Memories Hurt

I opened my eyes and then closed them again quickly as the bright lights blinded me.

Blooming In The Sunset.

Yes, that was my name. I'll shorten it to Bloom. And... I was from the Flowers. Maybe I could stick to my host's name. Lily. Such a pretty name. It applies to my former name too. Lily. It felt good on my tongue. It was... familiar. From the three life terms I have spent with the Dolphins, I have learned how to understand my hosts. It makes me feel more pity for them than what would be considered normal, but right then, it didn't matter. I could tell that my host liked making friends.

Yes. That was it. Lily had a lot of friends. Friends who cared. Friends she had lost.

Maybe I could find their names and location. That was what she was supposed to do. And a pang of hurt shot through my veins. Why were they hunting down the humans? This was their world. They should at least live in peace. It was wrong.

If you haven't seen the movie yet and are anxious to know everything you possibly can about it, here is a list I put together of fun facts from the movie:

#1: Mel and Jared have sex. If you've seen some of the clips for the movie, you already know this. (If you haven't seen the clips yet, check out the one called "Campfire Kiss.") But Mel and Jared sleep together while they're on the run from the Souls, which isn't something that they do in the book.

#2: This is still open to discussion, but Ian's character is really underdeveloped. In the book, his relationship with Wanda takes a lot of time to develop and grow and sprout into romance. But in the movie, it's like he wants to kill her one day, and then kiss her the next. The O'Wanda relationship really doesn't have a lot of room to develop. They fall in love very quickly, hard and fast and without warning. It kind of makes their romance feel unrealistic and unbelievable--but maybe that's just me.

Time for a rant.

A lot of people are convinced that Jared loves Wanda. We all know that Wanda loves Jared but she has an explanation for that. Anyway, I do not believe that Jared loves Wanda the way that he loves Melanie. I will provide a list of arguments against the 'Wanda/Jared evidence' in the book.

1. She asked him to lie. Near the end when Wanda's about to sacrifice herself, she asked Jared to lie to her, to tell her that he wanted her to stay. And he was VERY good at lying to her about that. So good, that people are convinced that he wasn't lying and was just pretending he was so Wanda wouldn't know how he 'felt'. But if he truly loved her, like Ian, he would've refused for her sacrifice and wouldn't take Melanie over her.

2. The kiss at the end. Yes, Jared kissed WANDA at the end of the book and it had absolutely nothing to do with Melanie. Here'w what I think. When Jared asked her if she wanted anything from him, he was expecting her to ask for a kiss since he was aware of her feelings for him. But we all know Wanda wouldn't ask for that. I strongly believe that Jared felt extremely guilty for letting her sacrifice herself for...

Over vampires? Tired of tributes? Rest assured, Awful readers, Stephenie Meyer's ditched her shirtless werewolves and chilly vamps for sexy aliens in her latest book turned big-screen adaptation, The Host.

And even though the movie doesn't hit theaters until March 29, 2013, we recently had our first look at both the mind-blowing trailer and the creepy one-eyed poster.

So, before you Twi-hards go into a tizzy and insist nothing can top Twilight (or Robsten), take a sec and check out five things you need to know about S.M.'s sci-fi sensation.

1. The Leading Lass Has Mega-Talent: Haven't heard of Saoirse Ronan? Well, cement that Irish name in your brain, because Ronan is an acting force to be reckoned with. She appeared alongside Keira Knightley in Atonement and was nominated for an Academy Award for her role at the young age of 13. Saoirse also starred in The Lovely Bones and most recently the action flick Hanna. Quite an impressive résumé, no? Kristen Stewart, you've certainly got some competition.

So I found these on tumblr. I agree with most of them. What do you guys think? Credit to thebazingaproject on tumblr.

1. “Maybe it’s an accident, maybe it’s fate, but it appears to me that the strongest of our kind is being hosted by the strongest of theirs.” - Kathy, page 44.

2. “What am I dying for? I guess it’s because I lost. then, right? Is that why?”
“No. It doesn’t feel that way to me. I think… well, I think that maybe… you’re dying to be human. After all the planets and all the hosts youve left behind, you’ve finally found the place and the body you’d die for. I think you’ve found your home, Wanderer.” - Wanderer and Melanie, page 111.

