~Hungary~
Almost a week went by when Austria sat next to me for breakfast. The sun was just about to come out from behind the hills. Italy was still sleeping in his bed. I pushed my pancake around in the "syrup". It tasted more like preservatives.
"Aren't you going to eat?" he asked, reading over the sheet music he had been working on.
I stayed quiet, and just kept pushing the pancake. I was to preoccupied with my thoughts to talk to someone who wouldn't listen to me anyway.
Austria set down the sheets and looked at me. "Hungary... I feel like we should talk."
I almost jumped out of my seat. Talk? We never talk anymore! I was almost giddy.
"I feel that you haven't been giving Italy your full attention. Should I find someone to watch Italy for a few days so you can be able to watch him correctly again?"
I was completely dumbstruck. I haven't been giving Italy my full attention? Says the man who refuses to give the poor boy the time of day.
I stood up. I couldn't do this. I couldn't look at Austria at this moment and say that love him.
I looked at my ring. It looked so wrong. So wrong on my hand. I took it off and dropped it on to my plate, and the syrup clung to the silver.
He stared at the plate as the syrup slowly sunk the ring and engulfed it. He sat motionless as a pushed in my chair. It was only when I spoke did he move.
"I'm sorry Austria, but I can't stay. I've tried to hold on, I've tried to show you the problems, but you didn't see. You wouldn't see it. I loved you, so much, and I'm sure you did too, but now, I don't think either of us know for sure anymore. I need to know for sure."
He nodded slowly, "I've sensed it too. I just hoped that you wouldn't." He fell silent and kept watching the ring.
Unable to watch him anymore, I packed my things, kissed the sleeping Italy's head, and came back downstairs.
As I passed Austria, I whispered, "I'm sorry." He didn't move. He just kept watching the plate. He stayed like that I left the house. I shut the door, and breathed in the morning air. The sun warmed my skin. I smiled despite the fact that I no longer had a husband. I had something much better.
I had freedom.

I woke up super early that day because West wanted to do something. Probably training. Like I need training. I'm too awesome for needing dumb stuff like training.
Besides, I just wanted to sulk some more.
I heard heavy booted feet coming up the steps. The steps came to the bed and I felt something poke my head. "Get up!"
"No," I mumbled, "I'm too awesome to help you with stupid exercises." I tried to burrow deeper into my pillow. Gilbird pushed off my head, where he was sleeping, and fluttered above the two of us.
Then the world tilted, and I landed on the ground with a bruise on my thigh.
"Don't ever flip my mattress!" I shouted. I got to my feet and jumped on his back, getting West in a headlock. Then, just for kicks, I messed up his hair a bit.
But it wasn't like it used to be. I couldn't smile. I used to grin like a loon when harassing West, but, it was just so hard when I felt so un-awesome.
West sidestepped out of my hold, and pulled my arm behind my back into a chicken wing.
He let go and looked at me worriedly, "Gilbert, I know why you are acting like-" I shoved him before I could finish. I didn't need his pity.
West stumbled back. He stood straight again and slicked his hair back. "Come downstairs when you can carry a rational conversation. Japan is coming later for breakfast." With one more worried glance, he turned and left.
I grabbed the nearest object and chucked it at the wall. It was a lamp. After I threw the lamp, I realized two things.
One. Lamps look kinda cool when shattered against a wall.
Two. I can't get over Elizabeta as easily as I thought.
