1. She's got an amazing taste in books
I know good taste is a subjective matter but COME ON! She reads all the best books, she reads them fast & she is always reading something! I love that about her so much. Half her guys are from the books as well (which truly makes making countdown picks harder cause I have no idea who would portray the characters XD) and that is what I love about her, too! Everyone always knows to come to Ems if you're in need of a good book.
2. She's open-minded
I seriously can tell Ems anything, and she won't judge me. She has never judged me and I have every faith that she never will. She doesn't see people the way I do, the way most people do, I think. See, most people see others as like.. well, bad people, as threats or whatever, like I do, but Ems doesn't. I think she has this amazing way of seeing the world. I wouldn't call her an optimist, because she's much more than that. I can't explain it. But be sure that you can tell her anything and know she won't judge you.
3. Game of Thrones
I had to make this a reason of it's own because this means so much to me. Most of you might not understand what I'm yammering about, so I shall explain.
I love Game of Thrones more than life, more than anything, basically, and a few months ago I got Ems to watch it, too. I don't know how I did it, but she just started watching it and started liking some of the characters and we started talking about it loads. She doesn't love it as much as me (no one does XD) but that's ok because I didn't even think she'd watch it! A lot of people say they'll do things for you, they'll watch the shows you like, they'll watch a vid you link to them, but 90% of them don't do it. So imagine my surprise when Ems truly started watching Game of Thrones. That's when I realized, once and for all, that she's the best friend anyone could ask for. I know this might not seem like a big deal to the rest of you, but to me, this was everything, so.. thanks, Ems!
Oh, and P.S., it's awesome you watch it now especially 'cause Robb Stark is my #1 baby and you actually, for once, KNOW HIM! :D
4. Her brains
Ems is super smart, even smarter than me XD Hah, joking, that's not difficult. But she is smarter than me and smarter than lots of people I know. She's got the brains to do whatever she wants with life, whatever she would desire, and I have every confidence in her that whatever she ends up doing, it'll be great. Just like she is. And she's also got that practical intelligence, the common sense that most people lack. She knows what to do when things get difficult and she knows when people feel bad. I think she can really read people. Like me, she reads me. She read my mind a while ago when she said she ships me with Robb Stark/Richard Madden, who had JUST become the love of my life XD So an Einstein & a mindreader. Watch out!
5. She's a loyal friend
Like I've already made clear, Ems is the best friend you could ask for. She's patient, she's caring, she's kind, she's funny. We have these really, really long talks through PMs and it often takes 4-5 messages to get to reply to them all, and honestly it always takes me at least an hour, but it's totally worth it. I remember when I first started talking to Ems. That was back when Christian Bale had just become my number 1, I reckon, and I was all in love, and Ems totally listened to me when I talked about Batman and Terminator and she tried to understand the fandoms because I cared about them. Not a lot of people do that. And now she did the same with Game of Thrones, before she started watching it. And we even ship a couple in it together! DANY AND JORAH FTW, BITCHES!
I keep bringing up Game of Thrones, stop me. Anyway, I desperately wish I could meet Ems and we could go travelling around the UK, and she'd have to stop me from stalking Richard Madden, if she could. She couldn't, and we'd probably both get arrested and then that'd be awkward but I'm sure we'd get out of the situation. I would make up for the mess with finding Robert Pattinson for her and then they'd get married and live happily ever after. And what about me? Well, I'd just go find Richard Madden again once Ems would be too busy with her husband to stop me ;P Ok, now I'm getting creepy. What I mean is that we'd have an epic time, I know. I hope we will get to meet someday! You're the best and I don't know what I did to deserve a friend like you.
6. She's modest
Did you know that Ems and I are writing a fanfic? If you didn't, shame on you. Everyone should read it for the simple fact that Ems writes it. She is an incredible writer. And I don't say that about a lot of people. Writing means the world to me, so when I call someone a good writer, I mean it. Anyway, Ems and I started planning this fanfic months and months and months ago, and I wasn't sure we'd ever get to actually writing it, but we did! And I was DUMBFOUNDED when I saw how good of a writer Ems is. Not that I'd doubt her, but she told me she was not a good writer and that she hadn't written much before our fic. Well, she writes like a professional and I can tell which books she's been reading from the way she writes, which is not a bad thing at all! She is an epic writer, 10 times better than me, and you know, I'm not half-bad, either. So I hate that she thought she wasn't good, and if we had not written together, she might not have realized for a while what a great writer she is. I hope she knows that now.
And it's not just her writing! Her icons, her talents in real life, too. Her ability to be a great friend. I just.. I cannot. I just can't. Please give yourself more credit, Ems, it hurts me that you don't realize how great you are!!
7. Her beauty
Ok, this might seem a bit creepy to say stuff like this online, but I promise, I'm a girl, a girl who has a boyfriend and is in love with Richard Madden, besides. No need to worry! :D
So, I've only seen one picture of Ems here on the CBF and wow. Just wow. Again, beauty is subjective, but come on. In the picture she was exactly like I pictured her (except when I picture her as Ashley Greene or Lily Collins.. :P). Beautiful, graceful with a kind smile on her face. I know Ems is more than a kind, pretty face. I'll get to that in the next thing. But anyway, she was just so.. Just like I pictured her, like I said, which only proves in my opinion that she's true to herself, she doesn't pretend to be anything she isn't. I don't know if you know what I mean, but I think sometimes you can kind of read a person's personality from their face, and Ems' face said "Ems". I just... you're my Lily, Ems, and Lily Collins is beautiful, but believe me when I say this. You are more beautiful. And I. Don't. Lie.
8. Her strength
Sometimes I feel like Ems is only connected to all sweet things. Loyalty, kindness, blah blah. She is all that, of course, but she's more than that. I feel like no matter what will happen to Ems, she'll get through it because she's got her strength and I have every confidence in her that she will be able to get through anything. Physically and mentally. Again she'll probably deny this, because she's modest, but just.. just because someone is kind, it doesn't mean they can't be badass, too.
9. Her humor
Ems is hilarious. I always laugh while reading her PMs, which is often. She has her own jokes and she always at least pretends to like my jokes XD We often talk about fandom stuff, and sometimes we joke about some of the stuff, it doesn't sound interesting now, but it's always funny to read what she's written. Actually every time I see that there's a new PM, or a wallpost, from Ems, I smile, because I know that whatever she has written will be awesome and I cannot wait to get to talk to her again. She's such great company!
10. Everything else
I know I sound like a cliche slut but I could go on and on about how amazing Ems is. No joke. I've already listed my favorite qualities from her, but they're only my favorite ones. There's so much more to her and god, I'd give like anything (except Game of Thrones XD) to have her understand that. So, Ems, if you like me at all, please understand that everything I said here is true and that I value your friendship above most things in life and when I call you the best friend anyone can ever have, I mean it. I mean it with all I have, and I just really want you to know that I love you and I hope you have the best birthday ever. If anyone deserves it, it's you.
