Black Thoughts
He pressed his beak tightly together to bare the pain.
The dark fog, which flew through his veins, thickened at the two broken rips. He tried not to scream as the healing began.
His flipper closed tightly around the hilt of his sword. He lifted the blade. The darkness licked over the metal.
This damn elephant!
Every time the demon helped him, he felt so exhausted afterwards. Exhausted like now. He had barely managed to get back from the forest. Otherwise, he had chased those tiny bastards! Now, he lay in the lair, slipped down at the wall on the ground and he could barely move from what the demon was doing with his body. The pain in his chest increased and then abated slowly.
He took some deep breaths and felt this creature move inside him.
"Idiot!" he heard it say in his head. "You should have taken my help from the beginning! I know I told you, you should only do it if really necessary. But if you die you are useless for me!"
"Forgive me", he retorted bitterly with a trace of sarcasm, and tried to stand up. His body was numb and stiff.
"If you had used my force from the beginning to kill this pachyderm, you could have gotten the other ones too!" the demon complained. "Now they have hidden and we'll have to find them again!"
"We will get them" he thought and the demon snarled in response.
