When I came to, I saw Duncan's face, one eye full of concern. Wait, one eye? I blinked, and his eye split. Back to two. "Gwen, you ok?" He asked. I treid to stand, but almost blacked out again. "Gwen, you have a cuncussion. You should not stand." I shook my head and managed to croak, "Trent?" Duncan got that angry flicker in his eyes. "Not here." He said quickly. I finally took in my surroundings and realized I was in a hospital. I also realized something else. I saw a flash of jet-black hair cross the doorway. Once. Twice. Three times. And then I finally realized who it was. "I don't beleive you." I told Duncan. "What? About the cuncussion?" He asked. I reached up and smacked him playfully on the arm. "No, stupid. about Trent not being here." He took on the expresion of a frightened deer, but shook it off just as fast. "What makes you say that?" I took one more glance at the wood door before answering. "Well, for starters, I can see him out the window." Duncan then looked out the window and motioned for Trent to come in. "Gwen!" He exclaimed. I smiled and waved, but Duncan stood, like a bodyguard, in the corner. "Hey, Duncan. Could you go so I can talk to Gwen?" Trent asked, his voice teeming with anger. Duncan shook his head. "You put her in a hospital. I'm not leaving you alone with her." I was a little suprised at Duncan's response but even more at Trent's. "Go die in a hole, Juvi." Just then, I felt a churning in my stomach, but it was me about to vomit. I almost did, but managed to hold it down. Then the nurse walked in on Trent amd Duncan's stare-down. "Boys, one of you needs to leave, and I'm going to let Gwen pick who." Oh great. Thanks Trina! "Umm, could you both leave? I'm kinda tired." Duncan nodded, and Trent protested. The nurse eventually got them out. I did fall asleep eventually.

I whent back to school the next day. I got ice cream at lunch, and hung out with Duncan all day. It was awsome. Trent tried to hang out with me, but Duncan was still on guard. "Take a hike, Elvis." Duncan said, his voice dripping in venom. "I want to talk to Gwen." Trent growled. "And I said go. Away." Duncan said. "Duncan. It's ok." I said, stepping between them. Duncan shot Trent one last hatefull look, and departed. "So, Gwen..." Trent said, suddenly becoming very interested in his feet. It dawned on me that Trent might be asking me out. "Umm..." I said. "Go on."

"Oh. Ok. Umm... do you... want to... umm... go out with me?"

I was kind of shocked. But I managed a smile and said, "Ok. When and where?"

"What about tonight? At Chili's off of 106th street?"

"Ok. See you then."

Tent waved, spun on his heel, and walked off. Then Duncan came back. "What did he ask?" Duncan asked me. "He..." I saw the stern look in his eyes and said in a quieter voice, "...asked me out." Duncan looked mad enough to punch in a locker, and then he did. Left a dent too. "Hey! School proporety!" One of the teachers called. I looked at Duncan, grinned and yelled, "RUN!" and we sprinted into the hall.
