This is just something i started writing.. Im not sure where its wanting to go.. but please comment and tell me if i should continue or not.. this is just the opening chapter. It gets better from here. But please let me know.

I walked through the halls of my high school alone. I tried to ignore the stares people were giving me but it was hard. This had to be one of first times anyone had seen me walk the halls without my best friend Kayla. But ever since Kayla had hooked up with this jock jerk Justin, she never had time for me anymore. Which bothered me more than I let on. I turned down one hallway and headed for the back hallway by the choir and band rooms. It was one of the only hallways that weren’t monitored by security cameras, therefore making it one of the most popular hallways for the couples. And of course my first class was in that hallway. It was bad enough not having a boyfriend, but having to walk through making out couples only made it worse. I knew I would find Kayla back there sucking face with her tool of a boyfriend. Yuck. I pushed through the doors and instantly identified my best friend, pushed up against the wall, kissing Justin like it was the last day on Earth.
“Uh umm.” I cleared my throat loudly. They both sprang apart and Kayla glared at me, straightening her clothes.
“ Geez, Nissa. Did you have to scare us like that? We thought it was the dean or something.” Jerk Face Justin snapped.
“ Yeah I did. Kayla and I are gonna be late.” I glared at him, even though our class was just twenty feet away.
“ She can stay a few more minutes.” Justin said, regaining his cool. He ran a hand through his sandy blonde hair, and leveled smug green eyes at me. He was quite a looker. Too bad he was such a jerk.
“ She’s coming with me.” I said in a fake nice voice and grabbed Kayla’s arm, dragging her with me before she could think.
“ Bye Babe!” She yelled back to Justin dramatically.
“ Oh please, Kay.” I rolled my eyes. She was way too serious with this guy.
“ You know what Nissa? Me and Justin have been talking-” She started. I interrupted, already knowing where this was headed.
“ You and Justin talk? Wow. I thought all you did was suck face.” I said sarcastically. Kayla huffed a breath.
“ Yes, we talk. And we have decided that the only reason you don’t like him is because you’re just jealous you don’t have a boyfriend like I do.”
I stopped in shock.
“ What?” I exclaimed.
She rattled on, oblivious to my mouth hanging open.
“ So, we’ve decided to get you a boyfriend so you wont hate Justin so much.”
I felt my anger start to build.
“ Me not having a boyfriend has nothing to do with me not liking Justin. He is a jerk.”
“ No he is not!” Kayla almost shrieked.
“ Whatever. But in any case, you’re too serious with him. He only wants one thing from you.” I had started walking, too angry to notice Kayla not walking with me. I didn’t notice it until she grabbed my arm and whirled me around. It happened so fast, I couldn’t even start to duck when her fist came at my face. I managed to move just a little, so her fist glanced off my cheekbone, breaking most of the force of the blow, and slid into my eye.
For a second, Kayla looked like she couldn’t believe what she had just done. Then her face hardened and she flipped her chestnut hair over her shoulder.
“ I don’t think you need me to tell you that you will be needing to find another ride home. Justin is no longer offering that service to you, Janissa.”
I didn’t really realize how serious this was. But between the punch and the use of my real name, it was starting to sink it. Without waiting for me to say anything, Kayla turned and stalked to our first hour choir class. Suddenly, I realized the throbbing in my cheek and eye and figured she had hit me harder than I thought. I needed to go to the bathroom and take inventory of the damage. I walked into my choir class and located my teacher. She allowed me to go to the bathroom. I grabbed the hall pass and walked quickly to the bathroom, the throbs intensifying. As I walked down the hall, I got a glimpse of someone going around the corner in front of me. I shook off the uneasy feeling that had suddenly washed over me and entered the girl’s restroom. I stared into the huge mirror that almost covered one wall. My blue eyes were huge and shining with unshed tears. My long blonde hair looked fine, but under my right eye was a beautiful mass of blue, black and yellow already starting to form. I was going to have a wonderful black eye. Maybe I could call my mom and have her come and get me so I could be meat on it. That’s what they always did in the movies. I walked slowly out of the bathroom, trying to debate what to do. I ran right into a rock hard body.
    I almost fell back from the impact of hitting such a solid object. Long arms wrapped around me, helping me find my balance again.
“ Wow. That’s quite a shiner.” A deep voice said.
I looked up quickly, taking in the pretty face above me. Emerald green eyes peered down at me, surrounded my light blonde hair, that was a little on the longish side, and styled to flop down over his forehead. I resisted wanting to push it back. I stepped back reluctantly, taking him in.
He looked like a band boy. A black tee-shirt and worn and ripped jeans showed off his nice body.
I tried to keep from staring. He was a bit on the pale side, but over all was very buff. When I finally drug my eyes off of him, I noticed he was doing the same thing to me. I blushed, feeling very self conscious.
“ I’m Nick.” He said, offering a hand.
“ Janissa.” I answered, and hesitantly placed my hand in his. Instantly, I felt a rush flow over my body. Something felt like it was tickling my brain. Cool fingers felt like they were sliding along my memories. I stared into his emerald green eyes, which were now streaked with a lighter green color. A memory flashed in front of my eyes, but not one of my own. A person was coming. I was trying to run, but unable to get away. The person was coming closer and closer.
“ Its okay. This will only hurt for a moment. You will be better after I do this. It wont hurt that bad.” A voice said, colder than the pavement under my skin. Why was I laying on the road? Cold hands lifted me, and suddenly a brief needle of pain pierced my neck…The memory suddenly disappeared.
Nick was staring at me with emerald green eyes wide with disbelief. I stared back, equally confused. His eyes suddenly cleared, and the confidence returned.
“ Well, its very nice to meet you, Janissa.” He said, smiling. My knees sagged as a dimple showed up in his right cheek.
“ You can call me Nissa. All my friends do.” I said automatically. Nick grinned, revealing shiny white even teeth.
“ Great. You need a ride home?” He smiled placed a hand on my lower back, guiding me toward the office.
“ How did you know I needed to go home?” I asked, confused.
Nick paused a minute. “ Well who wouldn’t with a shiner like that?”
I nodded, convinced. “ Right. Well if you wouldn’t mind, that would be great.” A little warning was ringing at the back of my mind. You barely know this guy! He could be a kidnapper! Don’t let him drive you home!
I shook all the doubts out of my mind. He was a nice guy. I trusted him already. For some odd reason. Again I felt the prickly feeling of someone watching me streak down my spine. I shuddered and looked around but no one was there. I shook my head and followed Nick out of the school.
