Bridge

They were on different sides while it was burning. Both unable to see the other's face, they had tears slowly crawling out of their eyes, not just from the destruction of the bridge, but from the fact that there's no way they can be back together again.

The Distance
Kowalski's busy in his room writing on his clipboard and although he felt tired, he couldn't take a nap. Everytime he closed his eyes, all he could see is Monique sitting next to him and turning her head to see him. The bad thing about it is that it reminds him that she's no longer with him. He finished his writing on his clipboard, which seemed to be a poem or a song about how he's feeling, grabbed a guitar case from his window, and was on his way out the door. Skipper saw him before he left, though.
"Where are you going, Kowalski?" he asked.
"I'm just going to cope," Kowalski said before leaving.
Monique was just lying on her couch with her face in a pillow while sobbing a bit. She'd keep her eyes open as much as she could, but she's making herself feel the pain of being away from Kowalski. She felt like she deserved torture since she felt like she drove Kowalski away with yelling.
Due to her theory, she tried her best to be as silent as possible. All she did to communicate was write notes from a notebook.
Just then, Marlene came in to hopefully cheer her up.
"I have an idea. We both like music, so maybe we should see a local performance," Marlene said to her.
"I don't know, Marlene. Maybe it won't help. Besides, it's raining," Monique wrote in her note to Marlene.
"How will you know it won't help unless you try? Let's go," Marlene said, dragging Monique with her and putting a hat on Monique's head.
At the performance, Kowalski was playing a guitar and performing a song he wrote about how he's feeling. He was so focused on his passion that he didn't notice Monique and Marlene just coming in and sitting down. Monique slowly took off her hat to try to see who was performing.
As he reached the bridge of the song, Kowalski looked up and recognized the face with brown eyes and thick glasses. The face that he recognized to be Monique. As that occurred, Monique recognized the figure of the tall man with blue eyes and black hair to be Kowalski.
The performance came to a halt for a while as Monique and Kowalski walked up to each other and hugged each other for a good amount of time. As he broke the hug, Kowalski looked at Monique with a concerned look on his face.
"How are you feeling, Monique?" Kowalski asked.
All he got in return was Monique turning her head away to hide the red in her face and her eyes.
"Monique, can you please talk to me?" he asked with a worried tone in his voice.
All Monique did was shake her head to show the answer "no".
"Why can't you talk to me? You know i'm still here for you," he said to hopefully gain her trust.
"I... I JUST CAN'T, OKAY?" Monique accidentally yelled.
After hearing herself, she backed away from Kowalski and ended up running out into the rain with tears in her eyes to match the weather. She didn't even bother getting her hat to keep herself dry. Unsure of what happened, Kowalski ran after her to see if there's something he could do.
Kowalski found her outside and rain was pouring down hard. Although she faced away from him, he knew for sure that she was crying.
"Is something wrong?" he finally asked.
She just wrote a note, turned around, and gave it to him.
"If i can't speak without ending up yelling, i might as well not speak at all," it said.
"But i can't have to avoid talking to me. If you don't talk, how will i help you?" he pointed out.
She just wrote another note and gave it to him.
"It'll just give you one less thing to be afraid of. Besides, without me causing stress, wouldn't you find peace?" the note said.
Kowalski was shocked that she wrote that. It wasn't how he felt about it at all.
"Monique, this distance between us has been killing me, it's been aching me more than the strongest acid. Accidentally yelling or not, being without you just sucks life out of me," he said from the heart while looking into her eyes.
All she did was kneel and break down sobbing. Kowalski knealt to her level and hugged her to comfort her. She hugged back, but was still crying.

Bridge

On different ends of the bridge, Kowalski and Monique faced away from each other. A final tear came down their cheeks, but they refused to give up what they had so easily. They ended up running down to the gap the bridge was over and ran through the water that was formally under it. As they finally reached each other, Monique looked partially at Kowalski and partially at the ground, still feeling shameful.
"I'm sorry," she whispered.
Kowalski didn't say anything. He just pressed Monique's head up and kissed her lips as passionately as he could. She returned the kiss and they both ended up being knocked down with Monique's back on the ground. Yep, they wouldn't give up what they had without a fight.

Here's a quick, funny story I wrote. From now on, if anyone was reading my 'A Hero's Tale' fanfic, it's on my FanFiction account.

The door of the HQ burst open, scattering Kowalski and Skipper's chess game on the floor.

"Hello, slap happy penguins!" Julien shouted, who was at the doorway. "Who wants to have fun on Sunday Eve!"

"For one thing, it's called 'Saturday night'," Skipper commented, as he picked up a pawn off of the floor.

"And secondly, no." Kowalski finished his leader's sentence.

Rico set his doll down (he was brushing her hair) and glared at Julien. Private seemed kind of happy though,...

“I’m sorry, little guy. Did that mean man come in here and take you away?” Lorrie asked Kowalski as she set him back in his cage.

“No, I went exploring! You should’ve seen me! I opened the door all on my own and everything!” Kowalski chirped excitedly. Lorrie sighed.

“I’m sorry Preston works for those horrible people. I’m glad you don’t understand what’s going on. I would hate for you to realize how cruel the world is,” Lorrie said as her eyes went dark. Kowalski sighed and reached through the cage,...

Soon after, we begin to tell our scary stories. The bunnies did a cute one, the world was out of carrots! (lol) Emma told the story of when the penguins were discovered by the world. (um, their story is already spoiled all over the Internet) Marlene did one about an invasion of space squids. (that already happened!) There were some more, but I don't feel like telling them.
It started to get windy when Livi told her story. Very very windy! At Shelly's story, I swear I saw lighting in the distance. It was okay, according to my calculations, we should be finished by the time the storm comes. ...

To the oblivion of the humans, Nigel; Private's mother; and Private waddle sleathly at their feet. Private has never seen so many humans in his life, let alone in the same place. He seems helplessly intrigued in them and their bizzare nature. As each one takes a step, he admires how giant-like their feet seem. There are different designs on their feet. That's silly Private thinks. They seem to be able to take them off.
His mother finds him wide-eyed. "Those are called shoes, Private."
"Sho-es?" Private repeats.
"Yes, the people wear them to protect their feet." She teaches the little penguin....