3. “You and I won’t lose each other. I will always find you again. No matter how well you hide. I’m unstoppable at hide-and-seek.” - Jared to Melanie, page 82.

4. “Strange world, isn’t it?” “The strangest.” - Ian and Wanderer, page 240. And again on page 617, Wanderer and Burns Living Flowers.

Stephenie Meyer found fame with her bestselling Twilight vampire series, which is soon to be a feature film. After the publication of her first novel, Twilight, booksellers chose Stephenie as one of the "most promising new authors of 2005." Stephenie Meyer graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in English. She lives with her husband and three young sons in Arizona.

Stephenie Meyer's latest novel is The Host, a paranormal romance which takes place after most of humanity has succumbed to an alien species that takes over people's minds, but leaves their bodies healthy and disease-free. Melanie Stryder is a feisty human who refuses to allow the invading alien soul named Wanderer to take over her mind. Melanie pursues her lost love interest, compelling Wanderer to come along for the journey. When Wanderer falls in love with Melanie's boyfriend, things get a bit tricky.

The Host has already found its way onto the New York Times bestseller list. In this interview, Meyer talks about what inspired her to write the book, how she approaches writing romantic science fiction and what writing projects she's working on next.

Boyd Holbrook are in final negotiations to round out the cast of Open Road Films’ “The Host,” an adaptation of “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer’s popular sci-fi novel.

Andrew Niccol (“In Time”) is writing and directing the pic, which stars Saoirse Ronan star as protag Melanie Stryder, whose body is invaded by an alien named Wanderer, also to be played by Ronan. Max Irons (“Red Riding Hood”) and Ronan’s “Lovely Bones” co-star Jake Abel will play the male leads, and William Hurt is set to co-star as Melanie’s uncle, who leads the human resistance from its underground headquarters.

Canterbury will play Ronan’s younger brother, who she goes on an arduous journey to find, while Holbrook will play Abel’s macho brother.

Diane Kruger is in negotiations to play The Seeker, an alien peacekeeper who doggedly pursues Wanderer. Several actresses passed on the part including Eva Green, Hayley Atwell and Claire Danes, with Kruger stepping in after opting not to pursue Universal’s untitled sci-fi pic starring Tom Cruise.

After hearing yesterday that Jake Abel had pretty much landed the role of Ian in the upcoming cinematic adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's "The Host," we were sure it'd be another week before the other shoe dropped—namely, the hotly debated decision on who should take the other male lead in the film! But lo, the Hollywood gods are generous and kind: We now know, courtesy of an exclusive scoop from Entertainment Weekly, that "Red Riding Hood" star Max Irons has nabbed the role of Jared.

...Hey, wait a minute: didn't y'all pick Kit Harrington for this one? Looks like our psychic streak is at an end. Sad face.

For those keeping track, Jared is in love with main character Melanie, whose body is occupied by an alien parasite named Wanderer, who harbors a crush on Ian...and if you're still with us on that twisty-complex plotline, then Stephenie Meyer has trained you well. Saoirse Ronan plays the dual role of Melanie/Wanderer, and now that the three crucial leads are fully cast, hopefully we'll score some sneak peekage from the set once the film begins shooting in February!

hI AnonymousXXX!!!!! sORRY FOR MAKING YOU WAIT A LONG TIME....but ive been a little busy with school you know!:D Anyway, here is another part of the story.

Kristin´s Pov
I saw Lucy stood up, nervously. HEr tanned skin was now light brown. She seemed to be so afraid. I wanted to run towards her and tell her goodbye, but that would be a little bit weird and i didnt think that it would help her so much. Lucy walked to the Principal´s Office, holding his head high. I saw how she said goodbye to her two Bff, Valerie and Barbie, and then she dissappeared behind the door.

I looked around, making sure my friends were still there. Alhana was in the chair. His blonde hair was a mess and she was bitting her pink nails. Jason was staring at me weirdly and Adam was holding Brenda. I remebered my words. Sometimes, i hated myself for making such bad predictions.

The time went by and my classmates started sitting down. The doors were close and there were no windows. That was a trap, i was sure of it.

Hi guys!! We all know Melanie´s story, but what about other humans that may arrive before or later than Wanda to a safe place?

