With trembling fingers, you reach for it and slowly lift it closer so it’s easier to inspect. Once you trace your eyes over it, you feel your heartbeat quicken. You don’t know what to feel; happiness or fear. Tons of different feelings bubbles through your body and you let out a shaky breath. What would Justin think? Would he accept it? All of the negative and and positive questions swarm your mind and you’re left helpless.

You feel more at ease when you find yourself preparing to make dinner for when Justin gets home. While the different vegetables were frying in the pan, you began to remove the green leaves from the strawberries you were having for dessert. You’re enjoying yourself in the kitchen, completely forgetting about why you were nervous. While finishing up with the food, you smile to yourself - excited for Justin to come home.
Everything is done and ready when the front door slams shut and you can’t hide your smile.
“Hey, baby.” Justin smiles, placing a gentle kiss to your forehead. He immediately sits down at the table when he sees the food you have prepared. A big smile finds its way to his lips and he digs in right away, not wasting time.
Suddenly, all of your current excitment and courage melt away when you realize why you put such a big effort into making dinner in the first place. You end up taking a few bites now and then, poking the remaining food with the fork. When Justin is done eating, that’s when he decides to investigate;
“What’s wrong? You haven’t said a word and you’re not eating.” You glance up at him from your plate and catch his gaze. You look into his honest eyes and blurt out,
“I’m pregnant.”
Justin’s brows furrow together and he coughs from the water he had just taken a sip from. When he’s done, he looks at you again. “What?”

“Did you just say what I think you did?” He questions and you look up startled to see him standing next to your chair. You nod slowly, suddenly not feeling so well.
“I’m sorry. I-” You begin, but you are quickly cut off.
“You’re pregnant?” Justin asks again in clear disbelief. You nod. “We’re gonna have a baby? I’m gonna be a dad?” You nod again and confirm all of his sudden questions.
Before you can comprehend it, Justin has picked you up from the chair and is spinning you around in his tight, but warm embrace. “This is amazing! I’m gonna be a dad!” Justin exclaims in realization, a wide smile on his face. “How far along are you?”
“Almost two months, I think.” You admit into as you pull away slightly from his touch so you can look at him. He smiles wider, leans down and he places a big, wet kiss on your lips. You giggle and push him away playfully, wiping your chin. Justin only grins before slowly kneeling down in front of you.
“Hey, baby. I’m your daddy…” He whispers softly, placing a gentle hand on your stomach. “Mommy and I love you very much and we can’t wait to meet you.”
You smile down at him proudly, knowing how good of a dad Justin is going to be to your unborn baby. Justin is standing again as quickly as he had gotten down on his knees and you give him a curious look.
“I love you. Do you know that?” Justin leans down again and gives you a passionate, but gentle peck on the lips. “I love you so much.” He mumbles against your lips.
