My opinion on the possibility of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire remakes and what is currently going on.
If you look at past generations, FireRed and LeafGreen (The remakes of the original Japanese Red and Green, later becoming Red and Blue in America) were released in gen 3. HeartGold and SoulSilver (The remakes of the original Gold and Silver) were released as a part of gen 4. So it would make sense for the remakes of Ruby and Sapphire to be a part of gen 5, but in my opinion gen 5 was just for show to add new stuff, and to me feels like more of an experiment with the games.
Because Black and White were probably the first games to not feature any previous generation pokemon before the beating the elite 4 at least once, it further supports the idea the Black and White, the base of gen 5, was more of an experiment with the usual "sent out on a journey, run in with villains, beat the league, fill the pokedex" storyline that they usually do. Black 2 and White 2 are more of the real deal, but still don't feel the way they usually do. Though the storyline is huge, I feell like it is more an experiment that went well and gen six will feature the remakes instead of gen 5.
I love Black and White, as well as Black 2 and White 2, but those games just isn't what you would expect from the Pokemon industry. To me it felt like they were straying to far from what Pokemon was once seen as. I do enjoy the games, and the pokemon are cool, it just isn't the same. Nevertheless, Generation 5 was a slight bust and although good, has had some dislikes and bad comments. For example (These people left unnamed): "Gen 1 was perfect, later generations are good too, but Gen 5 sucks. I don't get it, pokemon just isnt the same anymore. They better clean up in Gen 6, if and when it happens." or "black and white aren't all that great I think it might just be me being a gen 1 fan gen 5 is still not great". I don't completely agree, but generation 5 still isn't perfect.
I love Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver. Being able to take pictures with gym leaders, taking on the Pokegear (A phone, map, and watch combined) with them as well as other people, and the fact that it has radio so your not teased by the fact your blind to the tv's pictures. the entire game is great. I don't like how Black and White took my in game bed (My main saving spot in earlier games) away from me. HeartGold and Soulsilver also has the best credits of any other game. I went back and beat Lance four times just to watch the credits.
I didn't play FireRed or LeafGreen, but I am sure it is probably just as great as Pokemon Red (Which I did play) and Blue/Green. Instead I will share the Pokemon Red story. My older sister was trying to get me into Pokemon, hoping I might be as big of a tomboy as she was, so she could have someone to pass on all her Pokemon stuff to. I enjoyed playing the game and once I beat it the first time, I restarted the game to experience it all over again. Sadly I dropped the game system into water by accident and could finish it a second time. Both times I started with Charmander. Charizard was my sisters favorite pokemon, and at the time was mine too. Generation 1 was great, wasn't it?
I think they should make Ruby and Sapphire remakes. Plus, if they don't put out remakes I am going to have to resort to the original games and trying to find it online as well as trying to get a new DS lite seeing that my old one was stolen.
Random Thoughts:
•Gothita looks strange, the bows just confuse me, and it is very girly.
•My favorite type is Electric but my favorite Pokemon is the Normal type Eevee.
•On the topic of Eevee, Sylveon looks like a cross between Eevee, Milotic, Gothita and Suicune. You can probably guess why. It is also extremely girly.
•Why is Castelia City more like New York City, but Nimbasa, which is clearly like Vegas or Hollywood, is the one with the Subway?
•My Bff has lampposts and houses in her Black City but I don't. That's is not cool.
•WHERE IS MY GROWLITHE!!!!!! SoulSilver doesn't have wild Growlithes. That sucks.
•When I play Platinum and my Bff plays Pearl, during wifi or wireless battles, or underground, in her game we look exactly the same, but in my game, we look somewhat different. The later game makes things so funny.
•Pokemon names are so easy to make fun of. For example: "I will Pikachu from the bedroom window" or "That smell is very Unfezant" or "The Luxray of a spa treatment is great, but if only that feeling lasted longer" or "If you don't stop that now I will Smeargle this pudding all over your shirt."
•If only they hadn't ruined that cute little Purrloin with the evolution Liepard. Liepard just looks cheesy. Mmmm Cheese! Lol!
