This is an article that will clear some things that have been used in arguments between Harry Potter and Twilight.

The first thing I would like to clear up is Lily Potter's protection to Harry. Now, I know some have said that it doesn't make sense because people die to protect others. For example, in the seventh book, Voldemort goes tothat family to ask for Gregorovich, but the women said he wasn't there. Voldemort raised his wand, ready to kill her, and then her kids came running out. She shielded them, and died, but then why did they die too? This doesn't work because the women didn't have a choice to live. She was going to killed by Voldemort anyway. This is not the case with Lily Potter. Because Severus Snape asked Voldemort to spare Lily, so Lily had a chance to escape from Death. But she didn't. That's why Harry survived.

This happens once more throughout the series, and it is in the 7th book when Harry knows he must meet Voldemort in the Forest where he will be killed. Same concept, he had the chance to not go, but he decides to die, to save others, and that is love at it's deepest.

Another thing that bothers me is that people think Harry Potter is bad because it uses swear words. Let me set straight that the only two times that they have used a serious bad word (and no, bloody doesn't count) was when Bellatrix almost killed Molly's daughter! How would you react if one of your kid's was about to be killed? No, I don't think you'd stop to think: Don't swear! The other time was when Ron punched Malfoy under the invisibility cloak and said "that's the second time we saved you, you two-faced bastard!" The two swear words that were used were both used in extreme situations, so I think that they were acceptable.

But with Twilight, they use smaller swear words often, like damn, and hell, so it should be ok. One thing that bothers me about Twilight is that Stephenie Meyer is too scared to kill off any of the main characters. I just think it's kind of unrealistic. I think the message from Harry Potter is that death is unfair and that it its coming for all of us, no matter what we can do. The important thing is, that they died fighting for what they believe in! And that's honour!

Dolores Jane Umbridge… can ANYONE forgive her? And yet, despite being so horrendously evil, she is a very interesting character.
She is very loyal, because we know how she remained on Fudge’s side through the whole dilemma. She is also very easy to hate, for she gave Harry countless detentions for telling the truth. We know very little about Dolores; surely Rowling knows more. She has always planned her characters to the death – one reason why Harry Potter makes a very interesting read.
Back on the topic of Umbridge, we have to accept that she could have had a childhood like Snape –...

So I am reading reasons as to why Twilight fans think Twilight is better than Harry Potter. I just want to make it clear; there is a big difference between liking one series better than another, and one series actually being better than another. I also want to reply to some of the more common ones I've seen.

"Twilight has more love!"
Okay, Twilight does not have more love than Harry Potter by any means. Twilight has a lot of obsessive lust, which is often mistaken for love, but they are quite different.

Why is their relationship lust? Why isn't it love?

Well, what do Bella and Edward do together?...

Here are some excerpts that were cut out of the Twilight books for various reasons. Some of you guys might find them interesting and maybe help you understand or see something you didn't see before.

These are copied from Stephenie Meyer's website

--------------------------

"Sometimes, in the editing process, sacrifices must be made. Some parts are cut because they slow down the action, others are cut simply to condense length, others are cut to simplify the plot. And, whatever the reason behind the removal, some cuts are more painful than others. This page is dedicated to the cuts that I miss...
