"You got that right. And if you really knew me you'd know that I don't tolerate this from anyone. Especially a second time!"

The memory haunted me as I was parking to go to a party with my good friend.

"You're sure you wanna come?" Bridgette asked her as I got out of my car and started approaching the hotel.

"Yeah, so, Duncan's gonna be here. It doesn't matter, we are mature adults. It's not like he's gonna like...try to make us get back together or something." I said.

"Are you gonna sing?"

"No...but I am gonna dance and get crazy. I mean, this is one of Geoff's parties."

We laughed and walked into the large hotel and straight to the ballroom where the party was being held.

It was crowded as hell in there. I saw Duncan and he was flirting with some girl, and it made me the most pissed off girl in the room when he looked straight at me, then kissed the other chick.

That. Tore. Everything.

Sure, he ruined everything when he kissed another girl. For the second time. But when you look me straight in the eyes and then kiss some random girl. You have completely and utterly torn any tie I will ever have with you.

The impulse and familiarity I had started walking towards him and the random girl.

Her eyes grew really wide, really fast, and she trotted away. Duncan asked, "What the hell, Court?"

He called me Court... I thought sadly. No! Courtney, now is not the time for pity or sadness!

"You are the biggest bitch that I have ever met!"

"Why is that, sweetheart?" He spat the question.

"You look straight at me, and kiss that who-"

"Shut up, Courtney!"

He started walking away and I knew he was never going to talk to me again. Not that I minded.

Hell, I minded! I minded like hell! Duncan was a challenge and I know that's the guy's thing, how the guys like the challenge, but, who am I kidding! I love Duncan!

"I love Duncan? Still?" I asked aloud, not knowing I was speaking outside of my head.

White fingers snapped in front of my eyes and I met Bridgette's eyes as she said, "Earth to Courtney! What did you just say?"

"Ugh!" I groaned and walked away.

I walked out of the party and out into the hall. I pressed my back against a wall and fell down and put my head between my knees.

"You okay?" I heard the infamous voice ask me.

"What the hell do you want now, Duncan?"

Duncan's POV:

After I walked away from Courtney that girl I kissed earlier showed up...what was her name...oh, her name's Karolina or Kristina or something of that nature...

"Duncan! Come on, let's go dance or something!" She was obviously wasted more than a lotta people here.

"Hey....you! I'm sorry, but I gotta go!" I held up my police badge, "duty calls."

Now, I know what you're thinking! I was a total delinquent, and now I'm like my folks. A police officer. Long story short, I wanted to be with Courtney without jaily interruptions. And my parents had a good relationship with some police people, so I could stay with her.

Look where we are now...

"Hehe, I always loved a man in uniform," She purred as she put her hands on my chest.

"Woah there, chickie, haha...gotta go!" I said as I speed walked off into the hall to think.

I saw Courtney sitting there with her head down and I asked, "You okay?"

She raised her head for a moment, grimaced, then put her head back down, "What the hell do you want, Duncan?" She spat the words as if they were a wretched curse at me.

"I wonder why!" She stood up quickly and started down the hall further but I stopped her by putting my hand on her shoulder.

She sucked in a fast breathe, and I was almost sure that she smiled at the touch, but when she turned her face was just as grim as before, "Duncan, don't touch me! Don't talk me! Don't do anything with me!"

Now that made me even more wanting to annoy the heck out of her. And yet it made me even more scared of her, not that I'd ever give her that pride.

"Princess," I said the name so sincerely and sweetly that it was hard not to give me a chance. A trait of mine that I can't say I hated.

"Don't you dare 'princess' me! I'm no longer your princess. You ruined that when you kissed that damn girl!"

"This isn't worth the fight, we had that fight months ago. Now is the time when I make a failed attempt to tell you that I love you and I don't wanna hurt you, but you don't believe me. Then I make another failed attempt to prove it, but you still don't. Then I have to kiss you to show you that I really care.

"And when you still don't believe me, or at least you act like you don't, you tell me to screw off and then you walk away. But ten minutes later you'll come back and kiss me.

"And what tops it all off is that, Courtney, I love it when you do that. Any other guy would hate it! But me, no, Courtney. I love you so much that I deal with it, and I love it. God, how I love to mess with you!

"Courtney, damn it, I love you! I always freaking will and there is nothing you can do to stop it."

Courtney stood there, speechless, and she sighed, "You're wrong on one thing. This time, I'm not coming back to kiss you. I'm not coming back at all," She turned around from me and walked back into the party.

I mumbled back to myself, "Yeah, and you said that last time."

I walked into the lobby of the hotel and sat down in the waiting area that overlooked Niagara Falls. I even have to admit that it was beautiful.

It reminded me of back at TDWT, where it all broke down.

I meant it, I loved Courtney. All the other girls were just there to edge off the curve of it. You know how when you're hungry, and you eat something small to curve the edge of your hunger? That's what other girls were for me.

I know it's rude, but Courtney....Courtney...,"Duncan," Courtney's voice said.

I thought she was in my head for a second, but then I looked up and she was standing there, looking all beautiful.

When I said nothing she said, "You were right."

"About?" I asked.

"Everything."

"Well? Where's my kiss, Princess?"

She rolled her eyes, and before she kissed me she said, "You kiss one more girl, and I will kill you in the sickest ways possible."

I smirked, "I embrace that, Courtney."
