He was unsure how long he'd been walking. He wasn't even sure what part of town he was in at the moment. Fin had been aimlessly wandering since he left the school. How could this have happened? He had been so careful after the discovery of his powers, or at least he thought he had been. There was only so much you can do when everything becomes fragile enough to shatter at your mere touch.

His thoughts were interrupted when he heard sirens blaring and suddenly, a firetruck whipped around the corner. He quickly spun back around to see a column of smoke rising from a building a few blocks over. "oh my god!" he gasped. Fin began to run down the sidewalk, his gaze still fixed on the smoke column. He was able to get to the scene a couple minutes later. It was hell. Most of the apartment building was engulfed in flames. Police were creating a barrier around the perimeter of the building, whilst firefighters desperately tried to  weaken the flames.

Fin headed to the edge of the barrier, watching the building with grim astonishment. "Did everyone get out?" he heard one firefighter call to another.

"we don't know. Most residence of the building haven't returned home from work yet according to Building's owner. Bottom and middle floors have been evacuated"

"what about the top?"

The other firefighter shook their head. "no, there's just no way to get up there. It's a suicide mission."

Fin had still been staring ingot he deadly flames when something caught his eye. There was something in the window of one of the top floor apartments... It was hard to see with smoke billowing from most places. He squinted, leaning forward to try and get a better look. His eyes widened in horror. "There's still someone in there!" he screamed pointing frantically towards the top floor apartment. A police officer spun around to look at Finley and then back to the building. His mouth dropped open and he stayed silent for a moment before turning back to him.

"Stay back kid. The firefighters will take care of it." there was a sound of hopelessness to the man's voice. No one was going to be able to save that person he realized. Before he could really think over what he was doing, he was charging through the police barrier and towards the building.

"Hey kid! What the he are you doing?! Get back here!" any attempt to stop him, he shook off with ease. He put his hands up to shield his face from the flames as he bounded through the entrance to the apartment building. He coughed at the sudden inhale of smoke. It was. Early impossible to see where he was going and a hardship to take a single breath without feeling as if he was suffocating. He got down on all fours and began to crawl. He ripped off on of the sleeves of his blazer,  which he tied around his mouth in order to block out some of the smoke.

His vision was better now that he was closer to the ground. He could barely make out the shape of a staircase on the far side of the room. He began to crawl over, getting back to his feet as he entered the
Stairwell. Fin could feel the skin on his arm blistering as he stepped too close to a near by flame. "Damn it" he hissed. Of course it would heal momentarily, but it still hurt like hell.

It took than lover than he would have expected to reach the top floor and it was a bit terrifying how winded he was feeling. The door would not open when he tried to exit the stairwell, so he was forced to charge into it, splintering the door from its frame and stumbling into the smoke filled hallway. That's when he heard it.

Sobbing. It was coming from a nearby room. "hello?! Can you hear me in there?!" he pounded on the door and the sobbing only grew louder. He rammed he door open without hesitation, seeing a small figure through the smoke on the far side of the room. He quickly made his way over to the figure who he could now see was a small girl.

"who's there?!" she squeaked, coughing on the thick smoke.

"it's okay I'm here to help you" he respond, his voice sounding hoarse.

"what about my grandma?!" she wailed "she went for help and never came back!" " He barely had time to  respond before there was a sudden crash as something flew trough the window. His head whipped towards the source of the noise. He squinted. All he could make out was a caped figure getting to their feet.

"... Batman?" he asked astonished. Was he seriously in a burning building with Gotham's Dark Knight?

"Uh no... Robin actually." the figure approached, revealing a boy who was clearly much too young to be batman. "You know, the boy wonder?"

"I know who you are... I just-"

"Sorry man, but this isn't really the best time to be talking, I need to get you two out of here..." Fin was  confused by the expression on Robin's face. He was looking at him as it he'd seen him before and Fin was sure he'd most definitely remember had he ever met Robin before. Robin bent down next to the little girl and began to calm her.

Fin looked a Robin. Boy Wonder of not there was no way he'd be able to carry him out of here. The kid was half his size. Besides, he'd gotten in here perfectly fine, he was sure he could get back out. "take the girl. I need to stay here and find her grandmother."

"Are you crazy?" he blinked. "you have to get out of here. I'll find her aft-" Finley simply shook his head.

"honestly I think I'll fair better in here than you will" and with that he shoved his hand into an open flame to demonstrate. "Damn it!" he pulled his horridly burnt hand back out to demonstrate the rapid healing.