Nobody´s Pov
In New York, there are too many Junior highs and this story will take place in one of them...
It was September 2006 and the rumours about humans that were too kind had already start to be the centre of attention of the FBI and many young people that liked to scare their classmates... The story begins ust like that...

Brenda´s Pov
Alhana, Kristin and me were sitting by the science classroom. Our school was enourmous! It had gardens and a lot of floors and classrooms and auditoriums and offices! I was sure the sun was somewhere in th sky but we couldnt see it. It was a rainy and cold day actually.

Our conversation was about boots and boys, it seemed that Alhanna and me couldnt talk about anything else... And that was the reason why Kristin wasnt saying almost anything.

-I still cant figure out why are you dating Adam! -Alhanna told me-. He is so gross and doesnt know what the order is, and he is not handsome or intelligent either...

Okay so I know a couple of people haven't been able to access this chapter in English and the download links are scare. So I decided to post this up. Enjoy!
-------------------------------------------------
I'm all alone.
It's dark. I can't remember where I am . . . or why I'm here. It's wrong that I'm alone. Where is Wanda? I can't see to look for her. I can't remember how to call for her. It's silent. I can't feel her. I can't feel our body.
Panic starts to set in as I wait for her voice. For her to say my name. To tell me where we are. To open my eyes so we can see. I need to hear her voice — my voice, in my softest tone, my gentlest inflection.
I wait, but there is nothing. Just me and the dark.
The panic gets worse as I try to remember. Did she shut me out again? That happened once, I know, but I don't remember it. I don't think it was like this, panicking in the dark. It was just nothing then.
And I don't think Wanda would do that. Because we love other. I remember we said that. Just before . . . something. I tried to dredge up the memory.

Hello, have you missed me?
Okay fans, right now i am finishing up the next Chapter of Secret Diaries of a Kidnapped Soul so more Kamali!(: But first, you have to tell me what the future shall hold for the characters! Please, please, please vote on which should happen!
First - Should there be a romantic relationship between Kamali and Brandt? Should Kamali take Windy's place?
Second - Should someone be pregnant?(cough, cough, melanie, cough)
Third - Should they take a soul, take out the soul, and Kamali have a relationship with the host? Or they keep the soul in and Kamali have a relationship with him? Or not?
Fourth - Should Jared get seriously hurt, get mrsa(look it up), and Wanda and Kamali have to go on a raid, on their own, to save him?
Fifth - Should Jamie fal in love with a soul?
Remember, Vote on 1&3, those are most important, and then vote on the others. So, for example, if u liked 3, and then u like 4, then u would vote 3&4.

I HAD to do this!
I loved this book and this is my dream cast ♥

MELANIE 'MEL' STRYDER ; Sophia Bush.
Is pretty, tall and athletic, naturally tan skin, long dark brown hair, and hazel eyes.

I believe that Sophia could handle Wanda's innocence and fear but also play Mel's strength well.

WANDERER/WANDA [PET] ; Brittany Snow.
Is petite and delicate with golden hair, freckled skin, silver eyes, and a dimple in her chin.

To me, Brittany has those eyes that scream: "Protect me!" and she is so incredible adorable.

IAN O'SHEA ; Ian Somerhalder.
Is described as beautiful, having pale skin, black hair, and striking dark blue eyes. He is also described as being very tall, muscular, and strong.

It has to be someone who could be intimidating and frightening if he wanted to but also turn into a total softy. I can't wait for him dropping to his knees and beg Wanda not to leave him.

-CHAPTER 3-

I took the fragile baby into my arms, being careful not to break her. She was so small, and so liveful. She looked up at me, and did something that looked like a smile. I smiled back at her, and kissed the top of her head. Brandt watched carefully, but he smiled, too. Wanda looked at him in amazment. What had I done right?
Lissy was a beautiful baby. She had soft caramel hair, and blue eyes like Brandt. Her hair, which she didnt have alot of, was done up in two tiny, baby pink ribbons on the top of her head. She had a baby pink dress on with a yellow butterfly on the chest pocket.
"So, Elisabeth will be sleeping in your room?" Brandt asked. I looked over at Wanda, who nodded. So, I turned to Brandt and nodded as well. He sighed.
"I'll be checking in on her, every few hours, while I'm not on a raid." I nodded, but my breath was short. He would be coming into
my room at different hours, checking up on his baby.

