During the honeymoon of the lovely penguin and bobblehead doll couple, the sun was setting on the water and things seemed peaceful.
"Lola, my sweet, we need to talk," Skipper started, staring at the bobblehead's smile.
"You see, we don't seem to connect as much as i thought we would. As much as it pains me to say it, beautiful, i think we should see other people," Skipper explained, breaking the ice.
As if making a response to Skipper's words, Lola slid off the roof, fell to the ground, and broke into pieces. Skipper partially felt guilt, but he spoke from the heart and did what he felt he had to do.
When he came back inside, he saw that his team and the chimps were sleeping. One thing bothered him, though: how is he going to explain that he broke up with her? She was his everything to him, after all. Just then, he took a piece of paper from a drawer and a pen that was found on the ground. He thought it would be a good idea if he wrote down a bunch of possible ideas for lie and choose one of them to use.
After about half an hour, Skipper wrote down 50 lies, but only came down to the 11 that he liked:
Went down in an airplane
Fried while getting suntanned
Fell in a cement mixer that was full of quicksand
Met a shark underwater at the beach
Fell and no one was there to catch her
Caught in a mudslide
Eaten by a lion
Run over by a purple Scion
Dried up in a desert
Drowned in a hot tub
Danced to death at an east side night club
They seemed good, but he crossed of the first one, since the plane wasn't ready yet, crossed off the eighth one since Scions were North American, he crossed off being eaten by a lion, since Alex wasn't there, he crossed off drowning in a hot tub due to her not hot tubbing without him, he crossed off the cement mixer since there are no odds of that happening, crossed off desert since they weren't near one, couldn't dance let alone dance to death, can't suntan, most places she can't go without him, so he stuck with the lie that was closest to the truth: that she fell and no one caught her.
As Skipper circled that lie and hid the paper, he went to sleep peacefully and glad things are out of the way. What better lie to use than the one that was closest to the truth?
