!! Now!”
There was a ruffle of fabric and a needle was stuck in his arm. He groaned at the slight prick; it felt like a knife had cut him. Another liquid rushed into his bloodstream but this was colder than ice. The black world around him started to grow darker and he only had one coherent thought. Batman will save me; he always does...
