Chapter 17:Sylvia Plath said "I desire the things that will destroy me." What do you suppose she meant? At the time I was sure it was Alex that would destroy me and I was right. I guess it was the universes way of saying that living and dead don't mix, as if I didn't already know that. I wanted to deny the laws of the living but instead I became a pawn in a sick game. After I killed Alex it would be checkmate. I approached Alex's resident house, I did not knock, instead I broke the lock and walked in. The lights were off except for one which came from an office at the end of the hall. The door was open a crack and I pushed it open, Alex had his head on an old wooden desk and was softly snoring, the soft light from a dingy lamp eliminating the cresses of his shirt and crevices of his neck. I could not see his face but I knew if I could I wouldn't be able to go through with Antonio's orders. I cared about Antonio allot, when I first came to the clan I wanted to be his love forever. It wasn't till he took control f the clan that I decided I wanted out, he became cruel and manipulative. I also loved Alex which made things so much more difficult, I made a blood elegance In hopes that he would take me and the clan far away and I could ask Jared to erase my memory or something. Antonio was much more cruel than expected, truly one of Satan's children.
"Alex I'm so sorry but I'm you should not piss off a vampire, Camilla's next." I lower my lips to his neck prepared to bite him, all of the sudden he began to stir.
"Huuh...?" he said in a groggy voice. I failed to notice the stake in his left hand as he swung it around nailing me in the shoulder. I staggered back clutching my shoulder as my black blood spilled onto the floor. I should have expected that from someone who came from a long line of vampire hunters, goes to show that he was studying hunters teqnics like pretending to sleep or be unconscious. I raised my eyes to meet his and I could feel my eyes glowing red in the shadows. That's when I noticed his eyes glowing blue, another sign he was a hunter. He ran at me grabbing my hair and throwing me into the light so he could see my face. Just then the recognition sunk in.
Chapter 18:"Christa?...I....I don't understand how?" I was still holding my shoulder, I lifted my eyes to his and immediately I felt like collapsing. How could I do this to Alex? I love him I don't want to hurt him I thought.
"Alex please let me explain." I began, just then a pain like a million stakes filled my head and I heard his voice kill him Fang, what are you waiting for? Said Antonio.
"AHHHH! STOP ANTONIO PLEASE!" I yelled. I won't, no I won't....not unless Alex attacks first! I yelled back. I couldn't take it the pain was horrible, that's what happens when you disobey the blood loyalty it makes you suffer. Alex did not attack, instead he stared down at me with shock and disbelief. I was the one thing that he was trying to protect himself from. I felt tears of crimson fall down my cheeks, a sign that my human side was leaving me and the vampire emerging. No, no, no I thought again pushing back. Slowly the crimson liquid turned to salt water but my fangs were still extracted and my body still begged to be fed. I wasn't sure how long I had been screaming but it was long enough for Alex, he sunk to his knees and crawled towards me. He raised his hand to my cheek wiping away my tears with his thumb, I felt my whole body shake then collapsed. I leaned against Alex for support and he wrapped his arms around me pulling me towards him. My tears stopped and we sat in silence. I could not remember the last time I slept but I began to feel the wave of tranquility and calm wash over me. I laid my head on his lap with my eyes closed.
"Please Alex don't leave me, I don't want to be alone." I said in a hushed voice. I had never shown such weakness or innocents around a person, but I knew I could around Alex.
"You know Christa your nothing like them, your better" He replied. And we sat on the floor together under the soft glow of the moon that shone through his window.
