Damon & Elena Article: Elenas real reason for choosing stefan

I think elena choosing stefan was like a sacrifice for elena ,she felt as though she was indebted to him for saving her life ,and so she chose him,this actually proves that she loves damon more ,because she knew if she was to be with damon ,she would always feel guilty that she didnt choose stefan because he saved her life and all,which is why she "had to let him go" ,elena didnt choose love ,she chose "responsibility",meaning the responsibility which she thinks she has ,in other words "stefan".

I think my theory will be backed up in season 4 ,eg,because in the finale , stefan did not save elena,so in season 4 i believe that elena will not feel as though she has that "responsibility" for stefan...and whoever says that elena does not have the exact same feeelings for stefan ,because she is a "vampire" who has the ablity to "shut of all human emotion" and "thats why she does not feel for stefan as much as before" needs to shutup and smell the blloood (LOOOL) ...and stop making excuses

Guys you are probabli gonna want to smack me for saying this but ,i feel as though when elena really really really wants to be with damon ,damon will kinda be like no ,and i think it will be because of stefan and guilt ect ect ...i dont know why...other reason why i think something like this is likely to happen is because the vamp diaries ...take ages to give us delena fans what we want ...anyway its just a opinioun x

clairmxxx i agree with this^^ you shouldn't be with someone out of responsibility.... thats not going to make a healthy relationship, surely :s and thats exactly why elena is with stefan, outta responsibility... shes sacrificing her happiness and what she truely whats for him, but NOW he has let her die! Even if she asking him to take Matt first she is still going to be angry and upset that she is a vampire and she will in the end blame him i think, maybe not fully but a part of her will always have that nagging thought that, if only he saved me.

I have this strange feeling that after Damon realizes that Elena has not died died loool ,and that she has become a vampire ,he will keep to the promise which he made stefan and leave mystic falls ,without meeting Elena,i mean think about it the fact that a scene has been created where meredith tells Damon about the vamp blood ect ect has been done for a reason,i dont think he will stay,i mean come on there needs to be a twist its vampire diaries,i dont think elena will wake up remember what damon made her forget and then they meet straight away,i think she will remember and by that time he will be ...

Before Season 2 drew to a close, it had not been particularly DE (or indeed, love triangle) friendly. Instead, the writers chose to do the unthinkable, and throw the triangle right off its tracks, slowing the development of DE's relationship right down until you began to wonder if it was moving anywhere at all.
