John Ritter as Ted Buchanan
John Ritter as Ted Buchanan
Ted Buchanan was a robot duplicate of his creator, the original Ted Buchanan.

Creation
The original Ted, a sickly inventor in the 1950s, created the robot after his wife left him. It was intended to be “a better Ted” — possibly the man he thought his wife should have for a husband. The robot then kidnapped Ted’s wife and held her captive in his bunker until she died.

Joyce Summers
Subsequently, the cycle continued long after the original Ted’s death until he began to date Joyce Summers in early 1998 after redoing her computer system at her gallery. At that time, he fed her — as well as her daughter Buffy’s friends — cookies laced with a drug called “Dematorin,” which made them compliant and mellow, encouraging them to like him.

However, Buffy became increasingly unnerved by Ted’s actions. While it initially seemed she was just reacting badly to Ted’s intervening influence, it became clear that something was wrong when Ted threatened her after he caught her cheating at miniature golf.

In order to get a better understanding of what was going on, Buffy snuck into his workplace at Lorrin Software, where she discovered that Ted already had plans of marrying Joyce. That night, Ted, aware that Buffy went through his office, came into Buffy’s room while she was on patrol, where he discovered her weapons and diary, which contained information about her life as the Slayer. Believing she was delusional (and not realizing that vampires do exist in Sunnydale), Ted tells her to toe the line, or else (as he puts it), he would show the diary to her mother and Buffy would “spend (her) best dating years behind the wall of a mental institution.”

Ted refused to give Buffy back her diary and smacked her when she didn’t take her hand off of him; with that, Buffy, grateful for what she saw as an excuse to hit him, unleashed her Slayer wrath and overpowered him just as Joyce walked in. Despite her mother’s pleadings for her to stop, Buffy continued to kick Ted around until he fell down the stairs and broke down.

Destruction and Legacy
Buffy: “I wouldn’t worry. He’s not coming back.”
Joyce: “I wish I could be so sure.”
Buffy: “Trust me. He’s on the scrap heap... of life.”
—Buffy and Joyce Summers

Although Ted was declared dead, he later reactivated at the morgue and angrily returned to the Summers house — but was now even more unstable because of his damaged state. He knocked out Buffy in her room just after his ‘skin’ was pierced when she stabbed him with a nail file, revealing the now ruptured wires in his arm. Covering his sleeve, Ted proceeded to reunite with Joyce, and subsequently knocked her unconscious when his instability was raised to the point where he became completely unreasonable.

Buffy ultimately destroyed him by beating him with a fry pan, thus exposing the metallic under wiring in his face. The body of the robot was then disposed of in a scrap heap while some of his parts were kept by Willow Rosenberg as study components, which further helped her in the aiding of the Buffybot.

Personality and Traits
“I’m not wired that way!”
―Ted

Unlike Warren Mears’ creations, Ted’s robot was an independently adaptive and socially prevalent being that could maintain himself and even get a job at a telemarketing company selling software and earning more sales than any other worker, which was extremely impressive considering he was built more than five decades before Warren’s own robots. Ted was also said to be an impressive cook (though whether his cooking was that good or simply the drugs he laced them with remains unknown).

However, his programming made him follow a strict code of how to act, obeying rules and strongly holding that “right is right and wrong is wrong” — which led him to overreacting when Buffy attempted to cheat at mini golf where he threatened to attack her, not willing to tolerate that kind of “malarkey” in his “house.” Similar to the Buffybot, a specific degree of damage could create flaws in his system, causing him to randomly short out and make irrelevant statements.

He also apparently held 50’s social norms, as he claimed he didn’t take orders from a woman when Joyce made a mere suggestion.

From my perspective, the character of Ted is really neat, and John Ritter (September 17, 1948 — September 11, 2003) sure did an awesome job bringing him to life the way he did. Plus, the episode Ted is really neat, as it has mystery, suspense and romance (which are three things I like in a story as well).

Also, I found out that John once said on the Season 2 BtVS DVD commentary for Ted that the episode was a big influence in helping him to understand his own step-daughter.

Plus, the plot of “Ted” is similar to that of the 1987 horror film The Stepfather — loosely based on the life of mass murderer John List — where a teenage girl has suspicions about her new stepfather, who is like Ted in that he has an obsession with “old fashioned values” and having the perfect family from the 1950s (although Ted was a robot, whereas Henry Morrison/Jerry Blake was human), and thinks that he is a serial killer who murders the women he marries when they fail to live up to his expectations (which are, unfortunately, exceedingly high).

Regardless, I give this episode (and its title character) a double thumbs-up, as well as a rating of five stars, too. I also highly recommend it to any fan of John Ritter as well (RIP)..

Series Television
The Friends episode titled The One Where Chandler Can't Cry, included a scene in which Phoebe's sister, Ursula Buffay starred as Buffay the Vampire Layer (parodying Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and perhaps alluding to real life Buffy adult parodies). Ursula Buffay uses her twin sister Phoebe's name for the credits.

The Simpsons episode, "Treehouse of Horror XVI" originally aired in the US six days after Halloween. The last of three segments was entitled, "I've Grown a Costume on Your Face" and had similarities with the Buffy episode "Halloween" (which had aired eight years earlier):...

