All I could manage to see was pure black. I suddenly felt so cold; my eyes were burning underneath my eyelids.
I felt something push against my chest, regaining my bodyheat to start up. "Courtney!" Someone yelled, concerned.
My eyelids opened slowly to see The Flock leaning over me.
I moaned and felt the slight pain in my side. "What the hell happened?" I mumbled.
"Trent escaped." Geoff whispered.
Those words sent a chill down my spine, Trent was still out there and was waiting for me to be alone. "Courtney? Are you alright?" Duncan worried. I nodded and sat up; pushing them out of my way.
I covered up the deepened cut in my side with my hand. I didn't want them to be boohoo about me right now. Trent was the problem.
"Courtney. Wait up!" Geoff yelled. I sighed and turned around slowly; Forgetting to cover up my injury. "Oh My God!" Bridgette gasped. I looked down and saw that the gash of blood was getting worse. "Look I'm okay guys. Rea-" Duncan interupted me. "No. You are not okay,Courtney. That cut is getting wor-"
"Eat it, Hale!" I shreiked. I wasn't a little five year old anymore; I could take care of myself. Suddenly I felt my side closing abruptly, "What the Hell?" I whispered.
My cut was healing on it's own. The bone structure was morphing back into place. Allowing the cut to sink back into my body.
'She's's a freak'
Those words flew into my head with a low whisper as if trying to prevent me from hearing. "I am not a freak!" I glared.
"No one is saying you're a freak, Courtney." Bridge said, calmly. "Yes, and they thought it actually." I whispered.
"How did yo-"Gwen started.
"It was you." I lifted my hand and stuck out a palid finger out at her. "You thought I was a freak."
"How did you do that?" She whispered.
"I don't know,Gwen. Maybe, Its a gift." I mumbled to myself.
"Hello, Flock!" Chris walked over to us and smiled brilliantly.
"So, now you decide to come out!" I scolded.
"Hey, I was busy."
"You know what, Mclain? Fuck you! Me and The Flock are out!"
His eyes widened,"What?! You can't leave me! I'm mclain."
"Yeah, Mclain the Asshole." I smirked. The Flock let a web of snickers fly. I motioned them to follow me to the shack and pack.
"So this is it? Huh?" Geoff continued,"No more Chris?" I sighed slightly and ran my hand through my hair. "Yeah, pretty much." I said.
Deep down inside, I knew I couldn't be able to trust anyone anymore.
"Princess... You okay?" Duncan glanced at me, worriedly.
I knew I couldn't trust Duncan either; Even though I loved him.
"Yeah, Im okay." I gave him a quick peck on the lips and intertwined my hand in his.
"Alright, guys. Let's go." I looked up at the night sky and set my wings in lock; pulling my muscles in place. Right now, I didn't care what The Flock thought right now, Duncan was in my reach and I'm taking him. I jumped into the air and flew gracefully.
I glanced around and saw that Geoff and Bridgette were talking and laughing, They were meant to be together actually. I don't see why Bridgette or Geoff won't make a move.
The last one I saw was Gwen. She was flying alone by herself. I kinda felt remorse for how I acted this afternoon with her; She was trying to become friends with me and I just pushed her away like last night's lasagna.
I sighed.
Welcome to our Hell that's just beginning.
