“Blair” Jake said caressing my cheek. “You will figure it out” he said trying to force a smile.
“I don’t want to figure it out Jake” I said. Just then his door burst open and Stefan was standing there. I looked at him confused. Jake sat up.
“How you feeling?” he asked.
“Good” Jacob answered in a flat tone.
“Hey Blair” Stefan smiled at me.
“Hi” I said back.
“Is it rude to ask you what you’re doing here?” I said to Stefan
“Im sure Jacob has told you everything” he said smiling. I looked at Jacob confused. “Oh…you haven’t…do you want me to tell her?” Stefan said.
“No” Jacob said in a flat tone again.
“Listen whatever you boys have against each other, sort it out” I said and walked off.
“What’s up Blair?” Seth asked all cool like nothing happened.
“Well I think Stefan and Jacob are going to rip each others throats out soon” I said, Seth chuckled.
“So you know then?” he asked
“Know what? What am I supposed to know?!” I said frustrated now.
“Stefan and Jacob have known each other since they were like seven years old…” he trailed off.
“So?” I asked.
“So, they’ve hated each other ever since, and if you don’t go back in that room now they will rip each others throats out” Seth told me.
“Jake is a strong werewolf im sure he can handle it” I said annoyed I didn’t even know why I was annoyed. Maybe the hormones are starting to play part of their job.
“I wouldn’t be so sure” Seth said
“Fine” I said rolling my eyes. I knocked on Jakes door.
“You boys still got your throats in place?” I said sarcastically through the door. No one answered.
I opened the door slightly, poking my head out only seeing Stefan sitting on a chair with his elbows on his knees and his hands crossed together, leaning forward, and his head looking out the window. Jakes bed was empty.
“Where is Jake?” I asked concerned walking into his small room.
“He went for a walk” Stefan said still looking out the window.
“What do you mean he went for a walk?” I asked.
“I mean his on his two feet and his walking” he said sarcastically his eyebrows slightly raised as he looked at me like I was stupid. I sat on Jakes bed.
“You know for someone good looking your attitude makes you ugly” I said frustrated at Stefan.
“So you think im good looking?” he asked half smiling.
“Im sure you know, all the girls were love struck when they saw you” I said rolling my eyes.
“When you say ‘all the girls’ does that mean you too?” he said his half smile increasing slightly.
“What…Oh shut-up…No” I said trying to find the words as I said it.
“So ill take that as a yes” Stefan said.
“What will you take as a yes?” Jake asked standing in his door way, I guessed he was healing because he was walking better.
“Oh Blair just told me the girls were ‘love struck’ over me when the first saw me including herself” He said in a smart tone standing up now
“What? Don’t you dare change around the words to try and make it seem like im interested in you!” I spat at him, He looked down at me, gosh I felt short standing near these tall boys.
“Who said you were interested in me, you brought it up so im taking that you are” he said still half smiling revealing his perfect white teeth, I must admit he was gorgeous, but annoying!
“Jeez for someone as big as you, you would think their brain would be big too” I said and walked off annoyed, Jacob chuckled softly.
“I think you should get some rest big boy” Stefan said to Jacob patting his other shoulder
“Sure sure” he said.
“I think you need to go home Stefan” Paul said.
“Ill take him” Sam offered, holding the door for Stefan to walk out.
“Bye Blair” Stefan winked at me.
“Go home boy” I said folding my arms.
“Now I know why you guys didn’t like each other when you were young” I said.
“I still don’t” Jake replied flopping on the couch. I looked around to see if there was anything to do, but didn’t find anything.
Jake wouldn’t talk to me about the attack that happened earlier, and every time I asked how he was holding up, he would say fine or good.
“I have to go” I said to Jacob and kissed him on the cheek. Paul was fast asleep on the other couch, while Jake had the TV playing in the background.
“Honey, where were you?! I couldn’t ring you because you have no cell!” Mum asked me as soon as I walked in, Sue was over and they were having coffee, isn’t it a bit late for that? I thought to myself
“I was over at Jakes house” I shortly replied.
“Oh okay then” Mum said and continued her conversation with Sue.
