Scar laughed at me.
I had been playing Forza 3 on the Xbox 360, driving a Ferrari F430 Scuderia, which is a car that I wanted in real life. I had been in the lead in a multiplayer race when someone tapped my rear bumper and sent me sideways. I took pride in my cars and I was more upset about the damage that the wreck caused than the fact that I lost the race.
When I tried to explain this to Scar, she just laughed.
"But this is one of the most awe-inspiring Ferrari's ever! And it costs me to repair the car!" I insisted.
"Colby, you're such a dork!" she laughed. I swatted her tail and she glared at me and laughed.
I put the controller down and hugged my Alpha.
She hugged me back and planted a wet wolf kiss on my cheek. Her belly was slightly bigger from her pregnancy.
At that point, I decided to put my plan in motion.
I picked her up, cradling her like a baby, which she always loved. It made her feel super special.
I carried her out onto the upstairs patio, where there was one of those love seats.
We both sat down and cuddled under the stars.
A shooting star flew by overhead and Scar saw it first.
"I wish you would make love to me," she whispered in my ear. I grinned and kissed her nose.
"We both know that you're getting that wish," I whispered back.
My laptop was hooked up to the built in speakers and I used the Remote app on my iPhone to select a romantic playlist. It had been sent to me by my buddy Rich Spaur. I answered it and said, "What's up, bro?"
I listened to the caller, who was not Jon, and the smile on my face fell to the floor.
I hung up at the end of the conversation and slumped, my mind scrambling.
"Baby, what is it?" Scar asked sweetly.
"Jon-Jon's dead!"
