Using the “I'm a fan” button
Greetings!
I have decided to write a short article about this, because it's been bugging me for quite a while now. Won't take long, I promise. :)
Those of you, who contribute here on a regular basis, with pictures, fanfics, videos, etc. are very well aware how much time it takes to share these things with the club. We're talking about hours in some cases. Yet, there's a tendency I observed over the course of the year, since I was here.
So, how on earth these contributors could get any feedback on their works; the stuff they posted? Oh, wait a minute! There is a way! Have you seen the “I'm a fan” button on the right? It's a green little icon and if you click on it, you give a signal that you liked the material. Even if you're not feeling like leaving a comment (which is perfectly fine and understandable, furthermore acceptable), with this simple gesture you can still send an anonymous feedback to the contributor who posted the stuff, informing him/her that the time he/she took to search/write/share was not in vain. By fanning something you like, you give a little nod to the contributor, that he/she is on the right track. It's like saying: "That was nice, keep up da good work!"
However; it seems to me, that only a few people are aware of the primary function of this small green button, because most of the time, it is as untouched as the switch of the turn signal in a big black BMW or a Mercedes. It seems like people don't know what purpose these devices serve. :)
I'm not saying you have to fan everything without question of course. I'm only saying, that if you LIKE something; let it be a picture, a fanfic, a video, or a link; take one second to click on the “I'm a fan” button, to notify the contributor who posted it about your positive reaction. Sometimes it speaks louder than a thousand comments.
Thank you for reading! :)

First things first, thank you to anyone who reads this. Okay, so this is a continuation of The Journey of the New Brony article I wrote a few weeks back. So, while watching Dragon Quest, I noticed even more similarities between the events of the episode and the common new brony's experiences. Let me once again make them into a list. But because this is part 2, remember that the person is already a brony.
1. You go to hang out with people who should be your friends.
2. Something happens, and you admit to being a brony.
3. They make fun of you.
4. You try to prove that it hasn't majorly changed you.
5. You do prove it.
6. You hang out again.
7. They still don't approve of ponies, or fans of ponies.
8. You discover who your true friends are through ponies.
Yeah, it's not as good as my last one, but I wanted to share my thoughts anyway. Please give me feedback, I want to write the best articles I can, which I can't do if I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Anyway, triq267 out.
