All was quiet and calm in the foggy forest. Deer grazed in the grassy areas, bears fished in the clear streams, and bees buzzed in joy while getting honey. But something was wrong, the forest got dark. The deer's ears had pricked at the sound of crackling leaves. Suddenly, a young girl raced through the trees, others following. The deer ran in a panic, not wanting to get hit by them. Four more kids followed the girl, gasping from the effort of running. Tears fell from their pale faces every three steps, staining the dirty ground. A boy took his place beside the lead girl but hung back a few steps, his eyes flaming blue fire. The lead girl looked back at her group, her eyes meeting his. She flinched, afraid he was going to turn back to where their dead parents were. But when he saw her flinch, he gave her a swift nod, signaling that he was staying. Assured, she looked forward again, leading them away from the town. The only thing they would be there for was to see is dead bodies, fire, and the people who killed them.
They stopped under a pine tree, resting at the trunk of it. For a long time no one spoke, keeping their gazes on the ground and thinking about what happened. "So what now?" The boy finally spoke up, looking at all four of the girls. They glanced up but didn't speak. "Oh come on, we got to do something!" He spat. The lead girl's deep blue eyes clouded and her black hair feel in her eyes, covering them. "What do you want us to do?" She asked quietly. The boy's gaze flickered to her. "Well Sera, i would think you knew what to do now, your leader." He pointed out and another girl sighed. "Leave her be James, we're all tired and frightened." Sera got up and looked at all her friends. "There is nothing to do right now, we need to think this through." She agreed. James shook his head and jumped up. "We should go kill those morons!" He yelled, his eyes ablaze once more. A girl with black hair and brown eyes glanced up in fear. "I don't want to go back!" The girl whimpered, hugging herself. A girl with brown hair and green eyes wrapped her arms around the scared one. "It's ok Bonie, we'll be ok." she assured her. "Lizzie, Mistina, what do you think we should do?" Sera asked. They both glanced up. "We should at least see if they're gone." Lizzie muttered, letting go of Bonie. "Yeah, and we should see our parents before it's too late." James added, stepping back at Sera's look. She just sighed and looked over her shoulder as she turned around. "Let's go then, but don't separate." Sera ordered, and without another word they feel in behind her as she lead the way back out of the forest.