Robin looked stunned for a moment, but then just nodded. He picked the little girl up, moving back towards the window, pulling out his grappling hook gun. He briefly looked back at Fin. "hurry. I don't know  how much longer this building will stay up. And with that, both Robin and the girl disappeared from the window.

As soon as they were gone, Fin took off through the dizzying smoke. He couldn't imagine the grandmother had gone far. She had to be some where near by. "is anybody out here?!" he yelled as loudly as his oxygen deprived lungs would allow. There was no response. He wasn't leaving without the girl's grandmother though. That little girl could not be left with no one.

He began to kick the remaining apartment doors open looking inside frantically. He was having no luck and his body was really beginning to object to the lack of oxygen available in the building. His head was spinning. He moved to the end to the end of the hallway and that's where he found her.

The old woman was slumped over, clearly not conscious. He check her pulse. She had one but she didn't seem to be breathing. He'd have to move fast. He scooped the frail old woman up in his arms and lurked forward, nearly losing his balance. He REALLY had to hurry or they'd both die in here.

He felt along the wall  and with difficulty stumbled down the stairs. His vision was blurring now, making it even more impossible for him to see. He was so disoriented now, he couldn't tell where the door might be. Fin saw murky light coming from through the smoke. He moved towards it, hoping against hope it was the entrance. Suddenly he was in the day light once more, firefighters and policemen staring at him with disbelief. He moved forward, trying very hard to remain conscious and not collapse. He'd most likely crush the poor old woman. Thankfully the paramedics rushed over, taking the woman on a stretcher.

Everything was spinning. A police officer looked at him with concern. "You goin' to be alright son? That was the last thing Finley heard before losing consciousness.

Chapter Twelve:

Revenge landed on the rooftop.

"Things just went south. Holly and Cassie have been taken captive. Holly called for an immediate extraction."

Nightwing looked up.

"She wants you to "Call in the Calvary"."

Nightwing nodded. "All Team units to the school now. Priority Red. Blue, grab Mal Duncan and meet us there."

--------------------------------------------------------

"This is one hell of a school." Barbara muttered.

"There!" M'gann whispered, pointing at a room. The two crept inside and were stunned at what they found.

The girl was indeed there, but shrink to six inches tall. She looked...

Chapter Ten:

The fire raged. Nightwing watched as a tower crumbled. He grabbed another girl and dragged her off the school yards. He turned back and got a kick to the face. Blue Beetle ran over and helped him stand again.

"Hello, Nightwing, darling." the woman said. "Remember me?"

"Too well." Nightwing said, wiping the blood from his mouth as the rain continued to pour down.

"You need help, hombre?" Beetle asked.

"I'm fine." Nightwing said. "Get the girl to the hospital with Mal. And raise a line to Revenge. Tell him to get out. Now!"

Beetle nodded and ran off. Nightwing turned back to his adversary....

The team trudged back from the report into the cave. Wally collapsed on the couch.
“I’m going to go change” Artemis said walking to her room.
“I am going to report to batman” Aqualad announced before leaving. Wally started turning on his games. He plugged in two remotes. He was about to yell something, but stopped himself “was I just about to call someone to play with me” He thought. He looked at the two remotes he plugged in. No one played video games except him. He pulled out the second remote and started playing.
Aqualad came from reporting to batman. He walked down the hall...

11:00pm exactly. Artemis walked down the sidewalks of Gotham. She managed to leave Flynn with Lucas while she went to spend the evening with her mother. The usual sounds of cars and people still erupted late into the night. Despite her awful childhood Artemis still loved the city.
She finally came across the familiar, brick apartment building. She walked up the concrete stairs of the dimly lit halls. Artemis came to the 7th floor, apartment G-6. She reached into her pocket pulling out the key and putting it in the lock, unlatching it. She pushed open the door.
The apartment looked as it should....

Hauntings-Cat and Mouse

Under the bright sky of the morning, we played a game of cat and mouse. He was fast, I had to give him that. He managed to keep ahead of me, easily jumping the gaps between the buildings. He was just as much as a street rat as I was: hoping from one roof to the next, choosing ones that wouldn't be difficult to conquer unless they took you by surprise; occasionally picking a lower platform in hopes of faltering my step, not too low as he would take time to rid himself of the shock; planning his coarse, though ready to change it at a moment's notice.
Despite his skill,...

FORGETTEN: All Here.
The whole team ran out of the dark woods. They ran back to the bio ship. Quickly they left in the ship heading back home. They all were gasping for air.
“Ok… that was too close” Wally said with his hands on his knees.
“Well if you hadn’t gone running into the base, we wouldn’t have almost gotten caught.” Artemis told him.
“I have super speed they wouldn’t have seen me”. Wally said.
“Even if they couldn’t it wasn’t your order Wally” Aqualad said with a firmness in his voice
“I’m sorry, I ran because” Wally stopped. He thought for a while. “Huh...

