The pack members who had interviewed Eight were now prime for deliberation between themselves as he waited at the bottom of the trail entrance.
The five of them discussed among themselves and carefully weighed both the pros and problems that taking in a pack member - especially one they barely knew, would bring to their clan.
"Well," The large black wolf, Otto began his observations, "He's not weak. Thats a certainty. He knows what he's talking about, at least a little. At most, I imagine that he'll be a decent enough combat or hunt member."
The others nodded in agreement as Deogee piped up, "Well, that certainly is a start, I suppose. But bare in mind that we are considering both sides of the debate here."
Benjamin piped up, his scratchy voice filling the cave-like cropping into the mountain,
"As far as hunting goes, he may not be weak, but I don't think he'll be taking any real game on his own. He's still pretty small and very used to hunting in a pack - as support, I'll remind you. It will take at least two other members with him, and one has to be an Alpha if thats how he hunts, which means resources need to be assigned to him that could be useful elsewhere. But," The stout wolf continued on to the opposite side of his point, "He can hunt, and that's not nothing."
A silence fell between them for a moment or two as they exchanged glances to see who would speak next, either for or against the newcomer, Eight.
Finally, Dusk spoke her peace.
"He answered each question with little falter." She began. It was her duty to analyze him during his ordeal and take into consideration whether or not he would be a renegade, a loose cannon, or a productive member.
"I believe, whole heartedly, that he is genuine. He doesn't seem to be keeping anything back. He spoke his mind, not just what he thought we wanted to hear. While that can be a problem too, in the wrong circumstances, his honesty is a rarity. I believe we can count on him to be honest at all times."
"He is quite, well mannered." Jayne spoke up.
"You have my full agreement on that." Said Deogee.
The others chimed in agreeably.
"Dusk is right about her assumptions." Jayne continued. His body language, his facial expressions, even the manner in which he answered the questions."
They moderated between themselves for a time before they came to an agreement.
"How long will he be allowed to stay?" Asked Otto.
Deogee replied, "I told him that he could find rest here as long as he was willing to help the pack."
"That doesn't make him a clan member." Benjamin reminded them, snippishly.
"Agreed." They each accepted and continued.
"So, we're in agreement. His placement? He is well versed in many areas, given his upbringing."
Each member nodded and considered. They went down the small, curved line they sat in in the order they each questioned Eight, Otto began.
"Beta."
"Delta." replied Dusk before looking down to Benjamin.
"Delta."
"Beta." Came Jayne's response and they each looked to Deogee.
"Beta." His voice came calmly and sure. "We are agreed?"
Each member gave an 'Aye' and the five stood and lined up with their backs to the outcropping to announce to the pack members who were in the den. Mostly higher ranked members, high ranked Betas, Alphas, Deltas, even some of the more well liked Omegas were present, recognized so for their pack potential.
Deogee addressed the group of about 50 clan members.
"It has been decided amongst the elders to allow the newcomer, Eight access into our den and our land. He will be an acting Beta during his time here. All in favor -"
The majority of the wolves raised their paws in unison.
"Opposed - "
A few wolves raised their paws. A token handful in comparison.
"Very well." Deogee said, "Thank you all for your participation," He turned to the other four senior pack members, "I guess I'd better go get our boy." He turned to head down the trail, every member behind him began their normal bustle and chatter behind him. The ordeal was over - all that was left to do was inform a waiting Eight.
And apparently impatient, judging from his activity of "Kicking rocks as far as he could" as Deogee rounded the path to the opening.
He chuckled as he walked up behind Eight, who immediately startled into attention, clearing his throat and trying to make his impatience seem more like an experiment or something,
"Oh-hoho.... Oh, uh... I was just, uhm... Rocks." he said. For someone as eloquent as he could be, he sure botched that one.
"So, uh... How'd it go?" He asked, his excitement mounting very visibly.