-Chapter 2-

"Hey! You brought back another worm to disect!" A man called when we walked into the cave. I shuddered at the thought and Wanda hissed at him. He backed up.
"No, Brandt. God, you've been such an ass since Windy died. Do you really want Lissy to see her father doing this?" Melanie asked, smirking. Brandt growled.
His movements were quick. He ran up to her, smacking her with the back of his palm. She slapped him back, but with a faster movement. Jared quickly jumped infront of them, pinning Brandt in a headlock. I held onto Wanda's arm, worriedly. She patted my hand, telling me it was going to be alright.
When Jared and Brandt got up, Wanda took Brandt's hand and took him over to me. She looked at both me and him, smiling.
"Brandt, this is Starlight. She will be taking care of Lissy for you." Brandt's eyes were fixed in a glare.
"I can take care of my own daughter by myself!" He screamed, pushing me down onto the ground. Shocks of pain wrentched through my body, and icy cold tears sprung out of my eyes, and dripped down my cheeks. I got up, and ran.

This is how i imagine her.
-CHAPTER ONE-

Life is something a soul has everything of. Souls dont die, they move on. When souls want to die, they are killed, but they do not naturally die, unless you are a mother.
Souls dont let other souls kill themselves. It's just the way we are, caring and loving.
Some souls believe they can own everything, but hide their greed behind a mask of love and care for others, but when they want to, it comes out.
Sometimes, I wish I was a human. I would naturally die, and never have to move on. I have already lost my best friend, Wanderer, by the sting of dying hosts. Now, I dont know where she is.
My host of the moment, a human on Earth, is only 18, but she looks as if she is in her 20s. She is beatuiful, but looks older than she is. Her name was Farrah, and I talked to her through the first year, before her voice dissapeared. She was my best friend, ever since I lost Wanderer.
The fatal night that changed everything was March 11th, 2009. The night that I sat in my favorite red bra with black lace, red and black boy boxers and a black silk robe watching TV until 3:00 am, when I finally drifted to sleep. I didnt...

Doc started the dissection.

Jared tried to get me to leave the clinic, but I refused to leave. Ian and Jared couldn't get me out, they only had to rely on Kyle. Too bad he was with Sunny.
So, instead, I got to watch Doc work his magic.
At first, I couldn't help anticipating what was going to happen. I was jumpy, I continued to rub my hands on my thighs, even though I was just rubbing part of my leg and the stupid sun dress.
When Doc finally started, I acted like I was calm. Even though I continued to rub my hands on my thighs, I played it cool.
As Doc cut into the side of the neck, Wanda and Melanie helped him. Blood poured onto the rag underneath his neck, just so blood wouldn't stain the cot.
It wasn't long till silver cut through the red -- I stared in disbelief, wondering how this was possible. I watched as Doc slid over and placed the Soul into the cryotank that Ian was holding open. I watched as he gently closed the door, then the light change color.

It was a soul.
The boys had kidnapped a soul.
Did they usually do this?

I began to tap my foot impatiently, stealing peeks at the soul then to Jared, then to Doc.
I wasn't even suppose to be in the clinic.
I didn't like this, what they where about to do with the soul. Lacey and Candy where like that, but they were different. Lacey was because of some Seeker that was attached to Wanda, and Candy was an experiment for Doc.
Could this guy be a Seeker?
I began to chew on my lower lip, looking at the Soul laying on the cot. He was tall and lanky, with red curly hair. He had few freckles, and his skin was pale. I couldn't tell what color his eyes where, partly because he had his eyes closed.
I was still wearing that awful sun dress, but then dough on my arms dried, making it easier to chip off. I still had no shoes on, the rocks in the cave cut into my skin.
After a couple of seconds, I took down my curly hair. I loosened it, then went back to the conversation going on in Doc's office.

