My reasons why I like The Legend of Korra better than Avatar The Last Airbender

Ok. So this is another opinion article I am typing. On my Reasons for hating Asami one there were so many mean comments. I really hope they are not on this one. Because this is not about hating a character. It's about my reasons why I like The Legend of Korra better than Avatar The Last Airbender.

I have always like it better in shows, books or video games when the main character is a girl. I'm a female who likes it better when main characters are female. I don't hate Aang on Avatar The last airbender. I think he is a great character but I just liked main female characters better.

For Aang I didn't like it when he was in the ice berg. I thought that was sad he didn't have a family. A Mom and Dad. I don't like it when characters don't have a family it makes me sad :( I have loved Korra's story way better than Aang's story. Because Korra was not stuck in an ice berg for 100 years. Korra has a Mom and Dad who love her. I thought it was cool that she knew how to Water, fire and earth bend when she was only 4 years old. I thought that was cool and amazing for only 4 years old.

For Avatar The Last Airbender I had never liked any of the couple ships. I do like Zutara(Katara and Zuko) a little bit but I'm not crazy as some other people are about it. Makorra(Korra and Mako) is the only ship I am crazy about. Makorra is the only ship to me I think is good.

I really love The Legend of Korra music. I do love avatar's music too. But The Legend of Korra music is my favorite. I think the music is amazing. I always listen to The Legend of Korra music everyday. I love the music so much.

I really love The Legend of Korra story better. It's way cooler to me.

I have been more of a fan of The Legend of Korra than I have Avatar The Last Airbender. I have jumped up and down everytime I see the Legend of Korra. I have never done that with Avatar.

I Think the Legend of korra is such an amazing show to me. I enjoy it a lot. I do like Avatar but I'm more a korra fan. I'm a big fan.

It's ok if some of you don't agree with me.
Both of them are amazing shows but I love The legend of Korra better for those reasons.

joyfullness101 I love both! But personally I love ATLA better because you can't beat the classics lol. But I love how LOK is so different from airbender. How the characters are much older and I love how it takes place in the future! I do also like how the main character is a girl. I thought it was amazing how Korra could bend most of the elements at the age of four and I don't think she is a mary-sue. She has tons of flaws, which I've already listed in one of my previous posts. Even though I think Aang's story was sad, it made ATLA really interesting and intriguing for me! It was very creative. But I also like how Korra has parents who love her. It's a huge contrast from Aangs story which I think is very good! Everyone doesn't have to have a sad story like Aang's... hopefully we'll get more on the times Korra spent training.

noire18 Stop with the Mary Sue bulls*it just cuz a character is strong or has a rly bad/or rly good past doesn't mean he/she's a Mary Sue! No character deserves to be called a Mary Sue!

pumpkinqueen hatelarxene: Agreed, I don't even understand half of this. -_- She is so freakin biased, and has the most stupid reasons for liking/hating something I have ever seen. Just...WTF? So she doesn't like it when characters actually have a story to them and actually have to train to get stronger, instead of it being held out to them on a silver plater.

tsmith120 Well, I don't know that these reasons count as reasons as to why Korra is BETTER, per se, but people - this article isn't about listing reasons why the Korra is better in the first place. It's been made perfectly clear that this is an opinion based article. Of course it's going to be biased! They make sense in context of someone for whom these reasons have an effect on the enjoyment of the show, and since that's the context in which it's written, it's a perfectly sound article. You can't bash it for having stupid reasons, since it makes it very clear that the reasons are subjective.

EmoSasuSaku I have nothing much to say. But it seems you like LOK more because you're "nuts" about Makorra and don't like ATLA as much because you aren't crazy for a pairing? /: I also have something else. I'm pretty much a feminist to a point and I think it's great that they made Korra a girl but it's hard to find amazing heroines and I think they completely failed at making Korra a good character. Also with Aang having no parents, I think that makes the story much more interesting than having parents there. People who've lost their parents could relate and maybe that's why a lot of cartoon parents aren't mentioned or dead.

pumpkinqueen joyfullness101: Yes, because liking someone for being completely Mary-Sue with no story to her makes complete sense. Getting the boyfriend, having her parents, and everything in life being handed to her. And not liking someone for being bald and having a tragic story to them makes perfect sense as well. Emo: She hates any character who has a story to them. Because curse them for actually have a tragic life story.

pumpkinqueen Aang actually had the whole world hanging in the balance, Korra just had a freakin guy trying to give non-benders rights. Aang had no parents, just one who was like a father to him. And he finds out later he is dead. Yet, he is a sweet kid and always thinks about others before his love life and himself. While Korra put her training behind her love life. Aang loved Katara, but he didn't force himself on her. He was just himself around her, he was sweet to her. He got jealous, but didn't make gagging sounds at the people she liked. Like Korra did with Asami. Aang put his job as the Avatar first, while Korra put herself first. And when Aang put aside his job, it was to save his friends. Not for probending or to go get a girlfriend. Aang was a good person, and he didn't have parents. Korra is selfish and thinks only about herself, yet she has parents. Aang had to work hard for everything, training day and night. Korra, everything is handed to her on a silver plater. So clearly, you just likes shows that has a pairing you can drool over and the main characters gets handed everything they want. No messages about hard work and sacrifice.

I love the show because I love fantasy cartoons. I may love Makorra with all my heart but I love it because it's a fantasy show. *fire bends at you*

zanhar1 I remember you saying you liked Korra better for other reasons on other polls (like how you liked the characters better, and the music better, and the scenery better) some people just ignore your other comments and only see what they want to.

dclairmont I really love both, though a:tla had more seasons so I like it a little more because we get to know the characters better, though lok still has 3 more seasons....

Tritertitan I know this is an opinion article, but your reasons are completely nonsensical. The music from korra is pretty much all from atla. The music in both shows are pretty much the same, so saying you like the music better in korra makes no sense whatsoever. Also, you said you liked the story in korra better than the story in atla. Which one? There are four stories in korra. Lastly you said you liked it more because the main character was a girl. How does that make the show any better or different? Idk your reasons confuse me.