I have read many opinions regarding the breakup of vampire slayer Buffy Summers and her Season Four/Season Five boyfriend, Riley Finn on many discussion forums, blogs and message boards about ”BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER”. The prevailing viewpoint seemed to be that Riley had ruined the relationship with his behavior and attitude in Season Five. I might be one of the few fans of the show who might harbor another opinion. Then again, I might not. Let me explain.

At the end of Season Three, Buffy’s vampire paramour – Angel – had decided it would be safer for her if he left Sunnydale and...

Well, many of you may have noticed that in many other spots there is a contest which is called; Best word to describe contest.
The rules are sumple. The one who makes the contest puts one character name and you have to give him 1-3 words with describe him/her best.
After 7 days or when there will be at least 5 different contestants he'll make a pick. The winner will revieve props and his name will be on WINNER LIST.
If anyone wants to start this contest just write it down. Otherwise I am going to make it. If you don't want this contest to be made say why and please be kind....
I think that it is going to be something very entertaining and will keep this spot active for a long time.
From the previous storylines, Spike and Buffy were now reunited in Rome, from troubles of Buffy's addictive relationship with Spike in the past.

The couple is starting to get the back of swing of things. Buffy and Faith are still training the new potential slayers from all over the world. The have been finding new slayers with wicked bad attitude adjustments. Faith took take care of that it.

The next day, Buffy got a call from Angel that he needs her and Spike's help to defeat a dangerous demon called "Chaos Demon"that can only be killed by one slayer and her two vampire lovers. Angel figures...

As some of you may have noticed, I always support Bangel instead of Spuffy.I mean I thought that Angel was the best lover for Buffy and not Spike.I watched all the BTVS episodes hundreds of times and nothing could make me change my mind.Until one week ago.
I decided to watch Angel.I didn't do it before because I was mad he left Sunnydale.I have watched only the first season but I liked it very much.
The most important thing is that I made up my mind.I saw how perfect the friendship between Angel and Cordelia is and as I was informed by a friend of mine they will make a very good couple.

I love th episode 'Chosen' but here are 4 things I think would've made it even better.

1. An explanation for the fact that the turok-han were so much weaker. In their first appearance one nearly beat Buffy to death, but then Xander and Dawn can take them on? I've heard fan explanations, some saying Buffy just wasn't prepared and was emotionally fragile at first, but she's a slayer, that wouldn't take her to Xander's physical level. Some saying Spike's amulet thing weakened them, or that the First made the original one stronger like he did with Caleb (I tend to lean towards that) But a second...

I've been seeing something different about the two characters. Buffy a slayer who is off track with her slayage and Spike a vampire with a government chip in his head and fallen in love with Buffy.

SEASON 6

Buffy and Spike's relationship in this season was about understanding, compassion, denial, feelings developing so quickly and rape. Buffy who was brought back to life by her own friends being ripped out of "Heaven" crawling out her grave. Feeling very shacky, and disoritented from crawling a grave. Spike his character about having that bad boy act around Buffy, making her feel for him very sexual....

Since its begining I have been a dedicated Buffy fan. Since the first fight in the Bronze, to the school blowing up, to the showtunes of Once more with Felling and to Sunnydale becoming nothing more then a giant crater.
This is how i remember a show that changed the the face of television however lately ive been wandering throuh fanpop and several other sites and Ive found something that bothers me.What I remember this show for its riviting storylines, in-depth characters and excellent plot twists but from the what ive seen lately this show might as well have been only about its couples.

Alright, well, this soapbox isn't very good, cause it got written in a hurry, but it's basically my thoughts on souls in the Buffyverse.

“We can love you know. Quite well, if not wisely.”

So said by Drusilla to Buffy in Crush. Those words break down everything the council ever taught Buffy, that demons couldn’t love. The soul vs. soulless theory is that a demon can’t feel emotions, but, if that is true, than how could he feel hate? Anger, greed, lust. Those are all emotions. So is love.

“The saddest thing in the world is loving someone who use to love you.”

It is only with Angel...

In my opinion, Oz is one of the most adorable boys on the show. Not only is he incredibly sweet with his charming and calming voice, not to mention his guitar playing skills, but he really is just adorable.

1. Oz's face is a unique and quite a pretty one. Long and skinny, with the best hair, next to Spike. Oz's hair color changes frequently. One day it's brown, next day it's black, then it's blonde, now it's bright orange. I think his best color was orange. Not only did it just seem to match his personality better, it matched with Willow. His rare smile is like everything else about him, adorable....

So, all of us already know that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of the greatest shows ever made, right? Not only does it have romance, action, horror, and wit, it’s packed full of timeless themes that stay relevant. One of those themes being that growing up sucks.
Here are some of my top coming-of-age lessons we can learn from Buffy the Vampire Slayer about those trans-formative years.

No means no
Cameron comes on a little too strong

This one might be a little controversial, but let's forget the MAJOR Spike blip in season 6 for now. For the most part, Buffy knows how to stand up for herself...