That week, the boys went on a raid.
I wanted to go, just to feel like old times, but they told me I couldn't, that it was too dangerous. Which really pissed me off. At first, I figured it was just because it was "too dangerous", but later, I found out that it was because I wasn't trusted, yet. I couldn't blame them much, either. Even though I was one of their own, they didn't want me giving them away. They thought I was an amateur, like I had never done this before in my life.
Back at the tunnels, Sunny continued to follow me. It was annoying, it was because Kyle wasn't there. One time, I told her to get lost and she burst into tears, only making me feel guilty for doing so. I ended up rocking her to sleep, then sharing a room with her. In fact, I had to leave my room with Lily to stay with the Soul. She begged me.
For the next two weeks, I comforted Sunny and did my chores. Nothing exciting happened. I played soccer with Jamie and Lily. Even though Lily wasn't too into it, something about Wes that I had yet to learn, me and Jamie talked forever. He explained to me what happened between Melanie and Wanda, why they where so close. I thought it was pretty...

I fit in just fine.
After the first three weeks, I found in extremely awkward. I wanted to do everything on my own, I was so used to doing things on my own that I wasn't used to having help. I loved the help though. I didn't have to worry about water or my hygienic needs. We had soap, even though it burned like hell, it was still considered soap. My favorite job was working in the kitchen and in the garden.
The men there, they are all like my brothers. I've never really had any real love interest, I grew up with three brothers. That was the only way I was able to survive, to think like the boys. I didn't weep all night, curled up in a ball. I did the first year on my own, yes. I couldn't stand being alone, and I was terrified. But, I knew that if my brothers where there, they would constantly be picking on my and calling me a little girl. That's why I sucked it up and got over myself. It was the only way I was able to survive. Look at me now.
"Shay! We need your help in the garden," Jared came running in.

After the long ride back to this place, "this place" being the place that I didn't know the name of, we stopped at some caves. I didn't know what was going on, but I figured it was just so that the Seekers didn't find their Jeep.
We where on foot from then, the humans talked to the soul. How did they do that? I have no clue. I was still suspicious about Melanie, wondering what was up with her neck. I kept my questions to myself, I would wait until they led me to where ever we where heading.
We where walking in caves, it was dark, I could barely see where I was going. I have been in situations like this in the past, I strained my senses, listening for Melanie and Wanderer. Every now and then, someone touched my arm, either Ian, Brandt or Kyle. They where just making sure I didn't run off or something. Why would I run off? I only ran before because I thought they were a bunch of Seekers. Now that I know there are more humans out there, still alive and fighting, I'm not running off any time soon. If I run off at all, that is.

It took me awhile to understand this all. Jeb, the old man, tried to explain it to me. Hey continued to call me "honey" and "sweety". It made me uncomfortable, no one ever called me that. My father didn't even call me that, let alone any of my other relatives. I kept stealing glances at everyone, Kyle, Ian. Kyle and Ian looked a lot alike, they could have been twins, but Kyle was taller and stronger.
I kept peeking at Wanda, I was afraid of her, even though I wanted to hug her. She looked like one of my friends that I would greet with a hug, but she was a soul. She was my enemy.
We where walking through the desert, I made them stop to get my water and my things, which wasn't much. I only had water, and a bag that was filled with alien medicine and a cheap jacket, just in case I got cold.
When Jeb noticed I was peeking at Wanda, he patted her back once.
"This here is Wanda, or Wanderer. She's a good soul, she is. She's helped us out, she couldn't hurt a fly," he grinned at Wanderer, from ear to ear.

Strong hands helped me to my feet, but I punched the guy in the face. He wasn't expecting it, of course. I punched his left cheek once I was standing -- still coughing -- I didn't look at any of the parasites that where about to abduct me. The guy who I had punched in the face chuckled.
He laughed at me.
"Well, this one sure isn't a soul."
What did he mean by that? Of course I wasn't a soul! Where these things trying to trick me? I could feel rage burning through me. Finally, I straightened my back, and prepared to run. Before I could take off, someone noticed it right away, and pulled me back. It was that girl again, the one who had jumped on me.
"Melanie, be careful, you don't want to hurt her," it was that childish voice again. I looked up at the blond, who had a worry expression on her face. She was a soul! She had the silver behind her eyes, I could see it. I backed up, hoping that I could get away from this group as soon as possible. Someone caught me before I could run, this time holding my arms down by my stomach, his arms wrapped around my stomach.
