You know, I already made a list of those horrible people who will gladly take the lives of others… So I thought why not talk about more of them. I don’t know why, but it seems that video games and murderers seem to go together in a very insane puzzle. So today, we will talk about ten more video game murderers. First, the rules. Only from games that I have played and only one game per franchise. Also, I am not going to include the same killers from the last list, in order to avoid being redundant. And lastly, neither Trevor from GTA V or Vaas from Far Cry 3 will be on this list. Vaas has killed people, but I see him as more of a human trafficker. And Trevor is…. well, he’s basically everything wrong in the world. Lastly, there will be spoilers for Fable, Trauma Team, Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations, and Heavy Rain. Okay, with all that said, let’s get to the list
#10: Rednecks from Dead Rising 2
Hold on. Aren’t these guys literally just a replacement for the Convicts in the first game…. Well, kinda. In the first game, you had to fight three convicts in a jeep that would run you and survivors over, making carrying them across the outdoors hard. However, the Rednecks were MUCH worse. First off, how are they killers and not psychopaths. Well, like every other psychopath in the game, they may have been sane at one point, and may have been able to gladly help someone. The Rednecks, however, don’t care about human life at all. They are just a group of racist madmen who kill anyone they see as being unloyal to America. And what’s worse is that there are four of them, on top of buildings, with sniper rifles, happily gunning people down survivors while sitting atop the buildings. And they aren’t any easier when you fight them up close either, let me tell you. All I can say is that I REALLY hope Dead Rising 3 doesn’t have any psychopaths that wait for you outside.
#9: Lady Grey from Fable (SPOILERS)
Let’s talk about fratricide- Wait, what the hell. That’s messed up. So yeah…. Lady Grey killed her sister. What happened was that when Lady Grey and her sister were living in the Grey House near Barrow Fields, a masked man (If you played Fable, you know who I am talking about) Told Lady Grey about how she could be mayor, and that her older sister, Amanda, was getting in the way. So what happened was that Lady Grey poisoned Amanda and locked her in the cellar of the house to die, where she then left the house and moved to Bowerstone and became mayor. Since then, people have been trying to prove that she was a killer, and all of them have been killed. However, after you manage to find out that she is a killer, she then has the nerve to ask you to marry her and become mayor as long as you destroy the letter, and keep the secret hidden. And the worst part is that even after she is killed, she is revived again in Fable II. As if we needed her to be revived.
#8: Jacket from Hotline Miami
There is very little that can be said about Jacket. Hell, we don’t even know what he looks like. All we know is that you have to play as the guy, and that he is one of the most brutal killers in video games. After an assassination attempt, he starts going around Miami (I think it’s Miami. It’s in the title), looking for the ones responsible. And by that, I mean he shoots, stabs, and beats every single criminal and drug dealer he comes across until they are nothing more than a bloody, twitching corpse. However, even though he is able to beat criminals like a pineta, he himself is able to be killed in only one hit (Two if you’re lucky), so at least that way, we know that this psychopath isn’t entirely powerful. Also, he is always wearing a mask… Like true psychotic murderer fashion.
#7: Eddie Low from Grand Theft Auto IV
Eddie Low… isn’t the most socially acceptable person. Being abused as a kid, he tortured animals and enjoyed setting things on fire, wore girls clothing, and ended up murdering his father, brother, and mother out of spite. Later on, he moved to Liberty City where he ended up committing dozens of murders to anyone he could find. And if that wasn’t bad enough, he performs literally every unacceptable sexual act, including bestiality, mutilation, and, yes, necrophilia. This is just getting disgusting now, isn’t it. And in the first side mission where Niko meets him, Eddie asks for Niko if he can drive him to the docks so he can “drop off a friend”. And in the second side mission, he makes the mistake of trying to kill Niko. Yeah, knife against a gun. Tell me which wins. And if that wasn’t bad enough, it is believed that Eddie was actually based off of the real life serial killer, the Son of Sam… Yeah, I think that’s about enough.
#6: Scissorman from Clock Tower
Oh god, this demonic bastard. With a 16-bit game on the SNES, you wouldn’t expect something like a midget in a schoolboy uniform with a giant pair of scissors to be so scary… But trust me, this son of a bitch is the stuff of nightmares. throughout the game, Scissorman is constantly chasing Jennifer throughout the Barrows Mansion. You can see this guy literally everywhere. He jumps out of the window, impaling a girl with his giant scissors. He keeps a rotting corpse inside of a kitchen cabinet. He is also not as dumb as he looks… in the SNES game anyway… He always knows where Jennifer is, and unless she is hiding in a smart place where she knows Scissorman won’t find her, she is going to die. And trust me, this son of a bitch will gladly hunt you down, surprising you at the worst possible times, and murder all your friends. And to think this psychopath is just an angry kid.
#5: Sandra Lieberman from Trauma Team (SPOILERS)
Let’s ignore the fact that this is a hospital drama and turn it into fucking CSI. Though, trust me, Sandra is much more evil and far better than any CSI criminal. Throughout Naomi’s story, she is trying to find this one man known as The Revolutionary, a psychopath who sends bombs to famous people, who all end up dead. His victims were a political leader, a signer, and an athlete. When Naomi had finally found the criminal, it had turned out that the Revolutionary was actually a fake. The real criminal had used the Revolutionary, whose real name was Stephan, as a way to throw the police off, but after Stephan began blackmailing Sandra, she then killed him as well. And when she knew about Naomi, she tried to kill her by delivering a bomb to her. And if that wasn’t insane enough, Sandra even let Naomi come to her house just so she could lock her in a fake house filled with bomb that were ready to go off as she went to go and kill the First Lady. Oh, and of course, she sends the Rosalia Virus, a disease that kills people in seconds if no medical treatment comes in time. Sandra is a psychopath who wants nothing more than to cause total destruction. And that is what makes her a great antagonist. Shame the game wasn’t as appreciated.