I walked so slow up the stairs, I couldn’t be bothered tonight, but I had some homework and studies that needed to be done. First I cleaned my study table and changed to globe in my work lamp then I completed most of the homework, and just started reading the novel for English called ‘the book thief’. It was getting late, 10:27pm now, and I knew I had school tomorrow. I put on my pyjamas, just the usual baggy grey t-shirt and light pink pants, I brushed my teeth, and looked myself in the mirror, and imagined what I would do if some creep was standing behind me like in those movies, I don’t know why I thought of it but I did. I let my long hair out for once, I have it tied up too much lately, since I haven’t been bothered to curl or straighten it. I sat on my bed leaning against the headboard legs crossed and just thinking. I don’t know if it was just me but mine and Jacobs’s relationship hasn’t seemed to be going anywhere, like he hasn’t even kissed me for what felt like days, his always so serious lately ever since he found out about those vampires wanting to get near me, well im still alive!
“Maybe this ‘imprinting’ thing isn’t as strong as they say…” I whispered to myself.
“How would you know?” I heard a different voice than mine now, I looked up seeing Jacob standing there shirtless, I hated it when he had no shirt on, it was my weakness.
“Jake, you look much better” I said trying to sound calm but Jakes fists were clenched into balls. He still had a white bandage thing on his shoulder.
“You don’t know what it feels like Blair” he said, swallowing hard. I didn’t know what to say to that.
“I…um…sorry?” was all I could think of.
“You don’t know what it feels like to love someone so much, always wanting to be with them, to hold them, to keep them safe all the time, to kiss them and cradle them in your arms 24/7…but you know you cant” Jake said, he voice a bit shaky. I didn’t know what to do, how to respond to any of this, because I didn’t know how it felt, and the truth was, I haven’t developed enough feelings for Jake to actually love him, I do have great feelings for him, but if I told him now that I loved him, it would be a lie, I guess one day I will know what the feelings feels like. I got up from my bed and walked over to Jake and hugged him, he hesitated a little but then he gave me a great big bear hug, stroking the back on my head, I wanted to stay like this all night, but we couldn’t.
“I love you Blair Parker” he whispered in my ear, I just smiled in his shoulder, wanting to say the same thing back to him, but it would be a lie. Jacob let go and walked to the corner of the room and picked up something.
“What are you doing?” I asked confused.
“Something I should have done a long time ago” he said. He walked up to me, his hands behind his back.
“I want to take you out…like on proper date” he said it shyly. “Oh and here” he said as he passed me a box with a present ribbon on it. “Open it” he said smiling.
I opened it gently, and inside was a new cell phone.
“Jake you didn’t ha-“
“Shh Blair I did; I owned you one, I should have never broken it in the first place, and it’s still the same number as the other one, I tried to get a similar one but they only had upgraded models of your old one” He said.
“Aw Jake thank you so much” I said and leaned in for a peck.
“So about that date, I was thinking Saturday afternoon?” he said smiling.
“Yeah Saturday sounds great im out with the girls on Friday so perfect”
I put the phone on my dresser to fix it up in the morning, me and Jake just sat on my bed and talked about random stuff, him making me laugh quite a bit I had to bite my cushion so I wouldn’t wake up my mum.
“Crap its 11:37 I should be letting you rest, especially this time of the year, exam time soon” he said.
“Oh dam exams, looks like you have to stay put on your leash so you don’t bother me any more at night” I said; Jacob chuckled.
“Blair seriously, go to sleep” he said with a huge smile.
“No! Im not tired” I whined like a little girl.
“Okay then…” Jake said with a cheeky smile.
“What are you going to do? Should I be scared?” I said smiling back
“Oh you should be very scared Ms Parker” he said throwing his most perfect smile ever. All of a sudden Jake grabbed me and threw me over his shoulders so I was just hanging there.
And he somehow started tickling my feet, I couldn’t stop laughing, I was the most ticklish person ever.
“Jake!” I tried saying laughing hard now; he threw me on the bed and tickled me like my dad used to when I was six
“St-o” was all I could say kicking my legs into his chest, I knew it wouldn’t do anything though, I hadn’t laughed this much in so long it felt good, he stopped tickling me, half his body was on the bed, in push up position he leaned in closer and kissed my lips gently, his warm touch made my heart thump loud, he smiled on my lips and continued to kiss me, parting our lips and kissing me with more force, his warm breath made me feel dizzy, and before I knew it I had to pull away to get some air, while smiling enormously.
“Now I think you should go to bed sweetie” he said and kissed my forehead, I climbed under the covers and laid my head on Jacobs bare warm chest while his huge long arms cradled half my body stroking my hair softly until I eventually drifted off to a deep dreamless sleep.
