Artemis' POV
"Kid!" I screamed. He was unconcious and bleeding bad. Cheshire smirked at me and picked up Wally. "If you want your superhero boyfriend back," she said dangerously. "You'll have to find us." And with that, she was gone. "Artemis!" yelled Robin. I stood frozen in rage as Cheshire disappeared holding Wally's battered body. "Artemis!" yelled a voice. I couldn't even make out who it was. I just sank to my knees and hung my head. "Artemis!" I turned and Megan kneeling next to me. "It's okay..." the martian whispered, putting her arm around me. I stifled a sob and held my iron composure. I would cry later. I did not need people comforting me. This isn't your fault Artemis, Megan reassured me in my mind. I choked back another sob as I thought, It is. This stupid plan was all my idea. And now he's gone. Megan was silent. "We need to go home." Aqualad said, placing his hand on my shoulder. I sighed and stood up. "Well let's go." I slowly walked to the BioShip and sat down in my seat. "To home." echoed Megan quietly. I glared out the window and sighed. I will find you Wally, if it's the last thing I ever do.
(At the Cave)
We all walked slowly into the Cave. "Where have you been?" asked a voice. I turned and saw Black Canary with Batman, Green Arrow and the Flash. Great, I thought. Just what I need. "We had a stakeout." Superboy explained with a hint of defiance in his voice. "Where's Wally?" asked Batman. I looked at the ground. "He was taken by Cheshire." I whispered. The older heroes looked at me. "What?" exclaimed the Flash. "Who even told you to go on a stakeout for Cheshire?" I lowered my gaze once again. I had no confidence left. "It was Wally's idea." Robin stated, stepping up for me. "Artemis got jacked up a couple nights ago and he wanted revenge. Nothing we said could have changed his mind. And we weren't going to let him go alone." I sadly smiled my thanks to Robin. He nodded and Batman stared me down. "And this encounter was not planned?" His questioning gaze made me angry. I couldn't take it. I blew up.
"Okay look. I set everyone up. So I played both you and Cheshire's game. I know I screwed up! But I had a plan in the end to catch her! It didn't work! I understand that. And now Wally is gone and I don't know if I'll ever see him again!" I collasped to the ground crying. I couldn't hold back my tears anymore. There was silence as I sobbed. "We all have had a rough day," Aqualad murmured. "I suggest we talk tomorrow about a plan to rescue Kid Flash." Batman nodded slowly. "You all are ordered to stay in the Cave tonight. No one goes anywhere. Because I have a feeling Cheshire might be looking for you too, Artemis." he said. I shook my head slowly and stood up. "I'm sorry," I whispered, forcing myself to look at the Flash. He turned his head and I shook mine. I headed towards my room. "She apologized!" I heard Green Arrow exclaim. "And you didn't say anything?" I ran into my room before I could hear the Flash's disappointed comment. I leapt on my bed and buried my face inside my pillow. This is ridiculous, Artemis. Stop crying and think of a plan to get him back! I told myself sternly. I sat up. I was right. I needed to take action. I marched out of my room. "Okay listen up!" I commanded, surprisingly recieving everyone's attention including Batman. "I'm done moping. I screwed up. Got it. Moving on to a rescue plan." I started. "We agreed to start tomorrow, Artemis." warned Aqualad. "If you guys want to start tomorrow, that's fine. But just be warned that I am starting tonight no matter what!" The Team looked at me and Robin grinned. "That's the Artemis my best friend fell in love with!" he whooped. I rolled my eyes. "I think I know where Cheshire might be keeping Wally." I paused. "But I need to know if all of you are on board. There was an unmistakeable reply in unison. "Yes." I smiled. "Biayla. Do you remember that tech site we basically destroyed when battling Simon? Wally and I discovered it last time, but didn't have enough time to explore it. But my intel told me Cheshire was down there." Robin nodded. "It's true, there is an underground chamber. But my readings got no life signs." I smirked. "For once, your readings are wrong. Cheshire has these jamming devices that can mess up any technology that is trying to discover the place." Aqualad nodded slowly. "So what's your plan?" Batman asked. I smiled. "Here's what we're going to do..."