#4: The Groom from Outlast: Whistleblower
Uh….. If there are any male readers of this article, I am going to warn you right now…. This part is…. a bit hard to read. The Groom is one of the characters you meet that tries to kill you. After a psychotic naked cannibal with a saw, you wouldn’t think things could get worse… But no, it gets worse right here. You soon find that some inmates are either hiding in fear because the Groom is so psychotic, or you are running from inmates who want to give you to the Groom so they can save themselves. When you do meet the Groom…. OH BOY! He will mistake you for a woman, and will then try to capture you. So, you run as fast as you can until you hide in a locker…. which is not a good idea, because he then locks you in there, and keeps you in there. Through the holes, you can see the Groom……. Cutting off the penises of other inmates before he murders them. And before you know it, he has you strapped to a table, ready to cut off your own penis right in front of you….. This is disturbing beyond all belief. And yes, they have to show you everything. Thankfully, you get saved before you do lose your penis, but not thankfully, your leg is broken and now the Groom is trying to kill you… Yeah, I think that if there was any moment that stuck out in Outlast, it was the Groom.
#3: Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal
I can’t believe I left this guy out of my original list. This guy is one of the most famous killers ever, and I just forgot about him. What is wrong with me? From all of the games before, Sweet Tooth was nothing more than a psychotic clown with a flaming head who went around every last Twisted Metal tournament and killed everyone involved for fun. He is so psychotic, that he actually makes the front cover of every single Twisted Metal game he was in. He was like Vaas before Vaas was even around. But the best way to describe Sweet Tooth is in the 2012 Twisted Metal. He was once a normal man, with a family, working as a ice cream truck driver. However, he had a voice in his head that was telling him to kill people. After finally snapping, he made a clown mask, and then murdered his family, except for his daughter, who he describes as “the one that got away”. So, now he is trying to find her, while killing every single person he finds along the way. I would make him number one, but I only played Twisted Metal Black, and while he was indeed psychotic in that one, it’s only one game. Sorry Sweet Tooth.
#2: Dahlia Hawthorne from Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations (SPOILERS)
Ever heard of the term “looks can be deceiving”? No where is that more true than with Dahlia Hawthorne. When you first meet her, she seems like the most sweetest girl in the world, who wouldn’t hurt a fly. Hell, she even has butterflies fluttering around her. But trust me, Dahlia is nothing more than pure evil. Let's just look at the many things she has done. Dahlia stole a gem from her father's jewelry shop and used it in a staged kidnapping with her current boyfriend, Terry Fawles. But she then jumped off a bridged with the gem and faked her death, so Terry would take the fall. And after it was proven that Dahlia did try to frame Terry, he was so heartbroken, that he poisoned himself in the middle of his trial and killed himself. She then dated Phoenix Wright before he was an attorney in order to hide the poison she used to try and kill a defense attorney who had found out about her crimes, by making the poison bottle look like a necklace. And she then tried to kill Phoenix in order to get the bottle back. And after that, even after she was found out to be a killer, and was sentenced to death, she came back as a spirit by tricking Pearl into using her medium abilities to summon her spirit and possess Maya’s mother to try and kill Maya just to get revenge on Mia, the sister of Maya and the attorney who brought Dahlia to justice before she herself was murdered. Dahlia is such an evil person that not even death will keep her from killing people, making her one of the most threatening villains in the entire Ace Attorney series.
#1: The Origami Killer from Heavy Rain (SPOILERS
Oh man, the spoilers are heavy with this one… HA, it’s cause the game is Heavy Rain. The Origami Killer is a man who has been known to murder people throughout 2009 and 2011. Most of his victims include that of young boys from the ages nine to thirteen. He always abducts the children in public areas, with their bodies showing no signs of a struggle, meaning that if the killer could kidnap children in public without worrying about fighting with them to get them to his destination, it means that this is someone children can trust. And it does not help that when he abducts them, he doesn’t immediately kill them. What he does is leave them somewhere during a rainstorm where they will drown in the water after only a few days, hence the name Heavy Rain. After they are dead, he leaves their bodies somewhere abandoned, with a small origami bird in their hands, which is how he was named the Origami Killer. But the worst part is that he will also force Ethan Mars, a man who had already lost his son in a car accident, to do so many awful things in order to save his own son. But, what makes this much more terrifying is that the killer the entire time was the police lieutenant, Scott Shelby. Throughout the game, he had been a fake detective in order to find any and all evidence of him being the Origami Killer and destroyed all evidence in order to hide that he was the Origami Killer. He would use his status as a police officer to gain the trust of his victims so he could kill them and abducting them would not seem suspicious. But only one question remains… Why? Why would he murder young boys? The reason is because, as a child, his father abused him and his brother. When his brother fell into a pipe during a rainstorm, the water began to fill up. When Scott tried to ask his father for help, he refused and let him die, which is what happened. Scott now tried to let young boys drown as a way to see how far a father will go to save their son, which is exactly what Ethan Mars does. And he does everything, from killing a man, drinking poison, evading the police, and even cutting his finger off. Scott is a killer who does what he can for his victims, or kill them. Either way is fine with him. And that is what makes the Origami Killer the most dangerous killer on this list.
So, there you have it. Did you enjoy the list? Tell me what you thought of it. With that said, I will see you all next time.
#10: Rednecks from Dead Rising 2
Hold on. Aren’t these guys literally just a replacement for the Convicts in the first game…. Well, kinda.