Deogee chuckled and reassured him,
"You can settle down. The pack has decided to allow you unrestricted access to our lands and den. According, of course, to your promise to help as a pack member would. For all intents and purposes, you are an honorary member - although it has been stressed on "Honorary"." He explained, "You'll be treated as one of us as long as you are here and maintain responsibilities like one of us, but you are in no way a part of the pack. That, was not my decision, but at the same time, we were uncertain how long you'd stay."
Eight nodded, "I understand, thats... thats A-OK to me. Hell, sir, I'm just excited to be a part of the operation! I thought for sure you guys had nixed me after the first half hour of being down here..."
Deogee smiled and reassured him again. "Well, you're in, kiddo. You'll start tomorrow as an acting Beta. You will be support to any Alpha. This means that you will take orders and requests directly from them, this includes a responsibility to direct Deltas and Omegas as needed. Think you can handle it?"
"Yes sir!" Eight announced excitedly, "I thought I'd be pegged an Omega for sure, heh." He laughed nervously. There was nothing wrong with being an Omega, but he wasn't used to being on the bottom rung. He had abilities and talents and he was used to utilizing them.
"Alright then," The head wolf said, surprised at Eight's Enthusiasm, surprised but pleasant, "You'll begin tomorrow morning. Early." He stressed. "The day is half done, so, I suggest you make your rounds. For now, catch you something to eat, make your presence known to the members in the field, Get a lay for the land. And, stay out of the east plains, if you can, they're hunting as we speak."
Eight smiled excitedly, his tail wagging left and right. "Yes, sir! An-and Thank you!" He shouted and sprinted off in the direction he remembered the outcropping of the cave facing - he was familiar with the layout in that direction from what he saw when he was topside. And he was certainly hungry by this point in the day, so, that may be one of his first stops. He was excited to be sure, there was no mistake. You could see him coming a mile off at a dead sprint as he trailed into the field, laughing and chuckling to himself. More for the victory than the 'family ties', though it was nice to be a part of something again - for a while, he wouldn't be alone to his thoughts for days at a time.
Deogee watched as he tore across the field. The old wolf laughed to himself, shaking his head. He'd never seen a younger wolf become so excited over something like this. He knew by watching this that he - that THEY had made the right decision. He returned to the cliff top. The sentiment seemed to be the same among the other four senior members, even Benjamin. He may be an old, gruff and surly beast, but he had a heart of gold.
They all glanced in acknowledgement of their deed of the day. Pleased with their decisions, every one.
And pleased even more by Eight's blatant enthusiasm. Just like that they knew, This dog has certainly had his day.

I just needed to let fellow Alpha and Omega know about this, there is a petition on Change. org now calling on Lionsgate and Crest to make an Alpha and Omega spin-off movie featuring Lilly and Garth as the main characters.
Every time someone signs the petition, another letter is sent to the head of Lionsgate's Motion Picture Group telling him how much we'd love to see a movie like this.
So, if you like Lilly and Garth, or just want to see the movie series continue beyond the next few sequels, signing the petition would not be a bad idea.
The petition can be found by searching "Alpha and Omega" or "Lilly and Garth" on Change. org. If anybody wants to sign it, that would be great.
We're going to need all the help we can get if we want Lionsgate to take this seriously. So every signature helps. With enough support, we can get Lionsgate to take notice and get this movie made.

so, i loved Alpha and Omega 1 and 2. they're the best movies i ever seen! Alpha and Omega 1 had a great story, lovable characters along with funny and touching moments. Alpha and Omega 2 had all of these stuff back again and made the franchise even better. Now, i really can't wait for A&O 3 and 4 to come out, cause this franchise's been endeared to me ever since A&O 1.
but unfortunately, Lionsgate confirmed that A&O 4 is gonna be the end to the "Alpha and Omega" saga. that makes me feel sad, cause like i said, i love this saga, and i always will, but when it ends, i'll be stuck in watching stupid movies again.
so yeah, it's confirmed: Alpha and Omega 4 is gonna end another great saga
