"Shadow?" Marian whispered quietly, but Shadow heard her.
"What?" He asked, not wanting to be lied to. She insisted that she only said his name just for the fun of it but Shadow didn't believe her and didn't push the subject.
"We should get some rest. Those monsters outside are relentless." Marian suggested.
Shadow shook his head. "I can't stay here. No weak monster like that will stop me! I need to get back!"
"You know that isn't a 'weak monster'! You were nearly killed by it! It's stronger than you!"
Shadow turned to face her, fury in his eyes. "Take that back! Nothing is stronger than me!" And with that, Shadow smashed open a window and jumped through it, anger pounding inside him. 'Stronger than me' Shadow thought. 'No way'. Shadow nearly jumped off the ground at a sudden noise that made him turn. A piercing scream reached his ears as he heard a horrible growling and roaring noise. Forgetting his objective, Shadow skated around, trying to find the source of the sound. He heard something slam against a wall and knew he must be close. He side-kicked a door open and ran along a dark hall. Sitting down, against a wall, cornered by a vicious creature, was none other than Amy Rose, a pink hedgehog. The creature faced Shadow as he gasped and started to walk towards him, agonisingly slow. It's appearance was most demonic, it looked nothing like anyone Shadow had seen before. It had a stony face with cracks forming a mouth, bloody eye sockets, sharp tips instead of hands and one ear ripped off. It snarled at Shadow as he made to grab Amy's hand to pull her to safety, but she wouldn't budge. She wouldn't move for fear. The monster, possibly to demonstrate its power, got one of its needle like arms and stabbed a hole straight through the stone wall. Amy screamed and grabbed Shadow as Shadow, wishing she would stop, skated out of the house and left the demon to walk after them.
As they found a safe area inside a bundle of bushes, Shadow turned to Amy, "What are you doing here?"
"I don't know!" She said through tears in her eyes. "I just went to sleep and I woke up here! It's scary!"
Shadow, however, was thinking fast. "There's a reason you and I are here, Amy. It must mean we've got to do something, but what?"

For those who have played the Portal games, they will know GLaDOS and who she is. For those who don't know, I'll just say she is a computer AI for a place called Aperture Science. This is a list of how Shadow and GLaDOS are similar.

but nit's just a theroy,I think that for 3 reasons:
1:sandy cheeks is if not more smarter then eggman.
2:she is kindharted,kinda like maria.
and 3:she is willing to put her life in danger to save others.

Tears ran down my cheaks. "SHADOW!!! NOO!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "You will pay Metcha Tails! YOU WILL PAY!!!" I said as I turned Dark Sonic. I kicked, punched, smashed, and crushed Metcha Tails into peices. I panted as I studied my destroyed opponent. I turned back to my regular form. I soon faced my highly injured friend covered in crimson blood.
Twilight's POV
I jumped off the building and ran to Shadow's body. I wept and yelled "WHY!? WHY MUST THIS HAPPEN TO ME!?" I remembered the times I had with him. And there wasen't enough to keep me happy. My tears fell on to Shadow's chest that was cut deeply. Then I asked the biggest question I had ever asked. "I-Is he.....dead?" Sonic put his head on Shadow's chest to hear his heart beat. Sonic sighed with relief and said "He's alive, but his heartbeat is very slow. We need to get him to a hospital!"

I was running through the streets. I was looking for my friend Shadow, when I bumped into someone. It was a blue and red cat. "Oh uh, sorry," I said getting up. "Oh its ok, have you seen a black and red hedgehog named Shadow?" The cat asked. Surprised I responded "Actually, I'm looking for him myself! Sonic." "Twilight. How do you know Shadow?" "A friend, you?" "He's my boyfriend." Twilight looked to her left. "What is that?" "What is what?" I looked behind me. About six buildings away was Metcha Tails. It roared as it walked along destroying everything in sight. "Stay there Twilight." I said as I charged at the robot. After about half an hour, I saw a figure in the distance.
