Our troops have been bravely fighting for far too long.
Our troops have been bravely fighting for far too long.
Writers Note: This has some strong opinions. I wrote it for my blog. Therefore, it was meant to state my opinions loud and clear with no respect for others. Sorry about that guys, but if you're sensitive, proceed with caution. I'm also very liberal.

Well, we've been in Iraq for five years as of Wednesday. And now we might be getting into the same thing in Iran. Nothing is certain, that's just my opinion. You think they'd actually learn after the first time. You know, maybe if we've been stuck in this damn place forever where it's kinda hard to withdraw, that we shouldn't do it again. But apparently that's not the case. Apparently, the Bush Administration is intent upon screwing up our country before the next President takes over.

Speaking of, I really think I will explode if another republican gets in office. Because all John McCain is going to do is KEEP us in Iraq and PUT us in Iran, killing thousands more people. I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to go with a surge of troops in and then killed them all. That would probably mean a draft. More people dying. Death, destruction. All because ONE person, Bush, made the decision that "Oh Iraq has weapons of mass destruction" one day on what seemed like a whim, has lead to us staying in Iraq for this long.

This is why I support the democrats. This is why I want Hillary or Barack to win. Once one of them is chosen, I do plan on campaigning or making phone calls or whatever I can do to help them win. I so badly want a democrat to win. Last night, I was feeling so angsty about the election that I was in tears with fear for the future of our nation. Which is kinda ironic if you think about it. All the Republicans are trying to do is make us fear. That's their goal it feels like.

But I don't want to stereotype republicans. I'm friends with a republican for chrissake, and he's a wonderful guy with a huge heart. Not all about that fear and whatnot. He's just a regular guy and even he agrees that we should be out of Iraq by now. However, unlike me, he believes Bush was telling the truth and had real reason for sending us into Iraq. That they actually might've had nukes pointed at us and that was reason to send in an army. I don't agree. I believe that there was no reason that we should've headed into Iraq on a whim. None what so ever. It was an idea that maybe they had weapons of mass destruction. There weren't any facts to back it up. But we just sent all the troops in there with no idea.

And now the same thing is happening in Iran. We're going to be in two wars that I feel are completely unnecessary. Imagine how many people will be dying every day. This war has been going on as long as World War II. And THAT is what's known in my world as a necessary war. Because, if we hadn't gone in there (based on the factual knowledge that the Nazis were killing millions of Jews) then more people may have died. If any of our troops died there, it was for what I feel is a worthy cause. It was saving the lives of people being persecuted for their beliefs. That's a reason to send in an army. Not because we think that just maybe they might have nukes. Possibly.

One of my friends thinks that if you don't support the war, you don't care about the troops. I think exactly the opposite is true. By wanting to end this war, and bring our troops home, we're supporting them by saving their lives. Preventing them for being killed in battle for this seemingly worthless cause. That's really supporting our troops. Not sending them letters and not using metal and cutting back on food rations like they did in WWII. Supporting them is not helping them in battle, sending good vibes to help them do well. It's taking them out of it. Then, once they're safe and home, we can help them recover from the massive scar that they get from being in war. Drug addictions, painful memories etc. It's not that I don't believe in the troops or have faith in them or want them to do well. It's just I don't think they should still be there. As one of my friends so wisely states "We shouldn't have to support them. They should be at home
with their families, not fighting for a cause that they don't believe in." He then goes on to say "It's one of the reasons the American's lost the Vietnam war. low morale. They didn't believe in what they were fighting for, but Vietnamese communists did."

Now, you have to ask yourself "Well, we found that they didn't have weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Why are we still there?" The reason is because we're propping them up. Supporting them because they can't really handle themselves. We're meddling in their country, that's all that we're doing by staying in Iraq. Yeah sure whatever we're "helping" them but I disagree. I think all that we're doing is causing trouble. Iraq, while having an evil dictator, was doing somewhat fine without us. All we're doing is causing them problems. And completely unasked. We just barged right in and decided to start a fight.

In conclusion, I want this war to be over. Now. It didn't have any affect on be until I found out that my friend's dad died over there. That made me cry. For him, for his dad. For the effect it would have on his life. This war is ruining lives. Family, friends, brothers, sister, sons and daughters are being slaughtered every day. And though it may seem like it's at the hands of the Iraqis, I think it's at the hands of our government.

With all due respect,
Abby

Notes: I'd like to thank Gavin for some incredibly insightful views quoted in this post. Also Michael for being the only Republican I know. Also Alex for not having an opinion. I would put this in the debate spot if it were not for the fact I want this to be read by most EVERYONE on fanpop, not just the avid debaters.
No more war, bring them home and finally end this thing. Please.

Hello fanpoppers. I'm Meeka if you don't already know me and I write this article to seriously ask, what the fluff is going on here?

Problem #1:Wall posting

A lot of people are having problems with this, including me. And I'm seriously upset. For me it's been happening to me for 3 weeks now. I've signed in multiple times to see if that would fix it. I've used different computers. And nothing seems to work. I'm mad because when I see my friends post some thing I get mad because I can't...

Okay, this has been brewing in me for a while and I think that now is the time to bring it all out into the open.... I speak of the burgeoning conflict that is the rating-to-comment ratio.

Lets break this down; On numerous occasions, I have added various links to many different sites, and always venture back to see what people think of the link, or their reaction to it (be that positive, negative, or even criticism towards me). But over the last few months it has become increasingly obvious that people are rating the link, but leaving no comment!

The way I see it, its like breaking into your...

On some clubs this is not a problem. However in more active spots people tend to check mark the box so people will view their pick more. It is VERY stupid there is three types of picks spoiler, not spoiler, and ones that need to be marked spoiler. I shall now give some examples of each.

Ones that are marked but shouldn't be

1 link

2 link

3 link

AS you can see these when opened are just normal favorite character questions not spoiler.

Ones that need to be checked but aren't

1 link

2 link

3 link

Yes I created these in case
you were wondering.
They are innocent however i forgot to check the spoiler box so...
