Kowalski stood panting. The blade of the ax rested on the ground. Blood and some sort of grayish slime were smeared on it.
Kowalski could feel the other watching him. He picked up a vibe from them; uneasy, cautious.
Private let out a choked sob, followed quickly by Skipper telling him to shush.
Kowalski looked into Rico's deep blue eyes. They stared back at him: neither scared nor unafraid, neither trusting nor wary.
Kowalski looked at the puddle of blood forming near Rico's leg. He looked at Rico's pale face.
Kowalski went to Rico's side and dropped down next to him, taking his hand.
"Dizzy," Rico murmured.
Kowalski took off his shirt and wrapped it tightly around Rico's leg. It soaked through in seconds.
Kowalski was tearing off one of his pant legs to tie around Rico when Rico touched his arm. Kowalski looked up.
"Love ya, brother," Rico said.
"Rico, you're going to be okay," Kowalski said, tears forming in his eyes.
Rico shook his head and squeezed Kowalski's hand. "Love ya," he repeated.
"I love you too," Kowalski said, his voice thick and choked.
Rico smiled.
It took a few moment for Kowalski to realize that Rico wasn't blinking anymore. He patted Rico's arm, then waved his hand in front of Rico's still face.
Rico remanded unresponsive.
Kowalski reached out and gently closed Rico's eyes. "Goodbye," he whispered.
Then he got to his feet and walked into the jungle.

The morning after the small funeral, everyone was particularly tense. Trying to prevent themselves from crying about Kowalski anymore, they resorted to beating the stuffing out of one of their punching bags (literally) and doing a bunch of grueling exercises without a break. Skipper was convinced that the extra work would keep their minds off of Kowalski but it actually did the opposite: everyone was thinking of Kowalski to keep their minds off of the constant soreness and pain they were feeling from doing all of the work. Eventually, Skipper acknowledged that fact that his idea was not working...

Chapter 4-Assualt

Skipper and Kowalski were very tired after training together. They went to bed early, before the sun even set. Since the others were gone, Skipper got a bunk this time. They plopped down in their beds like cold turkeys and curled up under their covers.
“I have never been so overworked in my whole life,” Skipper moaned.
“Eh, you will get used to it,” Kowalski assured him. “It is normal training for me.”
“Does Mr. Halloweentown train you all the time?” he wondered. “And...

Skipper: Is the dummy ready?
Kowalski: I took advantage of the food I could find under the table, and the gum made an excellent bonding material to hold it together. (proudly shows Skipper two penguin dummies made out of gross taco meat and other stuff, and disgusting pieces of chewed gum.)
Skipper: Outstanding! These will buy us a few precious moments.
The monster meat taco is moving around across the floor, looking around for the two penguin runaways. It is nearing their table. They quickly dive back under the tablecloth before they could be seen. Next Kowalski makes a working sling shot using...

“Nothing to be Afraid of”
November 1, 2014

“Come on, Skipper!” Marlene urged, pulling him toward the Halloween Haunted House in Central Park. “It’ll be awesome!”

“It’ll be pointless! Haunted Houses are so overrated!” Skipper said as he tried to resist Marlene pulling on his flipper.

Marlene stopped and turned toward him. “What, are you afraid?” she challenged.

“No, I just don’t want to waste my time wandering through a supposedly ‘scary’ house,” Skipper answered.

“Come on, I’ve been anticipating this ever since they started advertising it. I’ve never been in...

“Good Game”
July 30, 2014

“I believe that’s checkmate, Marlene,” Skipper announced, moving his piece to trap her king.

Marlene pursed her lips and threw a bishop at him. “Come on, that was the third time in a row,” she protested.

Skipper laughed. “Hey, don’t hate the player, here!”

Marlene laughed and threw a knight at him. “I don’t hate you, it just makes me feel better,” she corrected.

“Well,” Skipper replied with a smile, “two can play at that...

“I Remember”

Note: I’ve typically been writing notes at the end, but for this case, I must make an exception as to be clear to you, or at least the ones who haven’t read my previous works. I have been thinking about doing a sequel to one of my stories, but never did because I didn’t think I could make anything long and commendable out of it. But with this project, I received some inspiration and motivation to do so in a short story. So, this short is a little sequel to “Skipper’s Curse.” If you haven’t read it before and plan to, be aware that this will contain...

Operation: Skilene
Author’s Note:
I started on these a while ago, and have decided to finally publish them. Most of these shorts were inspired by a game on fanpop called “What would Skipper say (WWSS) Game” on pages 40-43. Thank you to 27Kowalski (on Fanpop), also known as SierraTangoEcho on deviantArt, for helping me with ideas and scenarios. Credit goes to her for the few drawings. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them. They are in no particular order, other than the sequence they were written. Please review!

PS, for those following my “Operation: Challenge,”...

Tense.

That was the only way to describe the atmosphere in the HQ. They’d recently returned from a mission to thwart Hans’ latest scheme, which hadn’t gone as planned.

“Skipper,” Kowalski called as Skipper violently prepared his bed for the night. Kowalski rolled his eyes. “You’re being ridiculous.”

“Ridiculous?” Skipper snapped, turning to face him. “I’m not the one being ridiculous. I had...

Okay, here come the antagonists! Please review! :)

That very same day, at that very same time, there where four penguins and a dolphin who had just swum away from the explosion.

The location. The location was hard to name. It was a top secret loading dock, and from what I can tell you, it's in New Jersey. As you, the reader, is familiar with it, it is that place in 'The Penguin Who Loved Me'. And, it was also a few second before it had ended.

"Skipper, do you suppose we've finally seen the last of Doctor Blowhole?" Private asked, as the penguins slowly waddled away from the dock.

"What a delightfully...
