Letting out a deep sigh, you rub your temples in frustration. Your father had just called you to tell you that your mom had been admitted to the hospital because of a serious cough she had gotten. You are currently on tour with your boyfriend, Justin, and you can’t do anything about it. Your phone beeps and you receive yet another ‘are you okay?’ text from one of your cousins who had obviously also gotten the message. You let out a small shriek, wanting to just fall asleep and forget everything. You and your mom had always been close but you had recently started talking less when you had gone to visit Justin for a couple of months while he was on tour. It wasn’t that your mom loved you less for visiting him, rather the opposite. She was proud of you and Justin and your relationship with him. She was happy to see that you both worked hard to make the long distance relationship work. “Baby, what’s wrong?” Justin asks suddenly, making you lash your head around to locate the sound. Justin looks at you concernedly and when you meet his gaze, he immediately sits down beside you on the hotel room couch. “Nothing.” You sigh, “It’s just that… Dad just called and… He said tha-that mom’s in the hospital. She was admitted today because of a bad cough. I don’t know what’s happening, Justin! I-I’m supposed to be there for her but I’m here, halfway across the world. I-” Before you can say more, Justin has you wrapped up in his embrace as sobs wrecks through your body. He sneaks one of his hands under your t-shirt and rubs your back while the other is stroking your hair. “Shh…” He whispers softly as you cry into his shirt. He eventually pulls away and places his hands on your shoulders, forcing you to look directly at him. “It’s going to be okay. [Y/M/N] is strong, you know that. Remember that time when we were in 5th grade and she broke her ribs when she fell down the stairs?” You nod slowly, sniffing. You still can’t see where he’s going with this. “She was up and going the minute the doctor gave her the okay. She’ll be fine, [Y/N]. I promise.” Justin offers you a small smile as he wipes the few tears, which are still falling from your eyes, with his thumb. “Thank you,” you whisper, your voice hoarse. “Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for loving me like you promised in 3rd grade. I love you.” “I love you, too, [Y/N].”
