Well I'm back from my trip, and I'm glad that there was no new episode last week, so I didn't miss anything.
But this episode was just super, wasn't it?? The cases was very interesting, and the emotions from everyone in this episode was like a rollercoster ride.

Let's start off with Jennifer Beals first apperance on this show, and she is just perfect to play Cal's wife. (It was a reunion for her and Tim if you go back to one of Tim's earlier movies called Four Rooms, Jennifer was a part of two of the 4 stories that took place). Zoe is very strong, and I immediatly liked her. I don't really know why, because she's the one who left Cal, but she explains why, and I have to say that I would get pretty pissed off to if all that your spouse could see was the negatives in your relationship. They're both very stong characters, and it's obvious as to why they were together before. But it was also very obvious that they still had very strong feelings for eachother. Now it seems that Zoe and Cal's relationship with eachother has ended up like Gillian's. Affairs are a b***h, arn't they? But when you get to see Tim Roth's tat's on Cal (FINALLY), and lying in bed with the covers splayed all over him...it makes the affair much more understandable.

Now I just LOVED Tim's potrayal of Cal here, and as I have said a gazillion times before, and will say once again, Tim really IS his character. They have so many traits in common (comparing Tim's interviews with Cal's attitude, they are two peas in a pod) But it's not because Tim is both people... (?) but it's because he's such a damn good actor, isn't he?
The look on Cal's face when he was in the womans bathroom was absolutly priceless. We heard him really laugh out loud for the first time on the show, and the majority of the emotions that he revealed were all in the happy catagory. Contempt, Happiness (obviously) and well...love. Can you imagine how happy he must have been to see both Gillian and Zoe in practically the same room together? He loves (Zoe) both of these women, and cares a whole lot about them (Gillian). Long story short, it was a nice change to see Cal finally happy instead of miserable.

As for Gillian...not much of her at all. Jennifer's apperance (and, for now, her story ark for the next few episodes) really took away her spotlight. I was more focused on the relationship between Zoe and Cal more than I was on studying Gillian. But I'm sure once I watch it for the third time very shortly, I will pay more attention to her.

And Ria finally went 'solo' and she did a great job, didn't she? She finally had an interesting case, and she finally got her hands a little 'dirty'. She, of course, had a little help from Loker who, by the way, was only in 2 scenes. Or was it one...? Gese, I don't know, I hardly see him anymore!

The highlights? Well, the whole episode really. I love how the main case really tied in with the relationship of Zoe and Cal. (What a coincidence, eh?) There were very funny moments, I found myself smiling alot, and there were also moments of extreme drama and intensity. This is one of the few shows that can really make that transition between comedy and drama seamless. (Withought Hugh Laurie in it).
I really enjoyed this episode for it's great script, and astonishing acting. Tim had alot of screentime, (thank God), and everything went perfect for this episode. All I have to say is, Tim, I wish we saw even 'more' of you, and Jennifer, welcome to Lie to Me!!

Well, I'm off to go and watch Skellig starring Tim Roth...for the 8th time. (Skellig, by the way, comes out on DVD on April 27th (hopefully in Canada) so be sure to pick it up, and if you can't, read the book! It's amazing.)