Right where you want me

The whole team was hanging out in the mountain. Bored. Miss Martian was slowly flipping through her cook book in the kitchen. Artemis was making arrows in the corner of the room on the floor. She sighed when she looked at the giant pile she had and continued. Robin was at the couch watching the T.V and clicking buttons on his laptop glancing at pictures of criminals, who were already in jail. Aqualad was half asleep, flipping through channels. And Conner was just sitting, still with eyes on the T.V, asking constantly for Aqualad to go back to another channel.

Hauntings part II-Family

Walking down the hallway of my apartment, I strapped on my fingerless-gloves tightly. I reached up to push the swinging door open, but paused.
Drifting in from the living room was a melody played by not 1, but 2 pairs of nimble hands. I listened to the tune for a moment before entering the living space.
Jasper didn't look up as I entered, and neither did his partner. Her wings stretched relaxingly behind her, her clear eyes forwarded in concentration, Immunity looked much more healthy, and happy, than she had a week before.
Allowing the door to swing closed, I sat down...

Nightwing ran to the wreckage. He picked up a large piece of debris and tossed it to the side.

"Revenge?"

Barbara appeared next to him, yelling for Revenge's female counterpart.

"Infrared is picking up nothing." Barbara said. She put a hand on Nightwing's shoulder. "Dick, I'm sorry."

24 Hours Earlier...

"Wake up!"

Holly groaned. "Go to sleep, Cassie."

"Cassie?"

Holly woke up and turned to see another schoolgirl standing beside her.

"Sorry, thinking of my..best friend." Holly said,...

SNEAK PEEK

"How long will you be gone?" Sam asked.

"All Summer." Holly moaned, walking out of the school gates.

"Seriously?"

Before Holly could reply, a male voice shouted at Sam.

"Yo! Bro!"

Sam sighed.

"You know him?" Holly asked.

"If I did, he'd know better than to call me 'bro'." Sam said.

"You're Samuel Grant, right?" the dude asked, walking up. Holly glanced at him. He had a masculine figure, brown hair, blue eyes, and was dressed in Sam's favorite outfit*: a suit.

Sam sighed. "Yes, what do you want?"

"I've been looking for you for months!"

The man let out an ear busting bellow as Silver bit into the meaty hand covering her mouth. She tasted a rush of salty blood flow from the wound before she released the hand. The goon immediately pulled away and Silver whisked around, grabbing the Glock from his hand in a swift motion....

If Sportsmaster is here, we may need to pull the girls out." Blue Beetle said.

"No." Nightwing replied. "Holly hasn't called for an extraction."

"You're trusting her?" Revenge asked.

"Yes. She's been in this atmosphere where none of the others have. She'll know when is best to call for an extraction."

"You're dumber than I thought."

"You don't trust her?"

"As someone to fight with, not protect my back and DEFINITELY not put other people's lives in danger."

"The girls are NOT in danger." Nightwing replied.

Blue Beetle reached for his hamburger, but Sam and Nightwing batted his hand down.

"Yes, ma'am?"

"Do I look like a 'ma'am' to you?" The woman snapped.

"Thats what I thought." The teacher said, adjusting her glasses before continuing. "What worries me, Natalie, is how slow you are in disabling your target and hiding the body."

"Im just trying to do a good job, Ms. Happsnatch." Megan replied.

It was dark and cold making it even more depressing and frighting then it already was. Shattered glass, dead trees, and the dead of the night made it feel even more real then it seemed, the sound of a crashing car was heard as its horn let out a noise. His navy blue converse stepped through the glass and shattered bits of ruble, his black hair blew through the wind revealing his grey eyes that had sorrow and hopelessness in them. He fell to his knees looking helplessly at the car, the car door finally flew open and a weak bloody hand let itself up, the fingers gripped the side and she pulled...

Dark circles under his eyes only added to the emphasis of his sleepless nights like he feared this one would be.

He dried off and slipped into his Red Revenge suit, seeing no purpose in staying in civilian clothes. He took the note that had been on his mind....

I growled and did a belly flop onto my bed. I didn’t know what was wrong with me. No matter how much I told myself that they wouldn’t get to me, they did. Somehow, and it was tearing me apart from the inside out. Why? They didn’t even say much, and I was already feeling super guilty.
A gentle knock on the door sent me snapping up. Colin peered through the crack of the door. “Bella, I’m sorry.” He whispered.
